  1. Cessna 150 is hardly a turboprop. Barely a prop on those.
  2. Jauron loves familiarity. He'd rather stay in the comfort zone than take any risk with players or coaches he doesn't know well. Turk would be another good example of this.
  3. Here's an idea for the Bills...... How about targeting the best players you can find for a position of need (if they're a proven difference maker) and going after those guys and offering them market value? How about not signing guys that you hope can grow into a starting role just because they're inexpensive. The Bills roster is full of depth guys. Focus on difference makers, and then find a damned coach that is a difference maker too.
  4. Agree. Jets have heated wings. Can't imagine why these smaller planes don't. Cost cutting?
  5. He's had guidance. All NFL rookies attend a seminar or two hosted by the NFL on conduct. He has an agent and the Bills I'm sure advise their players. He had to agree to the NFL's conduct policy. He saw what happened to Burris. These guys dream on being pro athletes and getting out of the "hood" but many of them can't shed those habits or their friends from the hood. It's a tough transition I'm sure. After last year's scare, he should know better. If you feel you need a gun, get a permit and follow the rules.
  6. Unfortunately Lynch will very likley be suspended. Hopefully 4 games or less. Time for the kid to grow up a little. It's tough when you're that young but events like this are the wake-up call.
  7. Don't kid yourself. Yeah, the players in Chicago (I live there) all said they liked him when he was the coach, but no tears were shed when he was canned. They were tired of losing and happy to get a new coach. At least this is what was expressed publically. If you're a veteran player near the end of your career, a free agent, you're looking for 2 things. Money and a chance to win I would think. The Bills will likely be short on both. Brown will get plenty more than the league minimum from someone ($760K) IMO if he can pass a physical, and it hasn't been the Bills' style to sign older guys of questionable health. If he's healthy he can be a very good player and he could certainly help the Bills. I just don't see it happening and I don't see him wanting to play for Jauron any more than any other coach, less probably.
  8. Brown knows Jauron. Tell me why he would want to play for him again? I would think playing for Jauron would be near the bottom of his list.
  9. Probably the most accurate comment in this thread.
  10. I agree, although many would not agree with us. He had the best combination of smarts, athletism and passing ability that I can remember. Too bad his career was shortened by concussions and a guy named Montana.
  11. Optimism is a great quality. You can find yourself at the limit of optimism for things. The Bills have certainly drained that from a lot of fans. At some point you take your supply of optimism and apply it to other things where you get a return on your investment.
  12. Could be and the margin for error at approach speed is far less. Might be just a bad combination of timing and circumstances. Tragic any way you look at it.
  13. Vincent is far too bright and displays too much common sense to be the head of any union.
  14. Agree. Mathematically alive keeps several teams in the hunt who really aren't. 11 wins was the bar for AFC playoffs the past 2 years. Bills were never close.
  15. Yup. Might be his way of motivating the guy, or he really sees it as a weakness and he's not afraid to tell the public what they need to do to improve. Always liked his straight talk.
  16. Well, the only argument against turning over 25% of the roster is if you think 75% of the roster are "keepers". You could easily shed more than a dozen players from this team.
  17. There are some players that drive 7-series Bimmers, but they're usually at the end of their careers.
  18. It wouldn't surprise me to see him in a Jet uniform next year.
  19. ` Jauron puts his stamp of approval on the offensive design and game plan. A game plan that was usually very predictable and too easy to defend. An offense that tipped its hand run/pass the vast majority of the time. An offense that used less of the field in the passing game. An offense that allowed the other team too often to jam the line of scrimmage and stifle the running game. When you make it that easy for the opposing defense, they get more sacks, picks and fumbles. They also stop you from scoring. The stats tell the story. Certainly the players have a large role in the teams performance. Certainly this whole thread is all opinion. Three questions I ask. 1. Do we feel the schemes Jauron deploys puts pressure on the other team and makes it difficult for them to prepare to play the Bills? 2. Do we feel Jauron gets the most from his player talent? 3. Do we have any reason to think that Jauron with better talent can ever lead an NFL team to a playoff win? For me the answer is easily "no" to all three.
  20. Ralph asking for a stadium would not be any further out on a limb compared to a number of things in the house version of the stimulus. The debate on the stimulus now has nothing to do with the poor job done by the GOP or Democrats over the last decade. It's all about what to do and what not to do.
  21. Those reasons are a given. My point is that a free agent QB won't likely come to Buffalo because of the great coaching, the great offensive scheme or for the chance to play on a winner.
  22. I think if any of us had the chance to watch the game down at ground level and close to the action we would really see how hard these guys hit and what a violent game it is.
  23. Name one player on the Bills offense that appears to be playing up to his potential. Better coaches would make a lot of these guys better players.
  24. Yes. A big positive with an outstanding draft this year is that the next Bills coach will have some good young talent to work with which has already been through the rookie experience.
