  1. This is going to turn out to be either a complete hoax or the kind of story that sucks the oxygen out of everything. Don't really see a middle ground here. That said, if this is true this guy could go down as one of the stupidest people ever to set foot on a football field.
  2. Thinking about the upcoming home game against the Jets.
  3. Did EJ's accuracy issues come up? I assume that he either thinks they are overblown or that they are a function of improving the mental aspect of EJ's game, but pure accuracy issues are tough to correct.
  4. Number of SB wins before Pegula: 0 Number of SB wins since Pegula took over: 0 Terry is cheap!
  5. Time to start booking my flight to Phoenix for February 1st! Anyone have any good hotel reservations?
  6. DeMarco Murray. If Dallas won't just give him to us, maybe they'll take Duke Williams or Lee Smith?
  7. Even if they pull this one out, does anyone think this team is anywhere close to contending for a playoff spot? That was a rhetorical question.
  8. Sounds like night and day compared to Havin.
  9. There has to be something else going on here. Otherwise this makes absolutely no sense.
  10. Can't we just franchise him, or would that put us in the same situation as the Saints were in last offseason?
  11. I agree with you and while I'm not one to point out silver linings of losses, being exposed the way they were today may be hard to sweep under the rug. This team looked like a mess, poorly coached and sloppy as hell. Absent a major turnaround, there's just no way the Pegulas don't remember this one for a long, long time, and come December, there will be accountability.
  12. You saved me the trouble of typing exactly this.
  13. Putting aside the bolding and all caps (which is awesome), the thing that struck me was the lack of equivocation. Not one single iota of ambiguity in the statement. They're staying. Period. Compare that to the Bon Jovi letter in August and all the mealy mouthed language (which was certainly drafted by lawyers and publicists).
  14. So what's the worst that could happen? I get my hopes up and they let me down? Been there, done that -- and probably will again. As others have said, that's the point of being a fan. At the end of the day, it's not life and death. If I have to spend the hours and days after the game on Sunday kicking myself for falling for the same crap again and again, life goes on. In the meantime, happy to enjoy some optimism and good news for a few more days (and hopefully more).
  15. The vote was just unanimous? Not super-unanimous or extra-special-unanimous? How about being done by proclamation? Something doesn't seem right and I'm worried. (Sorry, old habits die hard : )
  16. Completely agree. The Pats look as vulnerable as they have been in a very long time, but I still don't want to play them at their most desperate.
  17. This is crazy. I read that headline without the slightest trace of fear!
  18. I assume the pun was intended when you said "weed" them out?
  19. I live in Maryland. I used to go to Grevey's (in Fairfax) because it's easier to park. It's also a total blast, replete with the Shout song. I've also been to LMT, but it's not as convenient for me. With kids and a family, I don't get to go as much and spend my Sundays cursing the fact that I can't get Sunday Ticket (too many trees in my yard for DirectTV and not eligible for the online version since I'm not in an apartment).
  20. I don't think there's much debate as to the fact that Whaley largely owns that pick. That said, if getting a QB wrong in the draft were an immediately disqualifying event, there would be a lot more unemployed GMs right now.
  21. I have a few things to say on this topic, but need to spend some time replying to the threads on Da'rick Rogers and Ryan Fitzpatrick. P.S. Has anyone seen the Aaron Maybin thread lately?
  22. I have a bad feeling that Ndamukong Suh could make this a very short-lived QB switch after his first hit on the QB this Sunday.
  23. As an aside, does this move happen if a new owner weren't days away from taking over? I've just about lost faith in EJ, so I certainly can't argue with this decision, but it does reek a bit of desperation by a coaching staff and front office that is looking to avoid being swept out of town soon.
  24. EJ. This team (like most NFL teams) is reluctant to admit mistakes, particularly at the QB position. How many years did it take for the Bills to admit that Rob Johnson wasn't the guy, or J.P. Losman, or Trent Edwards? Each of those guys showed flashes of being the next franchise QB and, as a result, it took the front office and coaching staff ages to finally cut bait and move on. Even Fitz looked like he could be a steady hand at the wheel for a good long time, so the team rewarded him with a big extension. If EJ isn't the guy, this team needs to know NOW and move on. And unless people think Orton can lead them to a magical season, starting him would only delay the process.
  25. I really hate these types of articles (not quite as much as the ones that "grade" a draft the day after it happens, but close). ANYTHING can happen over the course of a year or two, much less five. I agree that there's a ton of young talent on our roster now but, as everyone knows, it all begins and ends with EJ. And all that aside, having Detroit on the list of "A" teams really undermines this guy's credibility. That team is going to get old and/or fleeced by free agency a lot faster than they are going to be a force in the postseason.
