  1. And there are no longer any Polians at Indy
  2. Wow, since the draft is so long, and so many players picked, I just thought I missed Skov getting picked. I saw him projected as a 2nd-rounder. Living in Northern California, I watch all of the Stanford games and he was an impact player but I had read he might not have enough speed and quickness for the NFL. This is similar to last year's draft when his teammate Chase Thomas was projected for the 3rd or 4th round but went undrafted. Since he didn't end up making the team that signed him as an undrafted free agent I guess it was justified and may show that excelling in the Stanford system and in the Pac-12 may not always translate to the NFL.
  3. You must've forgotten the big Chris Williams signing. You remember, the guy who graded out one of the worst of the starting guards.
  4. Damn, they still have Gore. They drafted Lattimore last year (health unknown) and now add Hyde?
  5. C.J. Fiedorowicz??
  6. So, along with Jerry Butler in 1979 and Perry Tuttle (Ugh!) in 1982, Watkins becomes the 3rd Clemson wide receiver taken by the Bills in the 1st round. Hopefully his career is more like Butler's than Tuttle.
  7. And $30 Million under the cap last season.
  8. The current regime probably isn't concerned beyond this year. With an impending sale, if it did happen soon and get approved in October, their jobs are probably safe for the 2014 season, unless they start like 0-6. Beyond that, the new owner may want to clean house and hire his own people, especially if the playoff drought continued. Looks like they may be going for it.
  9. And that's how the Bills were fooled (fools?) on John McCargo. His linemates at North Carolina St were Mario Williams and Manny Lawson. Funny how the other two also became Bills.
  10. Yep, there are also no guarantees. For those too young to remember, the Buffalo Braves (now Clippers) went through various ownership changes in their 8 years in Buffalo. John Brown was the one that wanted to move the team but instead swapped teams with Irv Levin who owned the Celtics and Levin moved them to San Diego. Three years later, Sterling bought the team from Levin and then in 1984 he moved them to Los Angeles. Just like with neighbors, you never know when things could change. Look at the Sabres. After nearly two decades of stability with one set of owners with the Knoxes, they've been sold 3 times since.
  11. Many people don't like Kiper but he's like a walking encyclopedia. I'm amazed when it gets down to the 7th round and he rattles off a couple minute analysis on those players. He was ridiculed but he was right on the much talked about opinion of Trent Dilfer over Trev Alberts, even though Dilfer's career was pretty mediocre. Alberts was a major bust. I found a website called http://www.coldhardfootballfacts.com which has a statistical analysis of correct picks in past Mock Drafts of the 1st round by Kiper, OurLads, McShay, etc. As others have mentioned, quantifying the results is pretty much nonsense as getting the correct picks by position is an impossible task (the top guys got about 25% right). I'd rather be able to review past analysis like: "This linebacker will excel in the 3-4" and see how that player turned out 5 years later. Then one could develop an opinion like "Mayock was right on about half the time" and have confidence the guy knows what he's talking about. The analysis/forecast for QBs would be very interesting to look back on as that's an extremely hard position to judge.
  12. Yeah, and then trade with the Eagles for Matt Barkley and you have the 2012 USC passing game.
  13. Then how do you explain young healthy non-obese kids getting cancer?
  14. I haven't frequented Ourlads but the Bills Digest annually has Russ Lande from that organization do a question-and-answer on the upcoming draft and he's been usually different from the norm and usually wrong. (Ex: liked Nassib if I recall correctly)
  15. I don't know about that. The Niners may have gotten a "brother discount" in getting A.Boldin for a 6th but I think Boldin is better than Stevie. I think the best they might get is a 5th.
  16. I know you have to consider that the final record was 6-10 and good teams win the close games but you have to take a look at some of the losses along with the inexperience at QB. Week 1 vs Pats- Bills hung with Patriots despite being outgained and it took a last secord FG for Pats to win Week 3 vs Jets- game was tied in 4th quarter until Justin Rogers got burned by Santonio Holmes Week 5 vs Browns- game tied after 3 Qtrs- Bills still only down 6 in last 2 minutes when undrafted rookie QB Tuel throws pick-six Week 7 vs Bengals- Bills rally behind backup QB Lewis to take eventual division winning Bengals to OT with Bengals winning Week 9 vs Chiefs- Bills outplayed eventual 11 win wild card KC for most of the game. With 7 pt lead in 3rd qtr, Bills were in red zone looking for another score when Tuel throws a 100 yd pick six. 4th Qtr fumble returned for another score and Bills lose by 10. Week 13 vs Atlanta- Falcons won in OT but Bills were in position to win in regulation time and OT but two unfortunate fumbles killed them.
  17. Just virtually squirted you in the face with water from my flower pin. Ha!
  18. That's a lot of AND's in one sentence.
  19. Some of the levels are reduced only a $1 for pre-season games? Woohoo!! What a joke! Lowest price for a preseason game is $44?
  20. Hmm! Let's see how long it takes before this "new topic" gets the dreaded "This subject currently being discussed in another thread". Over-under: 10 mins.
  21. Please no trade up for Clowney. Can't they see the red flags?!!! His last name is appropriate. He's a clown!! There's a chance he'll be like J.Russell and take all his money and not care how he plays.
  22. The cheerleading nazi has spoken: "No cheerleaders for you!!"
  23. Does anyone know if Stevie was one of the players working out with EJ in California, being that he lives in SF?
