  1. Can't see Marone or Hackett trying anything even remotely like that. I honestly think Marone thought he was doing the team a favor trying to teach OLmen the same way he was. Those schemes that Roman used are not really anything new but what they are is a matchup problem for defenses. Marone was determined to play a game that may have worked when he was a player but is now too easy to defend. I always liked creative blocking schemes. I remember the days of a bruising FB crashing down on a DLine hearing that unforgettable sound just before a RB slipped through and took one to the house. Today the FB/RB combo isn't used as much. HBs are now used because they are more versatile. What Roman was successful with is using a combination of different players..... HB/FB/TE/OLman. The point is, he is capitalizing on different matchups. Going to be an interesting year for sure. Successful blocking can improve the run and the pass....provide our offense with a nice balanced attack.
  2. I would not be all right. I would not have the character that I have today without learning from loss and I would not want to be like the Pats fans are acting right now. It's embarrassing. I am seeing a lot of people in denial over this thing. For them I feel sorry for. But the ones who know that it is cheating and still don't care? Can't say I feel sorry for them at all. The game should always be played on a level field. Neither side cheating, and everything should be left out on the field so that when every player has left the game, they know where they stand. Anything less than that is a detriment to the sport and jeopardizes the integrity of the game. Anyone who strives every day to be their best deserves to have that level field.
  3. Roman has also been known to put additional OLmen on the field. Now just imagine a 300+ pounder throwing one of those blocks.
  4. Nice find Yolo. Finally, someone talking about football. I think Felton can lay the lumber on Suh better than Clay. JMO.
  5. Bellycheat was very quick to talk to Brady and then make him tell the whole team that he had no knowledge of what was going on. He has been around accusations before and knew that he had to distance himself as quickly as possible. What better way than than to step in front of the entire team and declare the whole situation is preposterous and make Brady declare the same, in front of everyone. Bellycheat is not getting away scott free here. And neither is the NE organization.
  6. I have a feeling camp will start and after the coaches start seeing all of the weapons, our offense isn't going to look anything like the 9er's. We have deep threats all over the place. We have have TEs that are matchup nightmares. And our RBs are really good. Add in a productive fullback and the fact that Roman isn't afraid to put additional OLmen on the field, the offense has the makings to be very successful. Our QBs are not going to be clones of what Keap. did in SF. That is the one big question mark. We may not have the greatest QBs, but they certainly are not going to be set up to fail like last year.
  7. Yea, just saw this posted on twitter by Rodent.
  8. Not only that, and nobody seems to have picked up on how crafty Rex was, by waiting for his family to show up before having dinner. Collins will obviously make the final decision on where to go but not without some family influence. Brilliant!
  9. We picked up 2 QBs in FA and EJ still might make something of himself. It's not like the front office ignored the position. A lot of people keep harping on this but to keep using picks on QBs that don't pan out has a cost. It is far better to take a player you are certain at least has a good chance to make the team. Honestly, I have doubts that the 2 top QBs taken in this draft could even start this year, on this team. We have Matt, EJ and Tyrod. ALL three have potential. It's almost as if people want to completely ignore everything other than the QB position in hopes of finally finding their Russel Wilson. "This is a team sport yet nothing matters but QB." Get real!!! This isn't the draft that any of us envisioned. I get that. The sky isn't falling though. We are just going to have to roll with what we got.
  10. Exactly. Fred is going to make the young guys better. Competition is never a bad thing.
  11. I don't think there is a QB in this entire draft capable enough to beat out what we have on our roster. I also think Polian is getting old and is losing his touch.
  12. This is the kind of kid that Richie doesn't even want to attempt trying to bully because he'd end up on his ass. Nice pick. An OLman with a mean streak. Just what we needed.
  13. I thought we were looking for a starter.
  14. Not happening, so I refuse to participate.
  15. I think we trade down from 50 and pick up that team's 1st next year.
  16. That's why the Bills shock all of us and trade TT instead.
  17. That trade could be worth a 1st round pick next year. Now that would be awesome.
  18. If Whaley really is looking to trade down, it will be to obtain a pick one round higher next year. So basically the Bills will move down to the spot where the trading team is, plus gain an additional pick next year. Dealer Doug has his work cut out.
  19. Winfield was sick. The best tackler on the team and he was CB.
  20. When we are sniffing the playoffs in week 16, the Cowboys game could be flexed to Sunday nite.
  21. They are sent to season ticket holders. If you are, just download them.
  22. He was actually a starter in Gaileys offense for a while and did a really good job. Once Glen arrived, he never really got a chance to get back on the field.
  23. That may not be far from the truth. Just looking at Marone's face and his personality in interviews and the rumors of internal arguments, I wouldn't enjoy playing for him either. I remember him being very hands on with the OL in the preseason as well. Seems to me he rubbed some guys the wrong way.
  24. I'm surprised more people are not talking about the impact of having Felton and Clay on the team. These guys can block and that will surely make the OL look better. These guys can be used like an additional OLman and also as a lead blocker. Put them in motion and you can throw a number of different wrinkles in there. I am getting the feeling that the OL no longer is being viewed as a major weakness. Incognito is an upgrade and Williams has had a full year to rehab. Then of the 3 rookies from last year, the coaching staff may very well think one of them will improve well enough to start. Looking at the roster as it stands right now, we have 11 OLmen, not counting our longsnapper or FB/HB/TE. That is a lot of big men now. Add in a different line coach and OC and things could get real interesting real fast. The overall consensus seems to be that the OL is the undisputed biggest weakness for this team. Just saying, with the weapons we have added during the off season, that may not be how the new coaches are viewing it.
  25. This is the year we burn a gaping hole through the Patsy's armor. We sweep 'em. 13 - 3.
