You cant use a kicker and a punter as examples of roster familiarity ..Texas is considered the West and not the South A 34 year old retired 4-3 defensive end will not help a young team trying to convert to the 3-4. This is like the Terrel Owens signing..it will take away from our younger players playing time and hinder thier development. Schobel was a fine player but his time has past.

He is a WR and will always be a WR, let him build on last season and develop chemistry with Fitz who will for the first time take the majority of offseason snaps. With Easley returning and Stevie coming offa breakout year we should have a very good recieving corps and I can see Evans becoming expendable after the year. Why would we take away from a good thing.

Most teams if not all would have wiffed on Williams, yes he was a huge bust but he wasnt a WTF!! pick like Maybin, McCargo or Whitner at the time. He was a huge talent coming out of college and worthy of the pick at the time. I dont think anybody is really shocked to see Whitner, McCargo, and Whitner not live up to the hype of their draft status. What im saying is that the Williams pick was a huge setback however i dont think it shows the incompetance as much as other selections...

I believe the offered a 5-6 million dollar contract to Donte after the Kelsay Deal was done and he declined it.....Thats very fair money for an average Safety. Signing a player is a 2 way street. Donte has said he wants to be paid as a top 5 corner and Drayton has stated he is excited to test the free agent market. So how can we get better by breaking the bank on average talent? They will offer Drayton a fair contract as they have Donte but if he doesnt sign are they suppose to throw millions more at a 30+ # 2 corner at best?

I love the physical players and emotional leaders they are getting with Dareus and Scheppard, and the versatilty they are recieving with Dareus and Campbell. Not to mention it seems like Dareus and Scheppard want to become Bills and Campbell and Scheppard both sound pumped to be playing with Dareus which has to make you feel good about that pick,

I give them a pass on Williams, he was a monster at Texas and anyone would have wiffed on him, the rest where all very questionable even at the college ranks.. You also forgot Mcgahee, Lynch and even tradiing a first for Drew Bledsoe. You could also throw in some second round picks that added nothing to the team like James Hardy.

It wouldnt surprise me if there isnt a QB taken in the top 10 this year, nobody seems to be all that crazy about any of them we ll my be very surprised as to who falls to us in the 2nd round or even the 3rd for that matter.

our staff doesnt seem to send smoke screens, last year they made it very clear that they wanted to obtain a "waterbug" type runnig back and boom they took CJ Spiller... This year they seem to state that they are very open to a trade down, I think that is the dirrection they are aiming for. Peterson seems to be the only pick thats a obvious top 5 talent IMO there hoping somebody wants to move up and take him. This draft seems to be very deep at LB and DL, Nix seems to be very good at selecting LBs in the later rounds (Shawn Merriman, Arthur Moats), By obtaining more picks we can get some solid defensive players and still end up with a Gabe Carimi or a Kyle Rudolf. They Also seem to be very optimistic about Troupe and Carrington so maybe they arent thinking about Dline as much as we are.

What he said was if you have the oppurtunity to get a guy that can lead you team to playoffs for Ten years you have to take him because you dont know if youll get that opputunity again (meaning drafting as high as #3)..He believes in Fitz and that they can win with Fitz but he is not a Payton Manning-Tom Brady- Drew Brees- Phillip Rivers-Aaron Rodgers caliber player..which is the aim of every team to have.

Newton is the next jamarcus russel/ Vince Young..great athletic abilty to make him and elite college QB, but enough of a head case to make him an NFL bust. This is a very unimpressive crop of QBs in this draft. IMO the best option is to take the best available in the 3rd or trade back into the 2nd and get a guy to develop under Fitz for a year or two and build elsewhere and then plug a young Qb into a decent situation.

untill we can generate a pass rush or some sort of penestration in the backfield on a consistant basis I doubt you will see the defensive backs get called out. Whitner is iffy as far as having to step it up he play as hard as he can and he does do everything he can to help the team and get better he just hasnt lived up to the #8 pick nor was he ever worthy of it in the first place...not all his fault. This staff resigned Kelsay so the obviously like him...he is very out of place at LB and is an average 4-3 DE, when his hand was on the ground he wasnt that bad this past year hes just not that good
