  1. Are you kidding? Kiper's a walking encyclopedia of college football. As quickly as they put up a film clip after a selection, he's all over it. He'll even know everything about the 7th rounders and those players not drafted. He's only a couple years younger than me but I can't remember that much info anymore without notes. The guy's amazing in what he retains on all of these players.
  2. Aaron Maybin was a 10+ sack guy the day after he was picked. The world will end in 2192. Care to wager?
  3. Huh?!! Worst run defense in the league and even Nix says they need to pick up 2 linemen and 2 ILBs and they use their 2nd & 4th rounders on Jauron DBs? How often does a 6th round LB amount to anything? And if they again have one of the worst run defenses and win only a handful of games, this could be their last draft.
  4. Martez Wilson. Bowers is tough to pass on but the Bills have too many needs to take the risk. Opponents may have gotten a lot of rushing yardage around the edge but there was also a lot of yardage given up thru the middle. Even if Poz returns, him being their best ILB is lacking. I wish they could take Kaepernick but LB is too much of a need position.
  5. Hopefully we hear Goodell say: "With the 1st pick in the 2011 NFL Draft, the Carolina Panthers select qusrterback..." so then we know we can get either Dareus or Miller.
  6. Right! As Charles Bizarrekely says: Defense! Look it up! D-E-F-E-N-S-E! I may be wrong but I doubt it!
  7. Yeah, right! Remember Mularkey with the alarm clock trying to get Bledsoe to get rid of the ball?? I don't recall it making a a difference in games. And he was a 10 year veteran.
  8. [ writer who was following his time at Auburn, and this guy was just gushing about how much of a Super Man Newton was amongst othewise very good competition - examples of him running for over 150 yards like 6 times, I think, and one time leaping like 7 yards through the air into the endzone - descriptions of a talent that could translate into one of those players who could give our team a chance to win every time we walk out onto the field - and, I think he is who Nix was referring to when he made those comments about getting that kind of QB. With Newton comes risk. He probably will be gone by 3, too. Since we've had nothing else to think or talk about, I've gone back and forth on Newton, but it's hard to ignore what he did. I know a player's college stats don't necessarily mean much in determining how he'll do in the NFL (for good & bad) but Gabbert had a pedestrian 16 TD passes in 2010. Newton's 50 total TDs are elite numbers, especially for a player in the SEC. Add to this that he took a team to the national title that nobody picked to contend and these credentials are hard to overlook. Sure, Gino Torretta was a Heisman winner who took his team to the title but it's hard to compare Gino to Cam. I would not be disappointed in the Bills drafting Cam Newton.
  9. Gailey's recent comments were interesting. He said stuff like "We told him what he has to do to get there." "He's working at it." This can be interpreted in many ways but I'm wondering if it's his weight & strength. Also, a major criticism has been that he had only one move. Once it was seen on film, he had nothing else.
  10. For similar reasons, I always thought Aaron Schobel was overrated. He'd have 2 or 3 games of multiple sacks but then only a couple more over the remaining games. Too many times he was handled by just the OT across from him.
  11. Does he get any royalties from the FX series of the same name??
  12. When was Ralph last seen? Was it for the Nix & Gailey hirings??
  13. of Roger Goodell walking up to the podium and saying "With the 3rd pick in the 2011 NFL draft, the Buffalo Bills select Ryan... (then the screen goes black with Journey's 'When the lights go out in the city...' playing.)
  14. And the former Bills' linebacker was Blake Costanzo, not to be confused with George Costanza.
  15. Roscoe was an unnecessary "luxury" pick as the Bills had just drafted Evans the year before and still had Moulds.
  16. Just got the latest issue of Bills Digest. As has been the case for the last few years, there was a pre-draft question and answer column with supposed draft guru Russ Lande, who writes for the Sporting News. His pick for the Bills? OT Anthony Castonzo of Boston College. Can't say I've seen this one before.
  17. You mean like when Brees goes 30 for 38?
  18. Since last year's "scatback" statement turned into Spiller, I think this offseason's "quarterback" statements will turn into a QB in 1st round. Newton Gabbert Dareus
  19. Woohoo!! We can draft that 3rd string tight end. Wait, haven't they all been 3rd string TEs?
  20. This is another reason I would be good with drafting Cam Newton. Who is the current face of the Bills' franchise?? Ralph? Chan?
  21. I could give the poster the benefit of the doubt on it being a typo. The 's' and 'c' are fairly close on the keyboard. Watt drives me nuts our when sum people use an incorrect word instead that sounds the same instead of the write won in they're posts.
  22. Exactly. I remember back in the 70's the preseason games were a little less. Then Ralph & others started including them as part of the season ticket package and eventually charged the same price. Greed!!
  23. I believe they have to use more than film when a guy is from a small school in a Non-Major conference. The competition is different. If a guy impresses on film, there's no way you'll be able to tell how he'll do vs NFL competition. A player from the SEC that excels would most likely excel at the NFL level.
