  1. True. But coke (Trump's drug of choice I hear) is not. My favorite: How much ice could a justice chuck if a justice did chuck ice? — Matthew Dempster (@dempstermd) October 2, 2018
  2. Huh? This has NOTHING to do with her or other victims. It has to do with this case only. Did the Judge try to rape here 36 years ago. As Uncle Joe would say, PERIOD. This is the OJ trial for women.
  3. But legally and procedurally, could they have asked for it, and if they did, would have it be honored? Grassley said any one of them could ask for it. Let's say Kamala Harris DID want to ask for it. Could she ask, and if so, would the Rs HAVE to go along with it? I suppose the final call is Trump's since they asked him for it.
  4. I also saw somewhere whee she said stumbling drunk. I'm not throwing the story out, but like you, find the wording perhaps exaggerated or something. My theory is Al quit because he knew more stories were coming. My D friend told me a couple of weeks ago (before all this) these women were Republicans and made it up to get Al in trouble. Now, survivors should be believed.
  5. I'm not sure what you mean by this. If the Ds wanted to re open the background check, could they do it on their own? Just ask. Or does someone from the majority have to do it? tha't the only difference I can come up with between Flake and them.
  6. I'm confused about something about the process here. Maybe one of you will know. In the hearing, EVERY D tried to get O'Kavanaugh to ask for an FBI Investigation. Grassley said that any one of them could ask for the investigation to be re opened. Finally Flake asked for it and it was re opened. Could a D have done the same? Why could Flake do it and not them?
  7. She's into going along with whatever the colleagueally group is into.
  8. I noticed this as well. At first I was wondering who that #90 was at Defensive Tackle. Then I remembered it was Shaq LOL. All in all I think the D did it's job. Hold the greatest QB since Joe Montana to 22 points and get 2 turn overs. A functioning offense would be thrilled to get this.
  9. This may be nothing, but one thing about her testimony seems a little odd to me. 2 things. 1. I would assume "pin balling" means they were bouncing off one wall and then into another as they went down stairs. If someone were that drunk that they couldn't even walk down a flight of stairs without bumping on both walls, I would question if they could physically pull off what she claims. Whenever I've been that drunk, I'm not thinking of of raping girls, I'm thinking "I'm never going to drink again as long as I live." 2. If she's locked in a bathroom, how does she know this "pin-balling" is happening?
  10. I've been thinking this whole thing is getting to the be like the OJ Trial. If you watched the verdict with a mixed race crowd like I did (and has been reported on) when the verdict was read the people the same race as OJ were all happy and high fiving. All the people not the same race were asking, "what about the evidence?" It was like getting even for all the times black men were killed because some white woman said he did something, and now the Juice killed one of their's and got away with it. For women this is pretty much the same thing. Even the ladies in the elevator said this was for all women that weren't believed before. Meanwhile the men ask "What about the evidence?"
  11. Since she hired the lawyer that Senator Fienstien recommended and they then tried to negotiate the FBI Investigation to "no scope" after the hearing, I think it's entirely possible they didn't tell her because they wanted th dog and pony show and the delay they got and are hoping to extend. Although it would probably be fellow college drunks next time. She did act surprised when Grassley told her they were making plans to travel to CA. when he said they didn't want her to have to fly out if she didn't want to, she said "Thank You".
  12. I'm not gonna list them all. but one that jumped out at me early on was that Republican Senators were trying to dictate the witness list. If they are, then both sides are. The other one that is not mentioned is are they going to interview Dr. Ford's husband? He is named in the statement by Ford. She says he remembers. (In best 48 hours voice), or does he? And if so, what exactly does he remember? as I saw someone say last week. This my just mean that be better remember or else LOL.
  13. Yet Justice Breyer was busted for under age drinking when he was in college. Seems to have worked out OK for him. Also, anecdotally, when watching his opening argument when he they stopped for a bathroom break I was switching around channels. An MSNBC host said "I worked for Justice Kavanaugh for 7 years and only heard him mention the work 'beer' 2 or 3 times. Now he's said it a bunch. We'll see what happens." I found that interesting. A good question to ask would be is he still a white knuckle drunk?
  14. Has he never heard the expression "low hanging fruit?"
  15. I have a friend who a few weeks ago before this stuff hit that fan when talking about Al Franken's allegations of playing grab ass on the campaign trail, she said it was just brought up by Republican women to get him in trouble. Now she says that one year ago you were afraid your daughter would get assaulted in a bath room. Now if she does you won't listen to her. And a lot of other ridiculous tweets. This lady is a flaming Democrat but somehow that doesn't matter. She has nothing to gain by lieing so she MUST be telling the truth. No word on what al Franken accusers had to gain. Nuts.
  16. This is the thing that blows my mind. We have US Senators saying an accused person has to prove they didn't do it. And if you don't have anything to hide, why not ask for an investigation? If you don't, obviously you have something to hide and we need to investigate. There are 2 of the most UN-AMERICAN comments one can make. And now of course about 1/2 the population say this sounds fine too.
  17. Mocking real American Viet Nam war veterans (heroes) is pathetic.
  18. Now that I've heard about her I hope O'Kavanaugh doesn't get confirmed. She might even be more fun to watch. See the people that need men to stand up eat one of their own. I go by the Molly Ivin's theory. You pay for all this so you might as well watch it and enjoy it.
  19. This goes along with my theory that O'Kavanaugh was a sacrificial lamb nominated as Red Meat for the Dems to beat up on for a while. Then when they are pounding their chest he'll nominate this person.
  20. Actually, this is what she said: https://www.cnn.com/2018/09/24/politics/new-york-times-kavanaugh-renate-high-school-yearbook/index.html
  21. What about the men that rot in jail after being convicted based on victim testimony. The innocence project has gotten quite a few of these guys off. https://www.amny.com/news/central-park-rape-wrongful-convictions-1.18439640 I am sympathetic as well but there has to be some kind of balance here. We can't just say survivors remember vividly what happen and are never wrong which I hear and read about. (There was an editorial in my local paper pretty much saying that this morning.) When there is evidence to prove that's not the case. But they should be treated better by our justice system and police.
  22. This ticks me off about the Ds. Here was a great opening where they could have caught him in an inaccuracy based on his own evidence! Dr. Ford said it was around the 4th of July. then on his own calendar it shows a party on a week night (it had to be a weekend) around the 4th of July with beer and PJ and Judge. Like you say the prosecutor even asked him about that date. Shortly after she was removed. I find that interesting. After that Durbin has his Rick Lazio moment and others questioned him and don't bring it up. Even the great former prosecutor was too busy asking him to ask for an investigation. they did Dr. Ford a disservice at this point. They should have been listening and asking questions about his testimony instead of grand standing and every single one of them asking him "if you don't have anything to hide, whey not volunteer for an FBI investigation" even though he said he would do whatever they wanted. I wish one of those time he would have just said NO. I'm the accused, not the accuser. Quote some legal thing about the presumption of innocence being a corner stone of our legal system or something. He looked like a fool. It was a travesty on both sides.
  23. who was pitching? Just kidding. But yeah, I remember some details from games around then I could tell you about. I went to a CA Angels at Milwaukee Brewers at County stadium i think it was. Robin Yount and Paul Molitor played for Mil. Reggie Jackson hit a grand slam. Probably 1986.
