I'm way more optimistic about it than I am about Discovery. As far as I know, none of the old Trek people are involved at all, and everyone seems to want to put their own spin on the Trek universe and canon. I find it amusing that after referring to the previous shows as TOS, TNG, DS9, STV, and STE that Discovery will be STD. -

I've always been a Trek nerd, but I suspect that I'm going to like The Orville more than I'll like Discovery. -
Well, if there's one source I trust for accurately quoting Rush Limbaugh, it's the Washington Post.

Since he's apparently had at least three different aliases, I'd say participation is the one thing he's excelled in. -

I suppose we've got to give him credit, then. Is there an award for the most consistently obtuse poster? We ought to award him something. -

If you hadn't quoted it, I wouldn't have believed it. -
A hell of a lot of gasoline comes from/through the Houston area, and the storm has both disrupted the steady supply and caused a panic around the area, causing gas lines at service stations and many retailers running completely out. Prices should drop back to where they were soon. Yep, that pretty much nails it.

All they really need to do is kill the master, although that's way easier said than done. I'd like to see Zach die horribly too.
-
Yeah, I was afraid that was coming, but I was holding out hope that there would be some kind of twist that would have him live, at least long enough for him to see the master finally defeated. But you called it damn near the way it played out:

Thanks - I appreciate you taking the time to explain. I admit that my lack of detailed understanding gives me a simplistic view of the subject. What I have trouble with is an ongoing political argument where one side uses taxation as a wedge issue - a way to appear to be champions of the downtrodden by campaigning for increased taxes on wealthy individuals and corporations, and promoting the belief that both are little more than scoundrels who attained their wealth by cheating honest Americans, then seeing someone from that political point of view say that we don't even need to tax anyone to fund our government. The two notions are completely contradictory to me.

Are we ramping up to war with North Korea?

A hundred kilotons is a firecracker compared with what else is out there. That fat little commie is playing a very dangerous game, one that he has absolutely no hope of winning. -
I'm a pretty simple guy. I'm a telecom tech by profession and a musician by preoccupation. I work, I pay rent, I pay bills, and I buy food. In order to keep a roof over my head, my belly full, and my lights on, I pay money to do so. It's a simple existence, but it works for me. If my government wants to supplement the military, pay our representatives, or build roads and bridges, then they require money to do so, just like I need money to supplement my own life. That money needs to come from somewhere. As of this weekend, I have had just under ten thousand dollars taken from my paychecks in federal taxes alone, ostensibly because the feds need the money to do their thing. You know money and economic better than I do. I understand and accept that. That being said, I have to admit that any claims that state that the feds do not need to tax us sounds a great big pile of abstract textbook horsesh!t that out of touch, obstinate elitists might spout. Especially when it comes from people who lean to the left, the group that holds dear the mantra that we need to tax the rich, corporations, or any one else who might be earning and creating wealth on their own. The notion that the feds do not need to tax us in order to pay their own bills is laughable to the vast majority of people. If that's indeed not the case, then I would love to see people such as yourself and Mr Sack put forth a viable plan for Washington to realize their expenditures while removing the tax burden from your fellow citizens. If you could do that, not only would you guys have statues commissioned in your honor, nobody would demand they be taken down.

"The legislation will aim to prohibit “universities and administrators from taking action, including communicating in an official capacity, that limits or chills the expression of any member of the campus community or their invited guests based on the content of the expression” It should give everybody pause to think that we've come to the point where local legislation is being considered to enforce something that's a pillar of our constitutional freedoms. -
Yeah, it's been pretty ridiculous around here. People are creating an exaggerated demand via their social media freakouts. The only gas stations that don't have lines are the ones that already ran out of gas.

Well said.

They're still waiting for EVERYTHING that's been both pledged and promised, whether from Trump, celebrities, JJ Watt, churches, etc, etc, etc. For someone who doesn't care about the first lady's shoes, you sure have opinions to share on the subject. Do you really need to use this tragedy to talk smack about a president we already know you don't like?

National Anthem (Cameron Jefferson)

I understand why you feel this way, but as much as we may not care for some peoples' methods of protest, as long as he's not hurting anyone, damaging any property, or violating any NFL rules, then he has every right to express himself as he sees fit. We have every right to react however we choose, provided we do so lawfully.
