Years ago, back when Windows XP was new, I worked as an IT contractor at a large corporate headquarters. Every June when the new college summer interns would start we would start getting calls about slow computers. Go and look and sure enough, they’ve loaded non business software on their system, like AOL IM, Napster, Weatherbug, etc. We’d delete it and tell them they were not company approved programs and if they loaded them again, we’d report them to their supervisor. Same company, in the manufacturing area, had a computer that monitored this one piece of equipment. That’s all, it just sat there recording. One day I get a call the screen is f’d up. Go and look and someone on third shift had loaded Deer Hunter on it to play at night. Delete it and told them same thing, load it again and it’s being reported. About two weeks later, get a call again and sure enough that had loaded the game again. Reported and never had an issue with that system again.
