  1. We’d better not pass on Troy Franklin for an undersized Penn State edge rusher with very little production in college. But of course it would not surprise me.
  2. I agree. It would be the direct opposite of their recent approach, i.e., letting Tyreek Hill walk instead of paying him, and trying to fill the gap with draft picks and second tier free agents.
  3. Keeps Pittman from going to KC, where he was rumored to be headed.
  4. There may be fewer underclassmen declaring, but that’s just a factor of more good players using their full eligibility, therefore, theoretically, more good seniors in the draft. I kinda see it as a wash, unless we start seeing a lot of 24 and 25 year olds coming out. Good topic, though!
  5. Why waste our time with this trash?
  6. A couple weeks ago, Joe Marino did a whole episode on the Chiefs’ MO and how they got where they are. It’s definitely with a listen and highly relevant given that the Chiefs are the Bills’ primary rival and share fact that they are able to build around a top tier franchise QB. Marino noted that the Chiefs have only three starters from their 2020 Super Bowl team, and that since drafting Mahomes, they’ve spent 17 of their 24 premium draft picks on defense. Getting ready to move on from Sneed seems consistent with their long-term philosophy.
  7. My takeaway from the article is this: Mecole Hardman is not real smart.
  8. As I listen and read more draft analysis, I wonder if Odunze is really a sure-fire top 10 pick, especially if he doesn’t run under a 4.55 at the combine. Great college WR but seems like more of a contested catch guy than someone who will separate consistently from NFL corners…reminds me a little of Drake London. Not saying he’s not a really good prospect, but I’m not sure he deserves to put in the same tier as Harrison and Nabers…
  9. Sadly, Chris Berman may now be in that category too.
  10. King was starting to lose it, as demonstrated by his loony take that the NY legislature might cancel the Bills’ stadium deal after the McDermott 911 speech story broke. Any time he ventured opinions outside the game of football, he was absolutely embarrassing.
  11. 31 years old, constantly injured, and has done nothing in the NFL in the last four years. Very intriguing 🤣
  12. Here’s a little discussed aspect of the Mahomes Trade: In the last game of the 2016 regular season, Rex was going to start Tyrod Taylor, to try to beat his old team in a meaningless game (the Jets were 6-9). In one of his smartest moves as owner, Pegula fired Rex, and installed an interim coach (Anthony Lynn?) who played all the backups against the Jets, and lost. As a result, the Bills’ draft position improved from 15 to 10, which put them in a position to make the trade with KC.
  13. I’ll believe we can beat the Bengals when I see it happen. We’re fortunate they’re in a very tough division.
  14. You have to do a lot of mental gyrations to explain why the Bills screwed up here. On the other hand, the Bears passed on Mahomes for Mitch Trubisky and the Niners passed on him for a JAG defensive tackle. Those teams should really be ashamed…
  15. Last I heard, there is no Lombardi Trophy awarded to “Best Team When Everyone’s Healthy.” All NFL teams have injuries. And BTW, our offense was almost 100 percent healthy all season. I can’t think of an important starter who missed a game. Unheard of…
  16. Yeah, I don’t pay much attention to the mocks until later in the process. I see Franklin as no worse than WR5, which means he probably comes off the board before our pick. He would be a perfect fit for what we want…an. outside receiver with good size, speed and YAC ability.
  17. So are people thinking Franklin won’t make it to 28 now? I’ve been pounding the table for him for a while, but at one point he was being looked at as a day 2 guy. I suspect he’ll move even higher when he runs sub 4.40 at the combine.
  18. Hope his doctor’s malpractice insurance is up to date…
  19. Shanahan made an all-time blunder. “Playing for the third possession” is the stupidest thing I’ve ever heard. Hardly. The team that gets the ball second has a distinct advantage in college and in the NFL.
  20. Injury excuses have always carried a lot of weight in the NFL…well done! Maybe there should be an “If Only No One Got Hurt Lombardi Trophy”…heck, they could award it before the playoffs even start!
  21. Except the Chiefs absolutely knew they had to score at least three points on their drive. Knowing exactly what you need is a huge advantage. Way too many ifs to worry about that third possession.
  22. That’s true, but if they fail to convert one time, the game’s over. Why not just take the ball second?
  23. Absolutely true. That is a brutal division and will be even tougher next year. But the Bengals definitely have our number, which is a problem above and beyond KC.
