Is the Free Agent System biased toward big markets?
keepthefaith replied to ieatcrayonz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
You missed an important aspect of this. The players are also held to the midnight starting time based on the timezone at their location tonight. Players in NY will have a chance to sign first. Guys on the West coast have to wait 3 hours. I've heard that a number of players have flown to the East coast to get an early start. JP Losman actually flew to Guam (14 hours ahead) and has been a free agent all day, but has not yet been signed. -
JP a good fit for the Jets

If I called myself "blind faith" then I might agree with your comment. Looking close at this team reveals little or no reason for optimism. I'm a realist. Optimism without an effort or course that supports it is simply a waste of emotional capital. I'm not falling for this current Bills act. Fact is (and it will be proven as fact when the Bills again fail to make the playoffs this year) that this current Bills organization is not a winning combination. The sooner that change is forced upon Ralph, the better. -
Weak front office + weak coaching + marginal talent = 7-9 or less.

Columbus radio station reporting Bills to sign

It doesn't matter. Dick doesn't like to go deep. He probably sees Garcia as a 3rd string DB just in case. -
And he's barely 6' tall and can't see over his lineman. That is his greatest problem as a QB.

Makes perfect sense. There is usually more than 1 way to remove disparity. Great move by the Bills.

It really is best for this team to underperform again so that Dick is replaced. That's the most important change this team can make if it is serious about becoming a threat in the playoffs. Although, hiring a real GM could might be better. That way they kill 2 birds with 1 stone. Some things you just know and that is that Jauron will never win a playoff game as an NFL head coach. -
Lynch to be charged with 3 misdemeanors
keepthefaith replied to VOR's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
You still don't get it. You can't win the "Repuiblicans screwed this up over the last 8 years" argument because there is no argument to be had. People on both sides of the aisle know that the Bush administration got very little done post 9/11 except manage 2 conflicts. The point is what to do going forward and that the steps taken by the current administration on the economy are disgraceful unless the real agenda is to simply create larger social safety nets for the people on the bottom rungs of the economy. Any jackass can increase government spending then later taxation. Truly capable people would have assembled a much better plan. Seriously, you and I could lock ourselves in a room for a day and probably come up with a better economic stimulus plan than what these idiots have now passed. Our country can do much better. Very seriously, we all need to be outraged by what is being done. And everybody can get off my ass about putting a political message on this board. The Bills matter little right now in comparison and they're going absolutely nowhere anyway with Jauron and company at the helm or with or without Lynch in the backfield. -
Interesting article on CNNSI.COM

He'll be a Dolphin. - Great player for the wildcat offense - South Florida is a good place for him, moral standards are pretty low - Phins need depth at QB - New owner looking for some headlines - Vick only wants to play in a warm climate - Parcells getting softer in his old age - Real estate prices have dropped dramatically - Even OJ found people who liked him there - -
Jauron at the combine

Yeah, you're done until about week 4 or 5 of the upcoming season. Probably a goos idea for us to give it a rest for a while just for mental health reasons. -
Lynch to be charged with 3 misdemeanors
keepthefaith replied to VOR's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
You can't win that argument because even the righties know Bush was asleep at the switch and handcuffed by a leftist Congress. Yeah, I know this is the wrong board for this, but really, throw ideology aside and lets get things right. As for Lynch, he'll end up guilty on one of them, sit for a few games and all this will be forgotten by week 6 or so. Jauron will be in the center of the scope way before then. -
Jauron knows we (most of us anyway)

Keep the faith, please think before you post nonsense on the board. Last I checked we have alot of men and women in harms way right now. A little respect and class please. I thought it was a very appropriate comment given the madness going on in DC. People need to be outraged with the spending which is a disgraceful not to mention an entirely foolish approach to an economic problem. Lynch's behavior is wonderful in comparison to the majority in DC. -

You can love what you do and love the money even if you don't do it that well. -

Kelly was on Fox News Channel 2 days ago
keepthefaith replied to SKOOBY's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He didn't have a lot to say. Mentioned his cause a couple times. Stayed out of the political discussion for the most part with the other two on the "panel" talking more. Threw in a couple of football references. Called Hannity a little guy. Jim should stick to football. On the other hand, it's a great time to be watching Fox News in the evenings with all the horrible stuff going on in Washington D.C. -

Hockey is a great sport and fun to watch and the Sabres over the past dozen years or so have been quite good. You are right that Jauron is a bad coach. -

Cracked me up with that one. -
Right there with you. At some point you run out of enthusiasm for a team like this. Even when it's been a lifelong passion. When you make the investment of time, money and emotion with little or no return on that investment - you find other places to invest those things. The season does look like an uphill battle and confidence in the coach is very low. I suspect that by the end of next season, fandom for this team will be at the lowest level in over 20 years. I'm not renewing Sunday Ticket this year for the first time since I moved away from Buffalo in 1995. Some of the younger fans (under 30) might have a bit more staying power.

Of course. These athletes are smart enough not to smoke weed. It had to be somebody elses.
