2 Homey's From Bull's to Fill Bill's Roster Spot in 2019
JM57 replied to T master's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
That's okay you can exhibit these traits and still get drafted top 10 ? -
What I remember is that I was so hungover from the night before I could barely drink and I spent serious time questioning my life decisions during that game.

1. Born and raised here 2. The way they hurt me in a new way each and every year, so it always feela new 3. I remember they had a good offense with Bledsoe one year. That was nice. Also when I bought my seasons in December 2014.

McDermott hangs up on Schopp and Bulldog

Ok cool I'll edit it to 2017 then. I was just typing as I was thinking and said mentally "two drafts ago, 2018 - 2 = 2016" instead of getting caught up on the finer details. The point remains. No one was drafted without McD on board. -

Let's talk about the offensive guys they have brought in since McDermott was hired. We all know McD was pulling the strings in Whaley's last draft. No one was picked in 2016 without his blessing. Zay Jones. Average, on his best days. Ducasse. I have nothing nice to say except he isn't the worst OL starter. KB. Huge mark against Beane and McDermott. They knew him from Carolina and didn't know he'd come here and be lazy and terrible? Please. Bodine - was one of PFF's worst centers for years running. Better than Groy. Low bar to clear though. Allen/Peterman - LOL. What about these acquisitions should give me hope for their ability to evaluate and acquire offensive talent? -

Coach (or Nate...or Nate's dad...), log off. -
Mike McCoy is dreadful. He didn't even make it through the season in Denver last year. David Johnson has been just a guy because of McCoy's scheme. Larry Fitzgerald is a HOF WR for sure but he's also 35 years old. This is a stretch. If Arizona's offense is better than Buffalo's it is marginally so. Like #31a and #31b. It doesn't excuse nearly 3 times the production. They drafted the Wrong Josh.

240 yards is just under 3 times more than Allen threw for yesterday and the week before. 240 yards passing with THIS defense wins games. 82 and 84 yards will not win 99% of the time. The worse the passing offense is, the better the defense has to play for the team to even have a chance of winning. The past three weeks, Allen has thrown for 317 yards and run for one TD. The offense, under his direction, has produced 19 points in 11 quarters. This lines up with Rosen's first 3 starts. In the same time frame, he has thrown for 590 yards and 2 TDs. His offense scored 17 points in the FIRST game. Across the 3, their offense has scored 48 points. If you don't see that as better production, I cannot help you.

Rosen had 240 yards yesterday. Allen has 166 the last two weeks.

Technically speaking, 84 yards in 3ish quarters IS progress over 82 yards in 4. Having three fingers is also better than having none, but it still isn't good.
-
He averaged 5 yards per carry today which means he averaged less than that per throwing attempt. Very bad.
-
This is very bad
-
Well he passed for 2 more yards than last week without being able to finish the game, so that's a small improvement. He still wasn't good. He has to show signs of improvement. That seems to be what you are missing. If Josh Allen throws for 250 in a loss, it is a much better sign for this team's long term future than throwing for 80 in a win. This is a QB driven league. Your team is handicapped when your QB is throwing for as many yards in a game as many QBs achieve in a single quarter.
-
In theory, of course. But truth be told I would rather see a 23-20 loss where Allen throws for 250 than a 13-12 win where he throws for 82. A win is a win in the standings, but I would sacrifice short term results for long term success, if that makes sense. This year should be about Allen's development and progress. Games like last week cannot be good for him in the big picture. I really hope having a defacto coach in Anderson to lean on/help him out in real time is beneficial. He definitely needs it.

You think wins are the measure of a QB? You think winning with 82 yards passing is good and sustainable? In 2018? You probably wanted to move on from Tyrod right? Okay, wonderful. Now tell me how last week's passing attack was any better than what we had to watch with Tyrod. Or the week before that against Green Bay. Quarterbacks are performing at a historic clip in the NFL. 9 teams are averaging 300 passing yards a game or more with a 10th, Green Bay, at 299.8. 16 teams are averaging 268 passing yards a game or higher. The Bills are averaging 121.8, just about 25 yards less than Arizona who is 31st. There is no world in which this is good.
-
If you say so. Wins and losses aren't indicative of the development of a quarterback. His performance is. 10/19 for 82 yards is dreadful. Like 12 guys are out here throwing for an easy 350 every week and the a Bills just threw for a quarter of that. How you can see that as a good thing is beyond me.
-
It is the year of our lord two thousand and eighteen, passing has never been easier in the NFL, and this is what we wish for out of our favorite team. How about that Process? I wish for more than 84 yards passing. I wish for Allen to stand in the pocket and go through his progressions instead of bailing out at the slightest hint of pressure. I wish for the #7 overall pick to see guys when they get open. I wish I didn't have the same criticisms of this QB as the last one, but here we are.
-
Sure I am. Unless Allen suddenly becomes a league average passer, this team isn't winning many games. Not every offense is as weak as the Titans. 13-12 isn't going to happen every week. The Packers game is more like what will happen most weeks. With or without McCoy, that doesn't change. The rest of the offense is abhorrent. This isn't a winning team, it is a rebuilding team. Rebuilding teams take assets for players before they have no value.
