Interesting thought on Hock & the Bills on Twitter
JM57 replied to Reed83HOF's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
They measured out almost identical in size at the combine, so bigger target is an interesting take. Hearing Fant referred to as physical is also interesting considering he's more of your stereotypical move TE and has been described as a "get in the way" blocker. FWIW, I think they both can have very successful careers in the NFL. It just depends on what flavor of TE you want. Fant is going to be a guy you can put in the slot and wreck shop that way, but won't provide much pop to your run game at all unless he puts in some serious work. Hockenson should be able to play anywhere you want him. Inline, in the slot, whatever you need but should be a really good blocker as well as a trusted weapon in the run game. If you take the Patriots nightmare offense with Gronk and Hernandez, Fant is Hernandez. A more consistent Jared Cook? 2018 Eric Ebron? It's tough to put a comp on him that isn't slanderous, if he hits his ceiling -

It's worth little other than knowing that the Iowa QB seemed to look Fant's way in the end zone. Other than TD their stats are very close. Fant: 78 for 1083 yards (13.9 average) and 19 TD when his limited freshman action is included Hock: 73 for 1080 (14.8 average) and 9 TD. -

Disappointing to hear that coming from Bills State Radio. -
Very hard to get on board with a guy who will turn 24 in his rookie season. He's already close to his athletic downturn when his rookie deal expires

With the 9th pick the Bills take MLB Devin White

I'm fairly positive the trainwreck of an offense was way more to blame than the defense. Yeah, the defense had bad games too, but usually those coincided with the offense not doing anything either. As far as one guy coming off the field last year (usually Lorenzo Alexander coming off, or sliding to DE and a DL coming off), if in this scenario we are set on playing in the base set all the time, which one of Edmunds, White or Milano is going to be covering the slot WR when there's not enough DB on the field to cover the opposing receivers if they go to a 4+ WR set or have an athletic TE that gets split out? As far as changing to a 3-4 just to think outside the box, let's recall that McDermott and Frazier have extensive experience coaching the 4-3. Are we firing them both just to draft Devin White? Are we letting them just implement and learn how to coach it on the fly? Just nothing about it makes that much sense to me, that's all. -

OKAY, he is a difference maker and there will be no weak spots in the linebacker corp. With our good defensive backs the defense should be outstanding. Now, what about defensive tackle? I would want Oliver but if he is gone, we will be down a tier in defensive tackles and there are a lot of high ceiling 3-technique guys with decent floors available later in the draft that we don't have to reach for. For example: (comments copied from walter football) I see no reason why he couldn't move to the interior. :: We could get a short term 1 year rental of a veteran while these DT develop or just go with the Phillips and some rookie DT's. About defensive tackles, please look at who try to but a value on "disruptive value" a.k.a. (sacks + tackles for loss) per game. Oliver, Saunders, and Zack Allen look pretty good there.https://www.bloggingtheboys.com/2019/4/10/18300761/finding-the-superior-athlete-impact-defensive-tackles-in-the-2019-nfl-draft Say it with me everyone. It's 2019. We need to, as a fanbase, make sure everyone knows: ? STOP USING WALTER FOOTBALL AS A SOURCE. He is one of us, but with money sunk into a website. He is not good. Onto the real meat of the post. Edmunds - White - Milano sounds great but how often were the Bills actually in their base 4-3 last year? Who comes off the field when they go to nickel or dime? -
My group is also staying near the Vandy campus. It was considerably cheaper than anything directly downtown

Who had the most accurate mock drafts the last few years?
JM57 replied to Mister Defense's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I believe it came out somewhere after the draft that the Bills did have a deal with the Broncos, but it was contingent on Denver's "guy" not being available. That guy was Bradley Chubb, obviously, since Denver stayed at 5 and also many expected Cleveland to take him, not Ward, at 4. The Bills obviously knew Allen wasn't going #6 to the Colts, so 7 was the new target -
Why I think T.J. Hockenson, TE Iowa, will be the #9 pick

Walter Football is not a good source. Try again. You'd be surprised. Please forgive me as I post from my phone and often lose messages as I type them if I switch between tabs to research information, so I'll be editing this over the next few minutes. That will allow me to not lose it completely... TJ Hockenson rankings on big boards: Gil Brandt: 6th Mel Kiper: 7th Todd Mcshay: 7th Dane Brugler: 6th Josh Norris: 13th Daniel Jeremiah: 5th Matt Miller: 5th -
I have more than 15 so I called the Titans ticket office for a group sale. Ticketmaster only allowed 4 at a time. Link is below, you can call, email or fill out the form and they'll get back to you https://www.titansonline.com/tickets/group-tickets

I understand your logic but could you tell me who played running back, wide receiver or even quarterback for Iowa? That offense was Hockenson and Fant. If they were wide receivers you wouldn't be saying the same thing. LSU had Jarvis Landry and OBJ on offense at the same time. Guess no one should have drafted them early either, eh? -
Nashville. Hotel reserved, blocked off a group tickets through the Titans ticket office. That's going to be a popular trip

Daniel Jeremiah mock #3 (Hockenson to Bills)
JM57 replied to DJB's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Eric Ebron was hyped for his receiving skills and those only. He wasn't known for his all around game or his blocking. It was his athleticism that got people hyped up. Apples and oranges to Hockenson who is getting hype because he excels in all aspects of the position. -

The amount of Bills fans obsessed with defense in 2019 is too damn high. They haven't had a good offense since the one year with Bledsoe and have cycled through good to great defenses multiple times since then, with what to show for it? Fix the offense. This is an offensive happy league with rules benefitting them. Then you don't have to worry about always holding the opponent to 13 points. -
My group settled on staying near the Vanderbilt campus as the prices were a little more affordable than directly downtown. Quick drive or Uber from there to the Broadway/arena/stadium area

Buffalo Bills Schedule Leaks

That's sourced from a report in February. Based on the other Dolphins leaks today I think it is false. Without pulling it up I think it gives them 4 road games in a row if they are in Dallas on Thanksgiving -

The largest TV market in the country. Nothing inexplicable about it. Same reason the Giants play half their season in primetime or on the 4:25 Fox game. -
