Like Vince Lombardi said - Winning is not a sometime thing; it's an all time thing. You don't win once in a while, you don't do things right once in a while, you do them right all the time. Winning is habit. Unfortunately, so is losing.......This is exactly true for the Bills.. Like Chan said before we need to learn how to win..we have to change the culture around hear.

Wide outs in the NFL are coached that when you run a slant or a dig route against a zone defense you catch the ball and get down. Of coarse this isnt always the case high passes and yardage situations you either have to take the big hit or gamble on being able to dodge it. the size and speed of these players the hit is coming so prepare yourself. This was a statement made by Micheal Irvin the week all those fine where given out, saying some of these hits are the recievers fault for not doing what there coached. -
We beat 2 bad teams, hopefully it gives our oline some confidence. our tackles will most likely be blown up a few times this Sunday.

If Fitz can throw a deepball on target Evans would have made some nice catches by now. Make no mistake about it Evans is not so great at short and intermediate routes, however he can really stretch a defense. Evans talents have not been complimentory of the talent around him, noodle arm checkdown QBs (Edwards and Holcombe), terrible offensive line play which also negates the long ball, and terrible play calling in the past. It has also been stated that Fitz and Johnson developt a chemistry while on the scout team last year. Lets not want to create another hole on this team with this crazy talk about Evans. He may not be the most dynamic #1 wideout on the league but he is a good reciever not to mentioned he hasnt whined and cried about being on all those anemic offenses.

the only thing he is lacking is accuracy, can his accuracy get better with all the offseason snaps with the first team?

Donte Whitner and Leodis McKelvin
Pirate Angel replied to Buftex's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Can you evaluate a DB when you never have a pass rush???? When we do have a pass rush its because we blitz which takes a player out of coverage. I have seen Leodis play great, I have seen Leodis blow coverages, today he got beat by Terrell Owens which happens to most all DBs in the NFL, he is one of the best WRs to ever play the game (like it or not). No Donte has not lived up to his #8 pick but he is a pretty good persuit safety, he makes alot of tackles down field because he is a safety and thats where they make tackles. If your safety is leading your team in tackles it usually means you have a bad defense which we do. -
When you listen to Chan talk about Fitz....

Ive noticed a little man crush Gailey is developing for Fitz. I think he has impressed us all. Lets face it these not alot of 1st round talent at QB or tackle either for that matter. IMO we will be picking #3-6, Luck will be gone but we should be in great shape to grab the #1 DE or LB that comes off the board. Most all the top OT's in this years draft are being labled RT's in the NFL, there should be a good chance one might fall to us in the 2nd. IMO you may be looking at the same offense this year (with the exception of a free agent TE and Easley returning), that your looking at right now. -
good-bye #1 pick there are plaenty of good players behind you!!!
-
you havent been seeing him becaus ehe is a raw 3rd round draft pick, who has been learning the defense and has just been entering the second half of his rookie season. Look around the league most draft picks taken in this area see mostly spot duty or special team action at the most. Our coaching staff must want him to show something on practice before they send him to the wolves.

Fitz has even came out and said that some of the throws he is making now he would have even attempted before is a result of the game time he has been recieving on Sundays.

Roll Call - Who would have preferred to lose?
Pirate Angel replied to The Senator's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
We Will have a good draft selection no matter how many more we win, I doubt we see anymore than 2 more wins. IMO we need to be sold on getting a kick ass player and not be so hell bent on a QB. We need to obtain a player who will be one of the best in the NFL. A Bruce Smith, Reggie white, Jerry Rice, Ray Lewis, Derrick Brooks, lawrence tayler, Walter Jones, etc.. I franchise QB would be great but a great player would be great too. -
or front office best be on the phone with Steve Johnsons agent, working out a new deal very soon

Whats with the tan lines on greg urbicks arm?, who lives in Buffalo and has tan lines in late November??
-
Kelsay has been a solid contributer on defense, is schobel wearing his uniform?
-
oh wait you gave them great field position with that awesome out of bounds kick off which set them up for another 3 points
-
Should be tied Lindell!! .....1 more hole to fill next year
-
I guess the building around Fitzpatrick threads will end this week

Positional Needs for November Needed
Pirate Angel replied to Astrobot's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
WR shouldnt be a priority at all, Steve Johnson emerged as a decent # 2 and we have Marcus Easley who looked good in camp coming back from injury. TE should be on the priority. -
Another option would be to find our stud LT and move Bell back to RT. Since most Tackles in this draft seem to be RT prospects, and usually you dont throw a rookie at LT from day one our best chance is most likely to upgrade RT.
-
Ill pass the blame around, Edwards for not making Calvin Johnson priority #1 in his defensive coverage (or did he), Poz for letting him get a free realease of the line of scrimmage (You know you cant run with him so you either get depth fast or jam him @ the line) and Whitner drifting back towards a player who is not Calvin Johnson (this is Detroits best player if not one of the best players in the league and were not going to key on him when the games on the line?? Whats really frustrating is that out of this young team these 2 are actually the veterans.
