Marrone hired as Jags OL coach
Bills Fan in MD replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If the Jags play poorly enough for Bradley to be fired, they aren't going internally for their next HC. If Bradley is fired mid-season, he may get a shot to take over as interim HC, but he'll have to do a heck of a lot to get the gig full time. I really don't see how this works out for him in any way unless the Jags somehow make a miraculous turnaround on the offensive side of the ball and it turns him into a hot commodity for a future job. Not sure those are good odds. . . -
Marrone interviewing in Denver

Why would the Broncos even interview him if he had no chance? He may be a longshot, but I doubt it's a farce. -
Marrone interviewing in Denver
Bills Fan in MD replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'm speechless. Even if he's not the frontrunner, why not go ahead with the interview? The worst thing that could happen is that he is wined and dined and has a nice conversation with the Broncos brass. And no, I don't think there is any downside to being passed over again. Just remaining in the conversation is what's important. I just don't get it -- why not give it your best shot and do your best to wow them and change their pre-conceived preferences? This is really Doug Marrone in a nutshell. -
Marrone interviewing in Denver
Bills Fan in MD replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I really don't have any idea what's going on in Denver. After they lost, I saw something suggesting that Elway was going to try and get younger and cheaper -- which doesn't bode well for re-signing some of their key offensive free agents. If he's truly looking to do a quick rebuild, then Manning's future is a huge wild card and this would actually make sense. On the other hand, if they want to stay the course and make Manning happy, Gase is the choice. I don't have a clue how Kubiak would fit in -- other than his connection to Elway. -
Time to Change Training Camp Location?
Bills Fan in MD replied to BobbyC81's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Why stop there? Since the "curse" really began after the Music City Forward Pass, why not remedy it by also bringing back a 50+ year-old Doug Flutie and giving Phillips a chance for a do-over on naming a starting QB???? -

Great idea -- because superstition is always a good basis for making business decisions involving entire communities and billion dollar organizations. -
This is too funny.... Marrone trys for Jax OC

The schadenfreude would be so much better without the $4 million buyout. -

Yep, and if he wins that love affair will be mutual. -

Imagine that cardboard cut-out in the Rams locker room next season! -
Tim Graham's interview on Buffalo Rumblings
Bills Fan in MD replied to Jerry Jabber's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I didn't have 37 minutes, so I basically skipped to the end. Did Graham really predict that no good candidate would want to take the job and that Schwartz would get it by default (and the fact that he has an existing contract) and essentially be a one-year stop gap? If so, that was about all I needed to hear to figure out how much stock to put into the entire interview. -
Bills GM wants next coach to revive EJ Manuel
Bills Fan in MD replied to Joaquin1119's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
There are so many ways this could have played out and so long as it wasn't Whaley telling the next HC to "make it work come hell or high water" I have no problem with it. I strongly suspect that it was just Whaley restating the things he saw in E.J. when they drafted him and asking the candidate if he had any ideas on how he would approach the situation. I also suspect that Whaley made clear that if it doesn't work with E.J. (or even until it's clear that it can ever work), he'll support the next HC by bringing in some other options, as they did with Orton. -

6th or 7th round pick for Kirk Cousins?
Bills Fan in MD replied to Buffwagonscircled's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He lost his job to Colt McCoy. -
To add to the original list, this game finally puts an end to the 0 for always at Gillette Stadium. At some point, a road game in NE is going to mean something, and when that happens I'm glad they won't also have to deal with that storyline again.

Bills a Trap Game for Denver?
Bills Fan in MD replied to Casey D's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It's a real testament to how beaten down we are as Bills fans to have to resort to hoping the other team forgets to pay attention to us in order to win a game. At what point do we start assuming that the Bills can win a game simply because they played better than the other team? And to answer the original question, a Peyton Manning-led team doesn't typically have trap games. He may simply have an off-day, but it won't be due to lack of preparation or focus. -
Jets at Bills MNF - 2nd Half Game Thread
Bills Fan in MD replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Serious question - could this one be the final straw for Rex? -
What a mess. IMO, he deserved significant punishment for what he did and, regardless of whether he "desperately wanted to play," nine weeks of what was essentially a paid vacation doesn't come close. Without also imposing a financial penalty, there was no punishment. I expected that he would be immediately reinstated, but retroactively docked a certain number of game checks. If that wasn't possible, I guess this was the only solution. All that being said, it's hard not to agree with the NFLPA that Goodell seems to be making it all up as he goes.

Lattimore tore three ligaments and dislocated his knee. It was about as bad an injury as it gets.

Misconceptions about Terry Pegula
Bills Fan in MD replied to 1B4IDie's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Here's the deal. The Bills had ZERO Super Bowl wins before Pegula took over. They have ZERO Super Bowl wins since he became owner. I think it's time we all came to the conclusion that NOTHING is going to change and that we're doomed to mediocrity (at most) forever. -
Beg, borrow, or steal but please get Cowher, or Dungy

I can't stand Dungy. He's a sanctimonious and judgmental jerk.
