  1. When Rodgers was drafted, they did not have the same rookie contract rules. Nowadays, teams can't afford to draft a rookie QB in the first round and sit him for three years; they have to make a decision on him after his third year... As someone else pointed out, Indy becomes an instant threat to KC if they get AR. That is a very good team right now and AR would be a big improvement on 40-year old Philip Rivers.
  2. You aren’t making much sense here...
  3. They have had Love in the building for a full season. We don’t know what they think of him after having seen him close up for an extended period. Maybe they think he’s ready, although I’m sure they don’t believe he’s going to match Rodgers’s production right away...
  4. They consider SF an arch-rival. Can’t see them trading him there.
  5. That’s fair, but wasn’t Diggs in that same situation last year with the Vikings?
  6. There’s no reason to think he won’t. Are you confident that in five years Diggs will be outperforming Jefferson?
  7. That’s true. In that sense, Rodgers has to take part of the blame for the FG.
  8. I recall saying no such thing. What are talking about? I’m sure you can explain it to me
  9. Not sure how you can say that. The Packers drafted a QB in the first round last year. What are they going to do, keep him on the bench until his rookie contract expires? Rodgers could easily be traded... i don’t know what Rodgers is worth, but it’s at least a first rounder, don’t you think?
  10. Jefferson finished with 1400 yards, averaged almost 4 yards per catch more than Diggs and had 1 less TD. That’s pretty damn comparable. And Jefferson was a 21-year old rookie.
  11. Also, I'm not sure why it wasn't intentional grounding, even if Allen had not gone out of bounds. There clearly was no receiver in the area and the ball did not go past the LOS.
  12. Based on his comments after the game yesterday, Aaron Rodgers may be an unhappy camper. He probably feels he's done as much as he can in Green Bay and I'm sure he's unhappy about the reprehensible FG call by LaFleur yesterday and the drafting of Jordan Love last year. If he demands a trade, what do people think GB could get back for him? What teams would be interested? (I'm assuming GB would have a strong preference to trade him to the AFC.) He's under contract for three more years. I say teams like Miami, Denver and New England would be possible landing spots. Maybe Carolina in the NFC. I would think the asking price has to be a first and a second round pick, at least, but it's going to depend how high the first round pick is.
  13. Maybe I'm still salty over that awful performance last night, but I'm not going to give Beane huge props for the Diggs trade. Diggs definitely had a great year, but I would argue that Josh Allen elevated Diggs, just as he elevated Beasley. And you're not even addressing the fact that the Bills could have stayed at 22 and picked Justin Jefferson, who's six years younger than Diggs, is on a much cheaper contract over the next four years, and put up numbers that were every bit as good as Diggs's this year, with Kirk Cousins throwing him the ball. Care to address that?
  14. I don’t think Oliver is a bust, but that was not a good use of the 8th overall pick. He looks like he’s barely better than a JAG-level player. He doesn’t push the pocket; he doesn’t get after the passer, which we were told he would be able to do. And Beane did not draft Dawkins. Under Beane, our day-two picks have been awful. The Ford pick in particular sticks in my craw because (1) we traded up for him, and (2) there were a TON of offensive playmakers on the board whom we ignored. And I hate to say it, but I don’t give Beane huge props for the Diggs deal. It worked out well, but anyone could see that Diggs was a already a very good player, so trading a first (and more) for him was hardly a stroke of genius. And of course the WR Minn drafted with that pick is an ORY candidate, so there’s that.
  15. Beane did not draft Tre White. And Ed Oliver is not living up to his draft status.
  16. It makes no difference. To make it a two possession game, you have to get at least two two-point conversions at some point, so why not go for the first one right away?
  17. Continue hitting on 1st and 2d round picks? When did they start to hit on 1st and 2nd round picks, other than Josh Allen? Or 3rd round picks, for that matter...
  18. Good grief. That was the least of the problems. You’ve got to get two two-point conversions so why not get one right away. Entirely defensible and correct to go for two there.
  19. Exactly. No one should be allowed to post in a football message board other than people who are NFL head coaches, and maybe general managers. Maybe coordinators, too.
  20. I suppose if they wait too long the player can threaten to test the market...which would be in year six or seven.
  21. Using a third round pick on a RB is like using a first round pick on a WR. It ain’t that hard. To whiff twice in a row on those picks is ....concerning.
  22. We need to figure out a way to beat KC. It won’t be easy, but there are teams who have been more successful than we have, for some reason. The Chargers and Raiders both played the Chiefs very tough this season and those teams aren’t more talented than we are. There has to be a way. It’s a dirty little secret that under Beane, the Bills really haven’t drafted that well, outside of Josh Allen, who’s covered up for a lot of their sins. And as great as Diggs was this year, I’m not sure long term the Bills didn’t make a mistake by staying where they were and taking Jefferson, who is going to be a monster...
  23. I think Chris Simms is right...Tre White is a good corner, but he cannot be considered an elite shut down corner because does play a lot of man-to-man coverage against the other teams top guy, like Lattimore and Ramsey. Tonight we saw why.
  24. I think this understates the problem. Not only do the Chiefs have more elite players, they have three guys (Hill, Mahomes and Kelce) who are better than anyone on the Bills and are probably as good as anyone who’s ever played at their positions. (Not comparing Hill to Jerry Rice, but I think he is probably the toughest player to cover that I’ve ever seen.) Allen with continued growth can compete with Mahomes, but there is no one like Kelce or Hill on the Bills’ horizon. On the other hand, neither was a high draft pick, so...
