that's what I said. Beane 2. McDermott 3. But Beane did make plenty of personnel moves after he got here. So 3 years/3 drafts all together for McDermott and/or Beane. That was my point. Offensive talent level is far from where it should be after 3 years of the regime IMHO. Do you disagree?

Every draft since Coach McDermott arrived we have taken a defensive player in the first round. I suspect we will again until proven otherwise.

This is my concern with Beane. After arriving he jettisoned Sammy and didn't sign Woods (may be he couldn't, don't know). He then subsequently cleaned house further. It has now been 2 FA periods and 2 drafts and this is the best he can do replenish a pretty talented roster that was top 10 in points 2 years running? McDermott even had a draft before that. The only WR drafted has been Ray Ray in the 5th round. After 2 years they had only two starters worth keeping. Disturbing. This year will be the offensive year. Where have I heard that before? Singletary, Brown, and Beasley are a nice start 3 years in. Josh remains to be seen. After 3 years I would think we should be further along.

I posted this in another thread but think it definitely belongs here. The ending of Sunday's game to me anyway was eerily similar to a Dick Jauron game I was at ironically against the Clowns. It was the Monday Night game in Brady Quinn's first start. The game Trent threw 3 picks in our first 4 possessions. We battled back to get the football back with less that 2:00 to go down by 2. A FG wins it and keeps our playoff hopes alive. Trent quickly got us down to the 35 where we camped out and then Lindell missed a long FG. Sound familiar? That was the night ? I officially jumped off the DJ bandwagon.

Look at what other teams do for WR. The Falcons traded mulitple picks to get Julio Jones. Last year they traded back into the first round to get Calvin Ridley. AND they have a good QB. The Cheats** sign new top notch guys every year to improve their corps and they got Tommy. the Hawks drafted Metcalf in first round and they have RW. Chris collinsworth says your WR groups is only as good as your third guy. For us that's Duke if active or Foster or somebody. NOT GOOD ENOUGH. Especially when you're trying to develop a raw QB. THE PROCESS is failing in regards to offensive talent.

How is Lamar Jackson not a good passer? 15 TDs 5 picks 2036 passing yards and a 101.7 rating 65.9 comp %. Just because he can run doesn't mean he can't pass. I wish we had a QB that was that bad at passing.

If you're talking about Tommy, his doesn't have plays. It has all the cheat codes.

Since Clowns stacked the box and rendered our best RB out of the game and make Josh beat them with the pass (good luck) I suspect the Fish to do the same and the Broncos the following week and the Cowboys on Thanksgiving.

Totally. The Clowns stink at defending the run. Does putting another guy in there turn them into the 85 Bears. Even with the stacked box Singletary was able to get 5.3 per carry over all 8 carries. Lame excuse IMHO

When we signed Dabol and were told he was going to implement a NE style offense and then signed Beasley I thought he would be our Edelman. Hit him with quick throws on the run. maybe a pick thrown in for good measure. Same goes for Brown. I have seen none of that. Looks more like the Nate Hackett throw it to guys standing still offense. I don't understand it.

Thanks for clarifying your position. You make some good points. I had mentioned the fewer turn overs, but that's OK. One you didn't mention which is important is points pre per game. Pre bye - 18. Post bye - 22. Wins are down however. 4-1 pre bye, 2-2 post bye. So, some improvements, but all in all still not very good. Would you agree? Maybe we just have a difference in opinion which is fine. But really, is all the condescending insulting stuff I bolded necessary?

How are the coaches to blame for Josh under throwing a guy with the wind vs Eagles and then badly over throwing 3 guys wide open deep vs Clowns? Looks to me like the Coach put him in a position to succeed and Josh just blew it. Face it. He's just not good at throwing the long ball.

I agree but he certainly did not yesterday. He had several opportunities to win in the 4th but came up short each time.
