  1. Just horrible.
  2. Given how important kickers are now I'm not even against drafting a kicker next year.
  3. Never been a big believer in the "regardless of position" idea. You go BPA but you have to narrow it down a little. They can't afford to go BPA if the top guy is a RB for instance. For the most part they can go BPA, but I'd eliminate DL and RB. If Rex wants a two gap scheme then forget drafting DL high. They can find space eaters later in the draft, even good nose tackles.
  4. Yeah, I don't know about the cap. If there is a sizable chunk saved then yeah, cut him.
  5. Yeah, I don't see the need to cut him before next season either. Keep him in training camp, bring in another guy who can challenge TT for a starters spot and EJ for the backup spot. If EJ can't beat him out cut him. If he does keep him. Don't agree with what? He's been the backup here for 2 different coaching staffs. Seem they agree he's a capable backup...
  6. /end thread
  7. I never understood why he needs to cut EJ just because he didn't pan out as a starter. He's fine as a backup and he doesn't cost a lot. He's a good kid who doesn't whine or complain and works hard. Why cut him? Because fans don't like him?
  8. I wonder how that plays out in the locker room. Should everybody take themselves out if you can't go to the playoffs or only guys who think they are more important than everybody else?
  9. Well, that wasn't my assumption and not what I said at all.
  10. But he didn't let them sort it out. He chooses the captains every week. Letting them sort it out would be allowing them to vote on their captains for the year.
  11. One could cite Rex's need to have "team captains" change every week. When I stated it wasn't a great idea to do the this people said, "who walks out to the middle of the field for a coin flip doesn't matter, the team knows who its leaders are." Well, apparently they don't. Perhaps having some players who were voted on by their peers to be their captains would have given them a mandate to lead, instead of everybody looking around hoping somebody else stood up and did it. But hey, everybody gets a good chuckle when Incognito is the captain in Miami, IK is it for the Jets and Shady walks out in Philly. It's what Rex has always done... I
  12. I'm unhappy with the job he's done but having both offensive and defensive systems move into year two I doubt we see "as bad or worse" in production. The only way that happens is if TT regresses (which he may do.) While I don't like what Rex has done at all, changing coaches after a single year speaks to a franchise who can't get their heads out of their asses. Rex gets at least another year, the last thing I want is to see scheme and coaching changes yet again. One thing I do know is that Rex is a good D coach, the D will not be worse next year, I'm fairly confident of that. You won't see all the miscommunication or players looking completely lost pre-snap like we have this year. Well, at least not nearly as much of it.
  13. This is a great idea and has a lot of merit. Much better than the lottery system other leagues use.
  14. They've found plenty of ways to lose without EJ. Like the team couldn't have found some new, exciting way of losing that game too.
  15. What affect do fans' pessimism have on the game? The fans don't play. At the end of the game when it's close and I'm thinking the Bills are going to choke you think our collective mind powers influence the players on the field?
  16. Yep, the treadmill continues. The only thing that made fans believe that this team was capable of competing for a playoff spot was this D. The only thing about this D that made it dominant was the DL. Now we're thinking they're going to dismantle the DL to get "Rex guys" for his D. Years of suffering, here we come. If Rex couldn't create a scheme that utilized the strength of the roster that was already in place then he was absolutely the wrong choice for the job.
  17. I never said that. But you start bashing a quality player who was one of the only bright spots on this team for years and I'll come to his defense.
  18. In this D Mack would have 5 sacks on the year. But that's okay, he'd also have 5 passes defensed.
  19. Yeah, and that was Jackson's fault.
  20. Yeah, I'm not even sure why they have coaches. They can't imprint their way of doing things on the team, they're obviously just there for show.
  21. One of the things that is consistent with this staff is that the Bills generally get out-coached when it comes to in game adjustments. Other teams make them and the Bills seem to do very little in terms of changing what they are doing mid-game. One of the many, many frustrating things about watching this team.
  22. Good thing Shady didn't see this, he might have punched him.
  23. Someone should yell at Thurman that it's embarrassing that on a handful of 3rd and longs his DL can't manage to stay onside, giving the offense a much better down and distance on a critical down. We need a coaching staff that looks in the mirror instead of making excuses like the fanbase does.
  24. In one sentence Rex says, "I know we did everything we could to fix it." In another he says, "we need to get better and we will." If you've already done everything you can to fix it, how are you going to improve it going forward?
  25. If every player were that angry about losing any game (not just vs. your former team) this team would be a lot better off. I want guys who hate to lose. I don't want this to manifest itself into being poor sportsmen on the field but if they don't want to talk to the media after a loss, too bad.
