I was staying at a hotel in NH a few years ago. Checking in and we are given the card to the room. Open the door and someone's suitcase is sitting there in the room. Go back to the desk and they give us another room card. Go to that room, and we can't get in, because someone is already in that room with the deadbolt on. Go back down and the desk clerk goes and checks that the third room he was going to give us is actually empty before giving us the cards. We put a chair in front of the door just in case that night. Funny, I heard the same thing happened at a Lowes in NC recently.

I try to circumvent any issues by treating opposing fans as I’d want to be treated. Last night entering the club, had a pair of Pats fans behind us. Took a couple minutes pointing out where everything is, and letting them know alcohol sales do not get cut off until after the game. Then saw another Pats fan after the game, a young boy, about 10, with his father who was in Bills gear. Held out my hand, and said “good game little guy”. He shook my hand and thanked me. Now maybe when they run into Bills fans at Gillette, they’ll remember the polite Bills fan in Buffalo and decide to be nice to them also.
