Its funny how much praise we give the Brady/Rodgers/Brees groupd you mention and how quick everyone is to slander some of the others when in fact that Brady and Rodgers never saw the field until they where 5 years in the league and we seem to forget about Brees being so awful the Chargers went out and drafted another QB. Not to mention the first season Payton Manning started he threw 28 ints

They are beatable but our offense must score points and keep our defense off the field, something they have not had success with.

It very unlikely to keep 4 DLs in big contracts Didnt Pears get signed to a decent contract when Gailey was here? That should free up some cap space The scenario is up to the players, would Hughes take less money to be a part of one of the best DLs in football? Will Mario be willing to renegotiate his contract to keep the group together. Both rare instances and highly unlikely. It most likely will be the same situation that we had with Byrd, Poz, and Levitre. All good players but left in the search of big money. Hughes would be nice to keep but he is not worth a huge contract. We have up and coming LBs and Cordy who are more important to keep. Something to consider and i hate to say it is dumping Kyle Williams. He is getting up there in years and our rotational guys have fared well with the time they have seen. Not sure if keeping his leadership would be better than keeping a younger core up front. IMO we are still years off and a quarterback missing of being real contenders, it would be better to have the others for about 3 years or more while Kyle will be gone.

Right now we are still the same old bills. Good enough to beat the lesser teams, however they still struggle mightily against the higher tier teams in the league. The defense is overrated great defenses score points, our unit is lacking and it seems they still get picked apart against the better qbs in the league.

I agree with you, I was wondering if Orton's turnovers and immobility behind a poor offensive line justifies his 300 yards passing over EJ's ultra conservative but mobile play. Orton as a passer is obviously better but he is costing us at least 2 turnovers a game. Outside the JJ Watt pick EJ is generally decent at limiting turnovers. Neither are good QBs but they are all we have so its a really pointless debate

Offense kept the defense on the field far to long...they cannot sustain drives and they turned the ball over, our running game is terrible, our offensive coordinator calls a draw play on the 1 yard line when we have backs that can push the pile.
