  1. In fact, had the Bills drafted him AND he was injured and the injury ended his career before he even played a game... He still wouldn't be the worst Bills draft bust named "Mike Williams."
  2. There's something to be said for having the fourth wealthiest ownership in the league, eh? (and willing to spend it) There's no salary cap for coaches, management, scouts or facilities!
  3. I think you're sarcasm detector is broken. Khan was definitely kidding.
  4. Yes - and it applies both to football coaching/management AND to Buffalo sports writing.
  5. I called him out once to his editor directly in an e-mail. Sullivan had written an article especially full of logical flaws and a fair amount of provable falsehoods (even for him). My assertion was that Sullivan is a troll who spews nonsense for click-bait, and that the BN likes him that way. The editor wrote me back with what I would characterize as a non-denial denial. (He might disagree - but that's my take.) Point being - if we keep clicking, the BN is happy. Rational is not a prerequisite over there, and they're not concerned with maintaining any sort of reputation.
  6. No, but Peterman can hit anything..., so go ahead and sign Barnidge
  7. Yeah - Lamar Jackson is an incredible athlete, but he hasn't cracked 60% completions for a season yet - let's see how he does year 3. I love Peterman, but I think it's fair to assume the 2018 QB class certainly factored into the Bills' decision to trade down for the extra pick so they could bundle up next April.
  8. And let Whaley and/or the scouts sell their info on the Bills boards to any NFL team that paid for it? Or did you want two sets of GM's and scouts employed at once?
  9. THIS! I was worried about Lattimore regardless - the trade was MUCH better!
  10. Amen. Sorry but Jimbo blew SB XXV, not Scott Norwood.
  11. TT was 7-8 with a crap defense last year, can I just ignore that last bit entirely b/c in makes no sense at all. The correct answer is no, because we already have our franchise QB on the roster (Peterman) and TT is a better backup than Watson!
  12. You'll need to wait until September at least for that, so what's you point?
  13. It's been pretty clear that McDermott was running this draft for a while even prior. If it turns out a bust, we maybe told to blame Whaley but it's McDermott's for good or ill.
  14. I would not assume Yates sticks at all. IMHO Peterman was as good as any of the drafted QBs - I thought so going in to the draft, based on stats plus the awesome scouting of watching all the Gruden QB camp shows. Seriously though, Peterman has everything you want except the BIG arm. That might be a big deal, but it's not everything.
  15. Which is odd, because I could swear Rex said the prior regime should be embarrassed to only have the #4 defense in the league with their talent, and he was going to make them #1. ...right before he turned them in to the #19 defense two straight years...
  16. Yes. They are Bills fans.
  17. Yeah - they have enough money to get a 2nd period FA. Worked pretty well last year with Zach Brown and LorAx.
  18. Why do people insist on exaggerating? How is DT a hole? Are you assuming KW is done after this year? Adolphus Washington is now a DT in the new scheme, so anyone they're looking for is DT#4. They added Ducasse, Dawkins is an OG if he's not ORT, so...? Agree the C situation behind Woods is a little scary but they kept Groy who did fine in there and added Lewis who's played - regardless we're talking about depth players - how is that a "hole"? TE behind Clay, sure, if the light doesn't come on for O'Leary. OLB still an issue they will probably attack in FA the next go around. That's a really good observation. McDermott probably had a good sense of at least the top part of the Panthers' board, and knew where he couldn't wait past them. Yeah - It could well point to the rumored cleaning house on the scouting department.
  19. Yes - it's always good draft metagame when you START a run. And how was the trade-up for Zay Jones bad? They NEEDED a WR even before Woods left. The top three were shockingly gone before 10. Zay was the next WR out there. If they don't get him we're back to being 1 Watkins injury (not an unusual thing) away from Andre Holmes being the #1.
  20. Hmm - Lamar Jackson is as insane an athlete as I've seen play football. He makes Cam Newton look like a lunk. Wish his completion % was higher. 60% is the conventional target college % for NFL draftees. He got up to 57.6% last season, so maybe he'll continue to improve. If he does he sure as hell isn't going to last into the 20's. The problem with this mock is they are showing who you pick given the spot - I'm sure the Bills' plan is to combine the two #1's next year to move up.
