The thing that sticks out to me on what buddy and chan both have stated that makes me believe we will not be taking Newton or Fairly is they the both want a guy that has been succesful and a solid contributer for all 4 years, nether has played major college football for all 4 years.

If his heart was with the Patriots he should have played with his heart the whole time he was there..

Question about Fitzgibbons contract & mindset
Pirate Angel replied to nuklz2594's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I say they resign him, Chan hasnt handed any of his rookies playing time he has made them earn there way on the field for the most part. I would think Fitz would want to stay as he knows the system and Blo gives him a good chance to be a starter. -
Trade Down??
-
I dont think he brings much more to the table than Wilson and Scott, so I dont understand where he is coming from trying to get such a huge salary. If he was worth a huge salary he will eventually get it and wouldnt have to post all this nonsense. I thought it was crazy that Nate Clements wanted such a hug contract but Nate atleast had some good seasons and some probowls. Then again they gave Kelsay a good contract.

He throws to his tight end alot so he would have to adjust to not having one.

He was due 10 mil over the next 2 years and doesnt outplay anybody we need help there and to get help you have to have money and roster spots, good move by our front office..

Coy Wire gets 2 more years in Atlanta
Pirate Angel replied to Beerball's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I agree with the decision made on Peters, he played half a season as a solid NFL left tackle, let himself get out of shape and asked for a huge contract. Our staff just wanted to see one full season of him playing LT at a high level before giving him the big $$. Peters didnt want to earn his money for a franchise that took a chance on him as an undrafted FA tight End and groomed from Tight End to RT and eventually LT and he pissed and moaned for $$ the second he got there. We trade him to Philly for a first round draft pick the eventually became Eric Wood who IMO is going to be one of the best centers in football who busts his ass and already is becoming a great leader on this online. -
Coy Wire gets 2 more years in Atlanta
Pirate Angel replied to Beerball's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Coy wire had a good attitude, was a good special teamer, was learning safety in B-lo as he was a LB in college. Was forced into the starting lineup to soon due to a bad roster, was pretty bad at safety in B-lo, he is still nothing special, maybe should have been kept for depth and to compete in camp but not a huge loss.... certainly not a must resign such as Pat Williams and Antoine Winfield. -
Moats can be a very solid contribution to our defense, he needs talent around him. The question is is Carrington the answer, because Stroud is awful at DE and at DT, Dwan Edwards is marginal at best. If our Dline can create a little havok then we will find answers at linebacker.

If Aj Green is Selected by the Bills, does theat make Lee Evans expendable? Lee just isnt as good as we would all like to think he is especially without a QB with a big arm. What could we get for him? a 2nd? not to mention by the time the Bills are competitive he will be a fairly old player. IMO Chicago should be very interested in Evans, Cutler has a huge arm and would mesh well with Evans not to mention they are competive now and there recievers arent spectacular. There is some good defensive front players to be had in the 2nd round in this years draft ant theres no telling where the top OTs in this draft will fall or even Qbs for that matter. Aj is likely to fall to us at #3 and would be very hard to pass on no matter what our needs are. A trade down would be nice to acquire more picks but very unlikely at the # 3 spot without any obvious franchise QBs expected to go in the top 5...Just a thought.

Colon and Daniels would be nice..untill they officially become free agents im not getting to excited

He is very explosive..no denying that, he was only 21 when drafted...very raw so there is still time before he becomes an absolute bust. A very bad draft pick..cant argue with that either. I dont see him putting his hand down and becoming a effective DE, once an NFL olinemen puts a hand on him he his like the Magna Carta....history..Linebacker is new for him but he has shown absolutely nothing, cant provide pressure and is lost in coverage, he cant even use his speed to be on kickoff or punt coverage. I really hate the praise you put on coaches...Billicek inherited a superbowl contending Parcells team and accidently found Tom Brady (count the championships since he was busted for spygate..its 0).. Tomlin almost the same scenario from Cowher taking over with a franchis QB and arguably the best D in football. Rex Ryan was handed a very good defense and one of the best olines in football. Fisher? the guy has put together as many average seasons as any coach out there, Granted they all can manage a game better than some of the disasters we have had, Williams, Mularky, and Jauron.

Reasons to Not Pick a QB in Next Draft
Pirate Angel replied to box0life's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Jim Kelly also thought the Trent Edwards was going to be our answer, Its very early to determine if CJ was a mistake, even if CJ is not a everydown back, he will be a nice asset when we do get that developing QB -
We play the Jets and the Pats twice, we have also have played Pittsburg, KC, Baltimore, GreenBay, and Chicago, Thats nine games KC is the only team not alive.

Anybody notice this?....that is one tough schedule for a rebuilding team.

All of these Defense Coordinators getting fired
Pirate Angel replied to Chuckknox's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
We have bad players, Lombardi and Parcels couldnt make them a respectable defense. We had 4-3 players, not good 4-3 players but 4-3 players none the less. We can not establish a pass rush to save our lives so we tried a switch to a 3-4 which disquises your defense more by not letting them know where the 4th guy is coming from. After allowing numerous 200+ yard rushing games and still not being able to apply any pressure we went to using multiple fronts, yes we where still bad but not as bad. Of coarse they cant come out ans say it but I think our coaches knew this year was going to be a wash as they filtered the roster to see what they have and what they need, it took some balls to drop Edwards and Lynch and not activate Maybin. Until we get some players that can apply some consistant pressure neither front is going to work no matter who the coach is. -
Anyone else not enthralled by the DLs after Fairley?
Pirate Angel replied to 1billsfan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Marcel Dareus IMO will make a better pro than Fairley and we have more of a need at End than Tackle anyhow. -
Character: Something this team is in desperate need of
Pirate Angel replied to Got_Wood's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
After starting 0-8 this team still brought everything they had against top NFL teams like Pittsburg abd Baltimore..I would say they have character...What the need is good NFL caliber football players -

Id wait to see who gets resigned, franchised, and what other more appealing franchises are targeting before I got to crazy with this. -
Ok it was a nice run, but the blocking on it was awesome, #65 completely blows up a man at the line of scrimmage and he had help all the way downfield. The defense had bad angles on him, played flat, and has been weak against the run all year.

very persuasive...F#$% the JETS
