  1. Yeah, it's usually the other way around. A team will give up a first for the following year with position unknown for the opportunity to get a low 1st or even high 2nd to get a player they want in the current draft. Perhaps Maryland-bills-fan has a different interpretation of high and low picks?
  2. And there is an Elton John tribute coming up.
  3. In today's NFL QB marketplace, giving up an arm and leg to get an arm is expected.
  4. until
    First week of voluntary OTAs
  5. I still don't get why the NFL teams refuse to adapt to what QBs are comfortable with in college. Who dictated what an NFL offense should look like? If a QB excelled in college in an Air Raid offense, why doesn't the NFL team that drafts him hire an OC that has been successful with that offense and implement it? Why make the QBs have to "transition to an NFL offense"? The most infamous NFL OC/head coach that actually did this was June Jones with the run-and-shoot. I don't understand why there haven't been more.
  6. I somewhat understand the safety angle of it, but, to me, eliminating kickoffs is eliminating one of the most exciting plays in sports. The crowd goes nuts before the opening kickoff, especially for college games, and sets a high energy level for the home team. This has already been reduced by the NFL moving the yard line for kickoff up, resulting in many anticlimactic touchbacks. You could say that players shouldn't need the crowd to get them up for the start of the game but it's human nature that they feed off the energy of the crowd.
  7. The best chance may actually have been the 2017 draft when the Bills had the 10th pick and Mahomes and DeSean Watson were there to be picked
  8. I thought the same thing. Another “aw, shucks “ face
  9. Darnold reminds me a lot of Brett Favre. He’ll make awesome throws, including on rollouts, then he’ll try and thread the next one between 3 defenders and have it picked off. I don’t know if that’s arrogance, dumbness or a combination of the two. Rosen has the intelligence but does it translate to football smarts?
  10. C'mon, the Flutie vs Rob Johnson debate was major and went on long after both were gone from the team. That division was also for and against Flutie. Nothing else comes close.
  11. Referencing the 1983 Draft, our Hall of Fame QB Jim Kelly was the 3rd QB picked with the 14th pick. Also, another HOF QB named Marino was the 6th QB taken with the 27th pick. Again, it's a crapshoot.
  12. His comment regarding Mayfield: “size is a skill”. Huh? No dummy, size is a physical attribute. Skills can be developed. He likely is not going to grow anymore. He can’t do anything about it except maybe wear lifts in his shoes as somebody here had mentioned. Although I didn’t agree with some of what Simms said, it still tempers the enthusiasm of this draft class of QBs. I agree that the best pick of them may be Allen due to his size and arm strength. During an interview with Mayock at his pro day, Allen said he had been working with Jordan Palmer on his footwork and establishing his base and had already felt improvement. This is good as opposed to a prior big strong armed QB in Jamarcus Russell who in the first practice after he signed his contract told his teammates he could now retire.
  13. Since when has any team been reluctant to trade with the Pats?
  14. Let's go!!
  15. I was thinking I should start downloading them so I can look back after the draft. You know they'll all be deleted before the draft.
  16. I find some ‘pocket presents’ in my jeans when I check them before washing. A bit of trivia for a future Sports Jeopardy?
  17. I ‘m on the West coast so I have 4 hours left. ?
  18. The day has 24 hours.
