Sal just declared the Pats*** reign over
reddogblitz replied to TroutDog's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
How could that be? Before you had 3 division and one wild card. Now you have 4 division and 2 wild cards. More teams get in and you're jockeying with less teams to get in. -
I suspect the rule will be changed to when the football crosses the goal line either in the air or not it is a touch back. Will make fewer returns too which is what they really want. Yet you are discussing it

Things looking Up for Buffalo Bills Future
reddogblitz replied to PatsFanNH's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I am optimistic for the future but no blindly optimistic. The team did great this year, but things fell into place for us somewhat. Easy schedule. Very few injuries. You never know but next year's schedule looks harder. Seattle, San Fran, KC, Cheats*** twice etc. I don't expect us to the low on injuries next year either. I am very concerned about our offense. I know we have cap space blah blah blah but I'm not so sure McDermotts would know offensive talent if it bit him on the bum. This years RB (only 1 guy we could give the football to) and last years QB position (Peterman is an NFL starter) and WR the whole time he's been here is why I think that. After 3 years of trying this years offense was the best they could do. Sad. Josh is a hug question mark IMHO. However, I am optimistically thinking that we can turn this offense around, keep our D strong, and Josh works out, and be a serous SB contender next year. -
On a scoring play? Picking up a flag on PI or something is OK, but that is reviewable anyway. Or holding. But this was a SCORING PLAY. They are ALL to be reviewed. How was it the right call? Look, I'm not crying over this because we lost. We should have won anyway. But the NFL violated 2 of it's rules on that one play. Dude didn't give himself up and they didn't review it. That's what grates me. I already think the NFL queers it's calls to help certain teams at times. I don't think the whole thing is rigged, but things like this really make me wonder. I swore off the NBA years ago due this kind of nonsense. Seems to be getting worse in the NFL.

Has anyone ever seen a scoring play reversed without video review since the rule was put in place? If so, when and where.
-
Another Rule also says all scoring plays have to be video reviewed. It was ruled a scoring play on the field. they changed that rule too.

As we saw this year and 2017, you can make the playoffs without beating the Cheats***. No excuse. Cheats*** did not beat us 10 times per year during the Gailey regime or 9 times per year under Jauron. -
THIS is exactly why the Coach McDermott win games close mentality could be a FAIL here. If it's close a mystery flag or non call can cost us the game. The goal should be to score more points and don't the game be in jeopordy of a mysterious flag (Ford) or non call (too much time) can kill us. Easier said than done I know, but Buffalo won't be able to break through until we can keep the gas on in the 2nd half and protect our lead. In similar situations, Tom Landry used to say you shouldn't leave yourself in position so one bad call doesn't beat you.

And he was 14-6 with QBs not named Brady (Cassell, Jimmy, Jacoby). Bill Bellyache is the driving force. If they run off Tommy as I suspect, they'll get someone like Bridgewater or Eli Manning or Ryan Tannehill and the train keeps rolling. Even if Tommy does leave I suspect it rolls on until Bill retires and the cheating stops or at least the new coach is not as good at it. -
Predicting strength of schedule is sketch I admit. But Seattle, San Fran, KC should be tough. Josh made some really good plays and some clunkers. What I was referring to was our last drive in regulation and OT. Throwing one up for grabs to a double covered FB and making an ill advised lateral and taking sacks and int grounding and not winning is "coming up small" when it matters most IMHO. Teams gain the most yards and lose every week. No need to go back 30 years. Was just a memorable example. I am disappointed. It was such a winnable game right there for the taking but was unrealized. When we make the playoffs I want to win. I admit it. I hope you are right about the springboard season thing but it is far from guaranteed as you pointed out 5 playoff teams last year did not return.
-
how many points do you get for yards? the Bills gained more yards than the Giants IN SB XXV too btw. He just came up small late like he did vs the other good teams we played. He had a chance vs Baltimore and NE twice and did Likewise. He's got a LOT of work to do. The whole team needs to learn to beat the good teams. 1-4 vs playoff teams. We play 6 next year.

What are you heading this on? -
A couple of things. I don't know about a lawsuit, but Kim should raise holy hell with the league over this. 2 rules were blown on that play. Probably the worst was that they over ruled a TD called on the field without video review. WTF. Just because a team isn't having a good games doesn't mean they deserve to get piled on by the refs Too. Texans weren't having that great of a game either.
-
I have seen many kicks where the returner stands there and the ref does nothing til the dude takes a knee as it should be. There aren't many "old men" refereeing NFL games anymore.
-
good one. Reminded me more of this one. Why didn't "common sense" prevail here. Obviously TD Mike wasn't going with it back.

Luv Ya Blue. ?Houston?Oilers. They had pretty good run with Bum and Earl and Dan Pastorini. Fun team to watch. I lived in Dallas and was a Cowboy fan, but they were fun. Love this: -

I agree Beane is doing a good job. Just not an easy A job. Passing on the top 3 young QBs in the AFC and then taking Josh Allen is not easy A drafting. Josh is good and may some day be great, but he's not even in the same ball yard as the other 3. I need to see more for an easy A. A playoff win at home would be good place to start. What we have so far is a good start at an easy A IMHO
