  1. Can confirm. A Falcons’ regular season game gets about 50% as much attention there as the Univ. of Georgia spring scrimmage (no lie).
  2. By my count, at least 4 rookie receivers clearly had better rookie seasons than the greatest WR prospect of modern times…hell, if he hadn’t gotten hurt, Keon Coleman would have been breathing down his neck. 🤣🤣🤣
  3. In rugby, when the ball is near the goal line, the team in possession often forms a scrum and simply tries to push the ball over the line by shoving the other team backwards, just like the tush push. As you may recall, until fairly recently, it was a penalty for another offensive player to "aid the runner" by pushing him forward. No idea why or when that ancient rule was changed. And no, a simple pitch play isn't really a rugby play (perhaps more of a Rugby League play), although it certainly happens in Rugby Union, too.
  4. Harrison was the Card’s unquestioned WR1, the 4th overall pick in the draft, and the alleged best WR prospect of the past decade…amazing that his numbers were roughly equal to the Bills’ 5th round slot receiver…
  5. Correct. He’s not very quick or explosive…massively overrated—and overdrafted—because of his college helmet and his father… So far…
  6. It’s a rugby play that has no place in football. Get rid of it.
  7. Next up: “Dak Prescott is the most amazing QB and leader I’ve ever played with…”
  8. Makes very little difference. Some teams that get late byes are already all but eliminated, so the bye does them no good at all.
  9. No reason they can’t beat the Steelers and Dolphins. That’s actually a pretty easy opening stretch.
  10. I expect the wheels will have come off the Steelers by then…
  11. The Giants are in a very tough division…their schedule was never going to be easy.
  12. How can you say Cleveland is screwing up? They finished with the second worst record in the league, then fleeced the Jags out of next years first round pick. They are well-positioned to grab a QB in next year’s draft. And it’s not at all clear to me that they are trying to win games in 2025.
  13. Winston delivers street free agent-level quarterbacking at this point in his career. Cousins is older and banged up and should not be starting anywhere. Ousins is a better option than Winston, though.
  14. The point is, he’s often hurt. Being undersized is likely one reason for that. He’s not built like an NFL TE.
  15. It would be great. Bengals always start slow…plus they have a new coordinator, crappy o-line, lotta new players on defense. Best time to play them.
  16. Have to. Teams with HOF quarterbacks in their prime do not have rebuilding years. It’s just not acceptable.
  17. The problem is that the AFC is just so loaded…the four best QBs in the league (all future HOFers) and a few HOF coaches. Home field really is huge and luck plays a big part. Things have to break just right. One thing in the Bills’ favor is that the AFCE is weak, which should make it feasible to get the top seed. Baltimore has a tougher road…KC probably does too.
  18. Perhaps DK should get to know two new Bills—Larry Ogunjobi and Michael Hoecht…
  19. If we’re only talking about 1 season, I would probably take Cooper. People forget that he made a lot of big plays last year…two long receptions on third down vs the Chiefs in the regular season, a big touchdown on a slant over the middle in his first game, and a tremendous touchdown catch in the home game vs the Jets when that game was still in doubt. And of course the famous give-and-go with Josh Allen vs SF in the snow. Cooper’s contribution to that play is underrated; he made a fantastic one-handed catch on a bad throw from Josh, then had the instinct to pitch it back to Josh when most players probably would have just eaten it… I’m a little surprised the Bills didn’t bring Cooper back; they either didn’t like his attitude (unlikely) or he just doesn’t want to play anymore.
  20. Would you rather have Amari Cooper, if he could be had for the same price as Moore? I’m not sure which one I’d rather have.
  21. There is a chance that Moore will get a shot at the punt return job…he did it in college and has returned some punts in the NFL. I think the Bills would love to not have to roster Coddrington, who has no other position.
  22. And yet, we’re 3-1 in our last four games vs the Ravens, including 2 playoff wins. I think that blowout in game 3 this year is coloring peoples’ opinions about the Ravens, when it was really just an outlier game in a lot of ways. Yep, teams that “pound the rock” generally do poorly against McDermott defenses…with a few exceptions, we’ve always shut down top running backs…it’s teams with elite passing games that we struggle against.
  23. but we were talking about the Eagles' 2024 defense...
  24. It is my (admittedly speculative) theory that there is something about the McDermott scheme that leads to our defensive players sustaining far more than the average number of injuries. I'm not exactly sure what the cause is--perhaps its the reliance on undersized front seven (or front six) players--but it's undeniable that our defense gets ravaged with injuries every year, usually just as the playoffs are getting underway.
