Profits are earned - they're what's left after you've paid all your expenses while conducting legitimate business. I finally read his whole "manifesto". It does indeed have a conservative bent to it, but I didn't see anything misogynist or bigoted about it. Based on the reaction he received (losing his job) and the subsequent argument both here and elsewhere, I had expected to see something much more radical and offensive than what he actually wrote. With regard to 1st amendment issues, people need to remember that it's the government that can't silence you. Your employer most certainly can, and speaking out online can get you into trouble that you may not have considered.

I'll grant that there seems to be a slight easing of vitriol in congress lately, but the republicans' inability to come to an agreement among themselves, coupled with the democrats' still-hysterical reaction to anything Trump gives me plenty to be skeptical about. I don't think that at all. In fact I don't believe that congress is capable of ever putting together a working sustainable healthcare plan. Legislators and regulators are the ones that screwed it up in the first place. I know we'll never go back to treating things like doctors, medicine, or insurance as businesses, industries, or commodities, let alone reintroducing the free market back into the system.

Anyone that thinks that the parties will come to some kind of compromise on healthcare is deluding themselves.
