  1. https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/tennessee-titans/adam-humphries-17319/market-value/ Under market value based on comparable signings the last few years (position, age, production, all factored in)
  2. Very underwhelmed by this signing but not worried at the price. Boyle got $6 million to re-sign in Baltimore and he's basically just Lee Smith, at least this guy can catch
  3. Very much so. Based on comparable signings I expected him to get like $10 million a year so the 4 year term at this price is just like....Beane what are you doing bud
  4. Don't see why he wouldn't be it happened relatively early in the season. If I remember correctly both times it happened to Wood it was later in the year and he was still ready for camp
  5. I agree. Not everyone wants the spotlight and the big city. Mario Williams was just a country kid who happened to be a giant human with special football talent. He didn't want LA or NYC. It was nice. The fact is if the team can get some more talent in here and start winning, they might actually stand a chance at getting the elite guys too. I've been waiting my entire adult life for that to happen, of course.
  6. Salary cap hell or not, a 25 year old true #1 WR with a unique blend of size and skill set isn't what you get rid of. That's your building block. JPP, Gerald McCoy, Cameron Brate, Desean Jackson...now those are your cap casualty guys.
  7. You're right, and I'd give them #9 without blinking for OBJ. He is that good. You aren't drafting any WR in this class anywhere who even has a ceiling anywhere near OBJ with that pick. Doubtful. Winston, Evans and Desean Jackson are all wonderful fits for Bruce Arians' vertical attack. Jackson obviously for the elite deep speed, but Evans has the ability to go up and get it in contested situations and that's invaluable. All BA needs to do is teach Winston to push the ball down the field without throwing into like, triple coverage. He's already got the gunslinger push it down the field mindset, now he just needs to learn a little control.
  8. I can't see a scenario where Dawkins ends up at guard this season unless they are able to sign someone for RT AND center in free agency AND draft Jonah Williams or someone capable of playing LT at #9. Any other scenario and I think Dawkins stays at LT. If they sign two and draft one they could go like: Jonah Williams Dion Dawkins Matt Paradis or Mitch Morse Spencer Long or Wyatt Teller Daryl Williams If they don't have that LT capable rookie or get Jawaan Taylor instead I would guess it would be: Dawkins Long or Teller FA or Long Long or Teller Jawaan Taylor
  9. It's easy for us to sell this hope as fans, but the players all know that it takes more than just available money to get people to the Bills. Let's look at it objectively. You're an elite player at your position with the ability to essentially certificate veto a trade by just retiring because you're financially set for life. Your agent approaches you and tells you that the team that is trying to trade for you has the following on the offense you'll be joining: QB: A second year pro who was seen as a high variance prospect with a low floor and sky high ceiling. His rookie season showed flashes of potential and it can be said his floor has been raised, but the accuracy issues, struggles to read the whole field and tendency to run when under pressure continued to show up, just as detailed in the run up to the draft. HB: This team employs two of the oldest active RBs in the NFL. The starter and backup will be 31 in 2019. The 3rd stringer will turn 28 during the 2019 season. WR: This is a collection of misfit toys. Their 2nd round pick from a few years ago has struggled mightily to consistently produce. The deep threat was a UDFA and a pleasant surprise. The rest are waiver wire adds and speculative players. TE: One converted from WR after college, the other from QB after flaming out in the NFL. Neither can block. OL: One position is set. Whether that guy best fits at left tackle, right tackle or guard remains to be seen, but he's definitely a long term NFL starter. There's a journeyman interior guy they just signed that can probably start. The center has consistently graded out as one of the worst in the league for his entire career. There's lots of young depth they are trying to develop. Alright, so there it is. They have a lot of cap space this off-season but need to fix basically the entire offensive side of the ball. You plug one of 9 holes. Are you signing up for this?
  10. Depends on free agency right now. If they getDaryl Williams to play RT, and someone at WR like Adam Humphries, then it's TJ Hockenson to solidify TE as I can't justify interior OL at #9. There's no Quenton Nelson in this class. If they can get Paradis or Mitch Morse but aren't able to land anyone for RT, then Jawaan Taylor is my guy. I think DL is an option for them even though offense should be the #1 focus, and I have no interest whatsoever in DK Metcalf when there are other guys with deep speed that can be picked in later rounds. His agility or lack thereof is not something you can excuse at #9 regardless of his size and freak potential. They went with a low floor ultra high ceiling prospect at QB, far too risky to do it at WR also
  11. I think you're both right here. I think Williams will get a higher cap hit than some are expecting based on how good he was prior to his injury, but may get less guaranteed on the deal than the cap number will suggest due to the uncertainty of him going right to free agency off a missed season
  12. Vontae Davis was 30. Kevin Johnson wasn't even off his rookie deal yet. Not sure of his age but I'd guess 25. I'm also not pencilling him into a starting spot if he does start here, but he does have the ability
  13. At the right cost this could be an excellent buy low pickup. He was pretty good his rookie season and he's been hurt since then. If you can bring him in and get most of the games out of him, the ability is definitely there
  14. Yeah I agree I'm completely on board with either one of the two but a good veteran at center should really help Allen
  15. My worry with Morse is the concussion history. If the team is committing term and dollars to a center, I want him to be available as much as possible to develop a good rapport with Allen and be able to take as much as possible off the kid's plate pre-snap
  16. This is actually exactly the type of shrewd move the Patriots would make. Because he was cut, he doesn't factor into the comp formula
  17. Who will run 40 yards more often, the WR or the TE? 4.7 for a TE is still above average (68th percentile). More important drills for TE are bench press for upper body strength, the broad jump and vertical jump for lower body strength and explosiveness, or shuttle and 3 cone for agility and change of direction (aka route running) Hockenson was above average in all of those categories except bench press where he disappointed, scoring in the 21st percentile. I'm not entirely against Metcalf, but his agility drills weren't just below average, they were literally bottom of the barrel. 3rd percentile.
  18. You're gonna have a really hard time convincing me that a guy that is only a deep threat is worth #9. It's not like he scored slightly below average on the agility tests. He tested in the THIRD PERCENTILE for all WR in the last 20 years. That's a very bad sign.
  19. Counterpoint: I'm a defensive coordinator. Why would I ever let Metcalf get behind my defense if it's well known the only thing he does well is run in a straight line? One trick ponies are not what you draft at 9th overall.
  20. Let's just say he was uhh, below average on the agility drills
