Do or Die Season For Fitzpatrick
Pirate Angel replied to mjt328's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Describing Fitz's accuracy is tricky, watch the Baltimore breakdown on him on the Bills homepage, he can thread the needle and put it on the money, but occasionally he throws something completely wild. Hes a gunslinger and he has Balls. He reminds me so much of Jon Kitna right now, he can make plays, the team has faith in him, tough player, but a stop gap. I don't expect us to go any farther than the first round of the playoffs with him. -

Here's A QB Question ?? In Lock out Mode !!
Pirate Angel replied to T master's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Nix said they may have 4 qbs going into the season, they could bring in JP and another veteran let them compete. If he makes the roster and eventually plays at least we will have another topic to B word about here on TSW, -
Chan kept saying that we dont have as many holes as some people think. Bell missed the entire offseason and a lot of strength and conditioning while nursing an injury and towards the end of the year he was playing much better, Im not saying he is going to be a Hall of Famer or even a probowler but he still may become a good left tackle. Levitre has been a good left guard since day one. We may have one of the best centers in the league if Wood is moved there. In watching a rerun of the Pittsburg game I specifically watched Urbik at Right Guard and he played real damn well. That leaves us with RT. With Pears, Wang, Hairston, Wrotto (if he is still on the roster) and if we ever get to free agency we could have another addition to the battle we have to find something. Hartgarner is also a solid interior lineman that provides depth at all 3 interior positions. Not to mention Fitzpatrick has never taken all the snaps with the starting unit in the offseason (if we have one), with more familiarity and chemistry with the players our offense can only be better.

Good Year not to draft A QB
Pirate Angel replied to Pirate Angel's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Let us hope our D is much improved. -
Yes unless injuries force him into the active roster. With Evans, Johnson, Nelson, Parrish, Donald Jones, and Easley it will be tough for him to crack the active roster. However he did show that he could play some with a solid preseason and camp he may edge out Jones.

Should the Bills re-sign Drayton Florence?
Pirate Angel replied to mjt328's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yes and I believe they will offer him a fair contract but the question is: does he want to be a Buffalo Bill? With Mcgeee aging and injury prone, McKelvin being talented but brain dead, Corner being bad, and the rest being unproven Youngsters we really need him on the roster. -
With no learning curve larger than that of a quarterback when entering the NFL and with the current lockout I am even more pleased that we did not draft a QB. Without contact with the coaches, regular practices and meetings it is hard to imagine that that player would even be prepared to be a #2 player. With Defense the learning curve inst as steep I'm not saying its not there by any means but I'm more comfortable with Dareus lining up on day one than an offensive player. IMO we will see Aaron Williams and Sheppard more and more after week 6. Maybe Chan and Buddy saw this coming, who knows.

No....I don't see a drop off in talent if we play Wilson, Scott, or one of the rookies. Maybe strong safety by committee. I just watched the Pittsburgh game rerun and I specifically keyed on him, and he was awful. I couldn't believe he didn't get benched during that game, Heath Miller owned him. I use to think that it just looked like he got beat because he hustles to make a tackle that another guy got beat on or we where exploited on a blitz....no he clearly got beat by the man he was responsible for not once or twice but for the entire game. I know Heath is a pretty darn good TE but there is no reason for Donte to get juked out by him allowing 3 yards of separation. I even used the excuse that he has a lot of ground to cover between him and the line of scrimmage but no they weren't short dump off passes or quick slants they where 10-20 yard passes. If he didn't demand such a large salary I would sign him and let him compete but IMO he is not a starting caliber SS.

What position was he playing on the practice squad OL or DT?? If he was showing promise at DT It is doubtful we would have taken another project with Jasper. Now has his footwork improved enough to provide u some much needed depth at the tackle position? or is he being projected to be a mauler at one of the guard positions? We are pretty solid on the interior of our line but if we canfind a diamond in the rough and have an a** kicker on the outside now that would be huge.

thanks for the update....however you may be the only listener they have at that time.

Thurman had a much better supporting cast than OJ. Did Thurman ever reach 2000 yards rushing in a season? I believe OJ did twice in 14 games seasons. Did OJ ever lose a helmet? I think the best way to decide this is to take the Best Running backs off all time Walter Payton, Barry Sanders, Emmit Smith...now off the top off your head can you name there backups? I cant nor can I name OJ's but Thuman Thomas? that's easy...Kenneth Davis. MY vote is for OJ

More to do with lining up behind Bruce Smith than being plugged into a "perfect fit".

Sanchez on NFL Network Last Night
Pirate Angel replied to KOKBILLS's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The differance is a first round draft choice that wins games VS. a journeyman QB who does not. The fact that these wins and losses dont solely reflect the play of the QB is meaningless. Unitill the Bills turn the corner and become a respectable team and can make the post season none of our players will get the respect they may deserve. Look at NFL Networks top 100 players of 2011 and tell me Kyle Williams isnt better than at least 10-20 of the players listed. Until the entire team can start winning and prove the deserve the recognition and respect this is the coverage we will continue to recieve. -

Four Downs on Johnny White
Pirate Angel replied to San Jose Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I diasagree, our staff seems to have a total man crush on CJ Spiller. Johnny is a raw talant that has played all over. IMO he will see spot duty at RB while contributing on special teams and if he developts he is projected to replace the aging Freddy Jackson with CJ in 2-3 years. -
I dont think being a Buffalo native should gived you a roster spot, especially over an explosive player who has been one of the leagues best punt returner.
-
Jake Delhomme...just heard today via NFL network that if he where to return to Cleveland he would have to be signed to the veterans minimum. He would provide a veteran backup that has had some success in the league but shouldnt create a QB controversy.

Trump would try and out do Jerry Jones' marketing the team, that certainly would be impressive if he where to do that with the Bills.
