  1. Not only that, but make the protest a positive, inclusive one where reasonable, rational people can express themselves without confrontation, destruction, or violence. Do like the hippies did and bust out some bongos, acoustic guitars, smoke a few joints, and sing some harmless, insipid songs about peace and loving your fellow man/woman/trans/wombat/or however you/they/we choose to identify. What does anyone think is going to happen when you try to confront or assault a bunch of Klansmen, neo-Nazis, or the like?
  2. That's exactly what I hope is going to happen. The symbolism and poetic justice of the elderly Jewish death camp prisoner killing off his Nazi-strigoi antagonist who happens to be the architect of the resettlement camp/ blood farms should be too much to allow for any other outcome.
  3. How have we managed to come to the point where someone who believes there are differences between men and women is pilloried for not respecting diversity? Isn't the belief that there are differences among us the very definition of diversity? Can someone please tell me what it is that I'm missing here?
  4. Eichhorst sure does get FUBARed a lot.
  5. I understand your point, but can't help but bristle at your use of the word "profit". Profits are earned - they're what's left after you've paid all your expenses while conducting legitimate business. Equating the politicians' penchant for grabbing cash in back-room deals with legitimate earnings only reinforces the leftist lie that profits are evil.
  6. A fascinating version of a true classic: http://youtu.be/XKRj-T4l-e8?list=PLmUBAWEb-nXMKYdM7JSRXiWhByGkj9yVY
  7. I really enjoyed him in the original True Grit. Some are unaware of his role in the Beach Boys: http://theboot.com/glen-campbell-beach-boys/ RIP
  8. It's nice to see a little relevant perspective. Clinton said that long before NK had developed a nuke, and the support he received was both bipartisan and universal. To be honest, it seems to me that the thread title is backwards - it should read "is North Korea ramping up to war with the US"? The answer to that appears to be a solid YES.
  9. I finally read his whole "manifesto". It does indeed have a conservative bent to it, but I didn't see anything misogynist or bigoted about it. Based on the reaction he received (losing his job) and the subsequent argument both here and elsewhere, I had expected to see something much more radical and offensive than what he actually wrote. With regard to 1st amendment issues, people need to remember that it's the government that can't silence you. Your employer most certainly can, and speaking out online can get you into trouble that you may not have considered.
  10. Anti-confederate memorial activists are protesting in an effort to distract the nation from the Trump agenda?
  11. That is one of the most ridiculous things that Gatorman's never said.
  12. Oh goodie, a LAMP thread. Just what we need on PPP. These are always such worthwhile reads.
  13. I usually use the basic Ragu sauce, but I make a meat sauce out of it adding ground chuck, diced onion and bell pepper, crushed garlic, and a generous blast of red wine. Alfredo is way too easy to make to even consider buying it - and fresh Alfredo tastes so much better.
  14. The coolest thing by far for me was coming in from over the Atlantic and seeing the morning sun rising over the mountains in Portugal. The orange light shone like beams through the peaks. It was indescribable, really. Honorable mentions would be watching a sky-writer from far above, as well as flying high over a fireworks display.
  15. I have the Whataburger rewards app on my phone.
  16. Anyone headed for San Antonio needs to try some puffy tacos and some of the gorditas that the little old ladies make fresh at literally any outdoor festival or parade.
  17. I'll grant that there seems to be a slight easing of vitriol in congress lately, but the republicans' inability to come to an agreement among themselves, coupled with the democrats' still-hysterical reaction to anything Trump gives me plenty to be skeptical about. I don't think that at all. In fact I don't believe that congress is capable of ever putting together a working sustainable healthcare plan. Legislators and regulators are the ones that screwed it up in the first place. I know we'll never go back to treating things like doctors, medicine, or insurance as businesses, industries, or commodities, let alone reintroducing the free market back into the system.
  18. Anyone that thinks that the parties will come to some kind of compromise on healthcare is deluding themselves.
  19. Which, sad to say, is the way with many such organizations nowadays.
