  1. It will get better with him gone?
  2. He has pretty much ruled out that he is not Ryan Leaf. Give the poor kid some credit. If anything he has shown that he can be an NFL QB, he is fairly smart with the ball, can make some plays, and can win about 1/2 the games he plays in. He just has not shown that he is a legit starter or a franchise QB yet.
  3. Yes it is getting bad when our wives are pitying us
  4. He needs help....he is developing..he does some good things, he cant overcome the drops, the penalties, he's going to get intercepted because he is a rookie. He doesn't need our so call #1 receiver dropping big plays and having passes that hit him in the hands deflected to the other team. Hacketts refusal to find ways to get the ball to Freddy and CJ his hindering the offense as well.
  5. My thoughts on EJ...this was the first game that the he was really "unleashed," previously they gave him few opportunities and relied heavily on the run. At times I wondered during the game if the coaching staff had decided the season was over as early as they gave up on running the ball. I thought despite the numbers he was the better QB on the field. Gannon looked unorthodox and sloppy and benefited by a better cast of receivers. The main thing i noticed about EJ was the he flat out needs help. Stevie's errors are game changing, the penalties are atrocious, and Hackett still fails to find ways to get the ball into CJs and Freddys hands. We need to get the thought of drafting a QB out of our heads...its not happening and we all know it. We need to lock up Byrd badly..we have the potential to field a very dominate defense next season. We should be in position to draft the best WR in the draft, Stevies a good player and should have some trade value, IMO a team with a dominate #1 reciever would give up a 3-4 round pick for him
  6. First round draft pick needs to be a WR...done with the choke artist
  7. Fitz might have been good enough to get this team to the playoffs this year, however someone gave him a contract worth about 20x what he is worth and he refused to renegotiate it. However having Fitz would have delayed the development of EJ who if he remained healthy would have this team in a good position to make the playoffs also. As Bills fans we have been desperate for a playoff birth but Fitz will never be good enough to advance through the playoffs. The front office made the right decision..Its not good not having a decent backup QB but it can be toxic to a locker room to have a vet like Fitz behind him. I highly doubt a playoff birth this year but we I am convinced we finally have the talent to make a sound arrival next year. EJ will have all the reps with the first team and we hardly have the holes to fill as we have had in the past.
  8. Geno reminds me of Losman..Can throw a beautiful long ball but has no pocket presence and makes bad decisions. Talent wise its a tough argument on who,s better. Maturity wise and intelligence wise im going to have to go with EJ.
  9. Very Strange routing for Wes Welker
  10. Who's his competition? EJ who has been out most of the season and Geno Smith? Not exactly class of 83
  11. However we won 6 games a year with Chan...Very good chance this staff beats that ion there first year. Falcons, Bucs, Jags and Dolphins all very beatable teams and then we play the Pats in week 17 which should be a meaningless game to them by then. Spiller hasn't been 100% for much of the season and addition he has had a carousel of inexperienced QBs . With Fitz there wasn't anything schematically he couldn't digest. My point is that Hackett is somewhat handcuffed with the players he has. there is a reason Chan isnt on a coaching staff at the present time.
  12. They've kept us in a lot of games...considering they have been on the field way to much, our secondary was whipped out, and we need some more help at linebacker they've been decent.
  13. The Saints wins have come against the Bucs, cardinals, Dolphins, Bears.....thats really not that impressive, we have both played close games against the Pats..But none of those networks picked us over the Phins either
  14. Maybe old habits are hard to break
  15. Depends on what he does during those wins...Neither has put the offense on their shoulders and commanded the offense. They both have mad some good plays with there feet and there legs. As of right now they're both just athletic game manager
  16. you do realize that this is his only 2nd year in the league and his 2nd defensive coaching staff? Right now its you can only grade him based on his rookie, so the assumption of saying he is average IMO is pretty good, since he was our top corner his rookie season and for a rookie to play average against the top receivers we faced is above average in itself. When he can return to form we should have a very good tandem of corners. I'm guessing he is playing right now because of our lack of depth, Brooks is just starting to come back, Robey is a Nickel-Dime back
  17. As of right now we are still last in our division and playing on the road against the Saints...If we beat the Saints then we can have some crazy optimism
  18. Mario isn't going to need any help. Easely isn't going...as solid as he has played our coverage units are atrocious. Wood and Kiko should be on the verge of going..as of now anyway
  19. Glad to see this post.. I figured Id see a bunch of slamming on him on TBD again this week.
  20. Quarterback, Health, Chemistry id have to say are the missing pieces. QB and health are obvios New coaching staff and playbook with a young squad learning each other which just takes time
  21. The connection I would make is that he doesn't work out nearly enough in the off season. Players with longevity in this league are work out fanatics. Any player can and will get hurt but if you dont take care of your body it wont take care of you.
  22. I wouldn't count on it...as of right now we cant get far enough ahead to force a team into playing catchup or force them into 3rd in long...both situations where a d lineman is strictly going after the QB and not concerned with the run
  23. If my aunt had balls, she'd be my uncle
  24. I give Marrone one thing....He has Balls....hes making moves that he feels put the team in the best position to win regardless of anybodies opinion or how many wtf faces he has to deal with.
  25. Dont think anybody claimed he was the answer, but he is an exiting athletic guy who may be able to offer some help. I don't really get your logic of preferring players who have played in the NFL and have done nothing over a athletic guy that tore us up in the preseason and is hungry to prove he can play. This is a situation where we have nothing to lose none of these players are going to win football games for us playing the conventional QB, so its time to get unconventional and try to win a few games until EJ is back.
