  1. As to the first bolded I think we were sold a bill of goods on his ability to hit the long ball. He's probably thrown 10 or so in PS and RS and I have yet to see one completed that was put on the money in stride. Still waiting. As tot he second bolded, those picks were NOT the OLines fault. OLInes fault that guys got in to hang on him, but throwing it into a crowd as opposed to out of bounds is ALL ON HIM. The other pick was just a horrible throw. As to asking Nasty Nate about picks. Good call. It's one QB thing he knows a lot about.
  2. So sorry to hear this and my condolences to the family. Having your child die is the worst thing that can happen to you.
  3. Does that plus leading the offense to top 1/3 of the league in scoring 2 years in a row make you efficient?
  4. His receivers did help him by making some circus catches on some would be errant throws. Specifically (whipping boy) DiMarco and Clay on the sidelines. Nice play by Zay Jones on the long ball. Protection was not horrible IMHO. He had a lot of time on a lot of plays.
  5. beating the Cheese at the Ralph in 2014. any win over the Patsies** 2006 home opener vs the Seahawks who had been to NF C Chapionship the year before and SB 2 years before 2013 vs defending SB champ Raisins with EJ the man under 2017 vs defending NFC champs Falcons 2004 Putting a major hurt on the playoff bound Seahawks in their own house. 2015 Knocking the 10-5 Jets out of the playoffs We would have won anyway.
  6. I don't think so because we have Daboll and he has the inside scoop on Alabama.
  7. This is a great post and totally spot on. Fit z dreams of making the playoffs. He could have if he hadn't thrown a pick to Leodis in the EZ in week 17.
  8. yeah Fit z will.get you to 10-5 and on the doorstep of the playoffs and then throw a pick to Leodis in the EZ. i have never laugh ed as hard at the Ralph as I did that day.
  9. Sweet. I can't wait to see them lip sync.
  10. Their offensive line has never been good in the Pete Carroll era. They let Okung go because he's not very good.
  11. Yes and No. first of all we have no idea what would happen if we didn't tank, because we did. We also have no idea if this is gonna work. We can only hope. As far as the bolded that may be true next year. but that's it. And, we don't have an unlimited amount of money and we have to convince (over pay) players to come to one of the worst teams in the league. Then the following year, we're right back to it because we have big contracts we're stuck to for the guys we signed this year. I thought making the playoffs was different. Looks to me like we're following the exact same plan to the letter in developing Josh as we did EJ. That plan didn't work, why are we repeating it?
  12. True. True. good thing we have TBD!
  13. How is signing Drew Brees lucky? I'd call that smart. Drafting Russell Wilson is lucky? Bills could have taken him. I saw an interview with Russell where he said the Bills were really interested in him. He visited more than once. He thought we were going to take him. When our pick came up he was ready, except we traded up for TJ Graham instead!. so it's not that we aren't lucky, it's that we've made a lot of bad decisions over the years. We also passed on Mahomes AND Watson LAST YEAR. We need to be smarter. Not convinced that we are being smarter this time. We've tried the tank thing a few times too. We had the 3rd pick 2011 I think it was. We've also had top 10 picks most years.
  14. I realize that's your opinion and that's fine. I just don't think this kind of tank/dump talent plan works or will work. Sure, you're gong to point Jacksonville. We went through this yesterday, a lot of their talent came after Gus was fired or they traded for or signed. And they had to suck for 4 1/2 years first. People says Dallas, but Dallas was just a really bad team before Jerry bought them. Unless you think Tom Landry tanked his last season so Jimmy Johnson could pick Troy. they already had Michael Irvin and a at least 1/2 of the offensive line. Indy probably did it best. but they got Luck, had a good year or two, got their doors blown in in the deflate gate AFC Championship game and then Luck's health ran out. who knows if he'll ever be that good again? No thanks. I think a better plan is to build up a strong team and keep on the hunt for a QB. Then when you finally find one (they're really hard to find), you can plug them in and you're off to the races. In the mean time you are at least competitive which help attract better players. NO Saints did it this way. Hawks did it this way too. Anyway, you got what you want. Have fun with it. I hope it works but am not holding my breath.
  15. Where did I say I want " consistent mediocrity!"? I want my team to win as many games as possible because when I watch the games on Sunday it's a lot more fun. Sure I want to win a SB, but I don't want or think it's necessary to suffer 3 or 4 years of losing to maybe have a chance. You do evidently. If this keeps up and we do end up one of the worst teams in the league it will be 2 or 3 years to even become competitive again. Sad.
  16. They got to the playoffs in year one with mostly talent from the previous regime(s). Once they went all in on their own talent, the wheels fell off. Hopefully we can get them re attached. "A coach that is rebuilding is rebuilding for the next coach that comes in." - -Bill Parcells this is precisely the time Coach McDermott showed up. Coincidence?
  17. i think it's a lot worse. If you're mediocre you're at least competitve. Games are more fun to watch. The 2014 and 2017 teams were mediocre to upper mediocre. But they were a heck of a lot funner to watch. And they won about 1/2 the time. Winning is a lot more fun than watching this ****.
  18. See if this year's class can top this.
  19. Last week the Titans beat the Texans. Sunshine Gabbert had 112 yards passing. Watson had 300+ yards. Sunshine's team won. QB is very important and the most important position etc., but it's far from being all you need.
  20. I can absolutely say that Rodgers is a far superior QB. No doubt. But blaming one QB for getting in FG range and the kicker missing it and the other gets a pass seems inconsistent to me. Would seem to be consistent to me to either say A) It's not Hotrod's fault the dude missed the kick nor is Aaron's. -or- B) Hotrod blew it and so did Aaron (on this any given Sunday). That's my point. i'm not trying to be mean here but if you can't see that, i am sorry, there is nothing i would be able to say to you that would make you understand that. you either get it or you don't.
  21. So for one QB, if the team gets a tie because his FG kicker missed a FG it is the QBs fault for not getting it done,. But for a different QB, that is not the case? On the other thing I did check but it was a comment by Red Lion, not you. I apologize.
  22. I'm just trying to make a point. and that is opinions are like a$$holes. Everyone has one and they all stink. Just because someone has a different opinion than you doesn't mean you should to be condescending to them.
