If you look at point system used to trade draft picks, it would take practically our whole draft to move from #10 to #2.

We will offer him a fair, reasonable contract for an average injury prone left tackle. I Believe he will turn it down to test free agency in hopes someone will overpay to get him. A complete offseason of training and coaching as well as taking the majority of snaps Hairston will be better but we will have to add some depth. I wonder if Edwards has any trade value? seems like someone could use a solid veteran 3-4 DE for a late round pick. possibly a 3-4 team has an average LB that would be better suited for the 4-3 Spencer Johnson provides good depth as a rotational 4-3 DT.......I guess it depends on how high our staff is on Kellan Heard. IMO the better move would be to cut Troupe and keep Spencer. If Dareus or Williams go down we would still be in good shape with Spencer Johnson.

Apples and Oranges. Wilson and Peters where both undrafted free agents...meaning that the bills had very little invested in them so they could sit bench and learn the position and they both spent time on the practice squad. This is not going to happen to a first round draft pick, nobody is going to pay McKevin's first round pick salry for a #4 or 5 project reciever

Although he was not drafted by Nix and Gailey, he never saw the field before Nix and Gailey....so on some level would that not make him Nix and Gaileys?

Is the combine fool proof??..no not by along shot. Its to determine athleticism and work ethic. If a player does well at the combine he must have great athleticism not just natural but to separate himself from other players he must have worked at it. In order to succeed in the NFL a player must have athleticism and be willing to work hard at it, and to be willing to but a lot of hard work into something one must have the desire and be driven to succeed with a certain amount of competitiveness. It also gives the organizations some more time to get a better feel of the players that they are about to give large sums of money to.

I've understood why we have let some good players of the past go....Pat Williams (who knew he had another 5 productive seasons in him) Nate Clements ( Unless you are the best at your position, you shouldn't be paid like one). Then some who just didn't want to be here anymore Jason Peters, Willis,Lee. I would even understand if the cant retain Freddy (wrong side of 30 with a 1st round pick thats come on as of late)...would hate it buts its understandable. But I don't think Stevie's contract price was out of the question and he has said he wants to be a Bill It, I will not understand why would let this one go. His questionable celebrations are where well questionable, but he owned up to hurting his team and said there done. I think we see him inked within the next few weeks.

Melvin Ingram out of South Carolina will be a better NFL player than Upshaw. Go to Youtube and watch some tape on the two. Ingram is much more physical, faster, and a better athlete than Upshaw. Upshaw will fall in the draft like Nick Fairley do last year. Upshaw Ingram 2011- 9.5 sacks 2011- 10.5 sacks 17.5 career sacks 21.5 career sacks 2011 18 Tackles for a loss 2011- 15 tackles for a loss 36.5 tackles for a loss career 30.5- career take these stats and consider that Upshaw is generally asked to play the line of scrimmage (rush the passer and stop the run) While Ingram is all over the place covering passes down field, Upshaw has had more oppurtunities at the line. Ingram is also a special teams stud, has returned kicks and caught passes. IMO Ingram will go higher than Upshaw come April.

Let injury prone Bell walk to sign a more seriously injury prone McNeil....Why not save all the trouble and just start Hairston then sign or draft someone to compete or back him up.

I think in round 1 we take Melvin Ingram.....Led the SEC in sacks and our front office loves the SEC. Nix and Gailey love players with versatility, at 6-2 276 Ingram can play DE and LB plus he was a special teams stud. He fits the Chan and Buddy mold all to well.

He goes untouched on several of those plays....others the QB runs right to him. His athleticism seems to allow him to run around the tackles he needs to develop some inside move or he will be taking himself out of the play in the NFL. Do we need another project?
