McBeane and the hiring of coaching assistants
JM57 replied to TigerJ's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
1) Yes 2) You base your opinion of coaches on their physical appearance? What now? -
Just got a stadium survey from the Bills
JM57 replied to JÂy RÛßeÒ's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Perry complex is pretty much empty at this point right? A lot of infrastructure work would need to be done but they could certainly plop it right there -
This is a guy I really liked when McDermott was hired, but thought he was a little "raw" at that point too. I don't want to see him in the division.

Yes, it would be. If it weren't for my kids, there's no way I'd give them up now after 4 seasons. But I know if I renewed, I wouldn't be going to more than a couple of games and wouldn't even get close to recovering the cost for the others. Everyone's situation is different. If you're in good health and have no financial issues and have slogged through 7, 8, 20 seasons of frustration and give up now? The worst is over!

I'm out for now. It was getting harder to drag myself to the games as it is before my 4 year old asked me after the Jaguars game why I left him all day. I was wavering before that but that one really got me. I'll watch from the comfort of my couch for a few years. Hoping to go to either Nashville or Cleveland though.

Stephon Gilmore - first team AP All-Pro
JM57 replied to dave mcbride's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
You must not have been around here much during his tenure. There were from very loud voices from some very established posters that refused to acknowledge the idea he was anything but bad and overrated. I will forever rub that in people's noses. -

I'll wave the banner all day for Gilmore because people insisted he was bad for 5 years and they were very wrong. -

Have you ever seen him look any other way? This is typical Bills fan syndrome "wah he didn't smile he must have hated it here" -
Yes, that's it. Definitely nothing to do with the abysmal coverage teams.

Get back to packing your office, Danny.

Bills re-sign LS Reid Ferguson - 3 year deal
JM57 replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
That was Jon Dorenbos. Wikipedia tells me the Eagles traded him to the Saints last year, the post trade physical showed he had an aortic aneurysm and he immediately had to retire, but the Eagles gave him an honorary Super Bowl ring so that's cool. -

Report: Bills working on extension for Jordan Phillips
JM57 replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Unless Shaq is starting at DT, your analysis is flawed here. "Top 4 guys" =/= starting 4 guys. One member of the Phillips and Phillips Law Firm is going to have to be the starter next to Star. One of Murphy and Lawson will be the rotational sub at DE. You should not expect to pay a starting DT $2 mil or less. Some of your other points are valid, such as him being a second or third wave guy, etc. But it's just a typical Bills fan attitude otherwise. As a group, it seems we see a "big number" and the reaction of many us to say "whoa, he's good but not X dollars good," and this happens more often than not. -
LOL he sounds like the posters in this thread. "BUT I LOST GUYS"
-
Russ f***in Brandon and the "don't let him off this boat" or whatever stupid thing he said. Ugh, good riddance.

Josh Allen---has your opinion changed on him since draft night?
JM57 replied to Big Turk's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Was not happy with the pick, mostly because he had the lowest floor. Possibly highest ceiling, but definitely lowest floor, and that worried me. I had very little faith in this staff to properly develop him to avoid that floor. After 11 or 12 games, I think he's shown just enough that the worry of his floor has gone away. I think there is a long way for the kid to go, but his floor at least isn't a complete trainwreck. -
He should have been fired last year. There seems to be, in this thread, a tone of "but they lost Wood, Glenn and Incognito and that wasn't his fault..." Okay. Now remember he was not only OL coach but also the "run game coordinator." Now explain going from the best rushing offense in 2015 and 2016 to average in 2017 to putrid in 2018. Explain John Miller and Ryan Groy looking competent in the Kromer/Roman scheme and trainwrecks with Castillo. It wasn't just a one year slide, and shoehorning guys into your scheme despite and awful fit isn't the sign of a good coach. Sorry, but it is what it is. Considering he and McDermott go WAY back during their Eagles days, it's obvious McDermott felt the same way.

Interesting article on Robert Foster
JM57 replied to Billsfanatixs's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Funny when you look at some of the ranks, eh? Laquon Treadwell and Foster 1 and 2. Tyler Boyd 14, Mike Williams 34, Will Fuller 40, John Ross 41, Evan Engram 124, all relatively high picks and with the exception of Ross, established players -

Yes, his team is an absolute train wreck. I feel bad for the 4 talented players left on that team.
