My guess is that its because he is risk averse. He sees Watkins bracketed and doesnt want to take a chance. The same thing we saw from EJ we are seeing with TT. He needs guys to be wide open before he trusts the throw.

It reminded me of the umpire scene in The Naked Gun.

Yeah, I dont disagree. But there is a line. Be passionate but in control, the same thing you want from your players. Throwing down your headset is like a 10 year old throwing is gaming controler across the room because he cant beat a level.

McCown Out for the Season; Manziel Out with Concussion
MDH replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Im guessing that with this move they are simply ready to move on. -
You have proven no such thing. The fact that you think somebody spending all their employment hours working to get better at something would have absolutly no effect is comical. DC Tom is right that the rules need to be simplified but full time refs would absolutely improve the officiating. The question is by how much it would be improved, not if it would be.

I can see how it's appealing for fans to see a guy mimic their anger but it is absolutely not helpful in managing a game. Tell me, do people make sound decisions when they are angry? Throwing a tantrum doesn't help your team at all.

It is illegal. You can't headhunt players who are away from the play after a turnover. It should have been a penalty.

We heard the same thing about Roman with Kaep. How is Kaep doing without him? Perhaps its the other way around. Roman keeps getting stuck with young, mobile QBs who are limited in what they can do from the pocket and he does the best he can with them. I like TT's chances to develop more than I do/did Kaep though. TT is making an effort to become a complete QB in a way I never really saw with Kaep.

Week 12: Chiefs' Game Preparation - Inactives Annouced

I voted no vs. the Jets & yes vs. the Pats. I'll vote no here hoping my prognostication skills continue. All that for a minor ankle sprain? That's good news but I still can't help but -
Mike Pereira: Bills should have had one more play

And I - obviously- don't know their internal ratings of officials but one has to assume that they put some of their best crews on Monday night games since the nation is watching. You're absolutely right and I saw that pass too. It was two yards short of the LoS and I was screaming at my TV that it should have been grounding. -
I hate to admit it, but Taylor sucks

This drove me crazy and was typical Hogan. He has to know where the marker is and get there. But instead of just driving forward he tries to make a cut and gets stopped short. So frustrating. -
Yeah, you're likely right.

My big problem with this is the type of team the Bills want to be. They want to be a run first team. Well, that type of team - when successful - is going to end up in a LOT of 3rd and short situations. That's what they are hoping for. It means the runs on 1st and 2nd were productive. Yet when the Bills get into these ideal situations they can't run the ball for a single yard. They get stuffed and have to punt. They will never be successful on offense if they can't routinely convert those 3rd downs. If they can't convert 3rd and short with regularity then they need to open up the playbook and throw more because they'll never be able to "matriculate the ball down field" (to use an awesome Hank Stram quote) with their current scheme.

Bridgewater hasn't "earned" that call yet!

I didn't literally mean bullet. I meant a pass with not much arc. Anything other than the high arc pass he normally throws (which for most situations is the best deep ball throw.) -
The only bad hit on Brady I saw was Graham (I think) went low at his legs when there was no need. I thought for sure it would be called but it wasn't.

I think he did. McCoy was WIDE open. A down field bullet placed in the right spot and it's an easy 6 with the safety having no shot at getting over in time. -
The problem is every week the announcers state how whatever CB is following Sammy "took him out of the game." Yet every week when people go in and look at the all 22 we see this isn't true. The Bills' playcalling and TT take Sammy out of the game more than any CB does.

Since the internet isn't good with sarcasm, I like to read this line as if it was said in complete sincerity. -

No, didn't see it. I was probably too busy rolling my eyes at another Doug Flutie dirt ball. Even if Woods wasn't far enough along in his route those balls would have been at his shoe laces. -

Not once did I see Woods pull up on his route on those throws. He was running towards the ball but it was way too far in front of him. It might have been a timing thing but it wasn't that Woods quit on his route. -
And on another coaching topic: I'm sure at some point we'll see them find a way to feed Sammy the ball. Every other team with a "stud" #1 does this. Get him involved early. Throw bubble screen to him to get him touches and see what he can do after the catch. Throw crossing patterns his way. Easy throws for short gains where he can use his speed and athleticism to make something happen. Stop just chucking it down field at him on go patterns.

And it wasn't just the deep balls. He was inaccurate throwing short outside throws too. I think I counted 3 balls to Woods that were a good 1-2 yards in front of him and in the dirt. -
Or maybe Rex giving his guys so much time off? They looked unprepared and unpracticed in situational football. Guys that look that unprepared shouldn't be given so much time off. Giving time off to a team is something you can do with a team full of vets who all know the systems inside and out, not on a team that has two new coordinators and everybody obviously isn't on the same page. If they don't want to run contact practices fine, but make them go over situational drills again and again. That two minute offense made me want to That's where a coach needs to have his guys prepared for the situation. Nobody seemed to know wtf they were doing. That's on coaching. I'm not excusing TT and his horrible play last night and you're right, a vet in that situation simply lines up his team and snaps the ball. But the Bills have a guy who has 7 starts, the coach needs to have him prepared for that moment and they didn't. Btw, I've never seen a team not call multiple plays in the huddle coming out of the break in that situation. Never seen it. Not even in college ball. That is coaching.

Gilmore wasn't in position to immediately chase after him. His momentum was taking him the wrong way. The only player who had a shot at him was the safety deep down the middle of the field. He might have gotten him, but who knows.
