  1. I'm not happy with the Bills signing any player that doesn't have a meaningful role with the team well beyond the Jauron era. The Bills are simply going through the motions this year doing just enough to maintain their 7-9 niche.
  2. Maybe so, but I'd wager heavily that the Pats can make him more productive than the Bucs. If he also makes the defense repect his speed, he's won half the battle.
  3. I think you've hit the nail on the head (in support of the Patriots decision). Seems to me that if they have Moss, Galloway and Welker on the field, they create tough matchups for the opposition. Moss will command double coverage often, you're suggesting that Galloway would do the same sent deep and Welker just gets open, catches everything and also makes life miserable for the defense. The Pats use the entire field in operating their offense. With those 3 receivers on the field, the defense has to counter with 5-6 DBs. Makes it easier to run, throw to the tight end or a back- plus the Bills DBs play soft most of the time. Brilliant move by the Pats. Once again, they get personnel and devise a plan that puts pressure on the opposition. Compare that to Dick "it's tough to win in the NFL" Jauron who deploys game plans that feature safety, risk aversion and predictability. Pats with the ball = advantage to them Bills with the ball = advantage to the opposition
  4. Looking at this roster, who out there would spent $120 million or so on what the Bills have?
  5. I'm very employed. No need to worry about me. This was not a serious thread. Just pointing out that the Bills and a number of other teams don't compete. They don't do what it takes to win. During the early '90's run, the Bills had a high payroll. There was no cap then. They did what was necessary to compete persinnel-wise for a stretch of years. For whatever reason, they don't do that now.
  6. I hate it and I wrote it.
  7. It might be time to take another look at the AFC-NFC conference breakdown and find a more meaningful and more equitable way to determine which teams make up each division and conference. The current system is a watered down holdover from the old AFL and NFL. Years ago each conference had sort of a personality. The AFC being the more offensive minded with the NFC being the more conservative and defensive minded conference. That seems to have all vanished now and the dream of parity has been replaced by the disparity of revenue with no end in sight. I propose that the conferences be divided based on revenue with the top 16 teams in one conference and the bottom 16 in another. Divisions would then be chosen geographically with realignment taking place every year based on the same criteria. Separate salary cap for each conference. Have each team play continue to play 4 games a year against non-conference opponents. This will return the Super Bowl to the glory years, a David vs Goliath matchup every year. Sure the better players will eventually migrate to the pricier conference, but that's OK. If you're Buffalo, you aren't signing or keeping many of those guys anyway. Why would you want to have to play against them most weeks? This new alignment would also help support decisions like having Jauron as your coach and would make it easier for Ralph and his front office to compete. It would make it easier for the Bills to get to a Super bowl. It would make players like Kelsay and Derek Fine stars. A guy like Edwards could probably promote his own line of gloves like Dan Marino once did. It might keep ticket and beer prices down. It would mean playing in a division each year against teams whose commitment to winning is more like that of the Bills. Why not?
  8. We should be happy for any player makes the leap from the minor league to the big league.
  9. Need him in February? Are the Bills playing in a charity basketball game or something? Maybe they want Marshawn to help the front office look for a new coach then?
  10. Good fleeting moments, I'll give you that.
  11. If the statute of limitations on memories is 7 years, then the Bills have none that qualify.
  12. Might be a little premature to make this declaration. Still have a long way to go in free agency and the draft. I suppose the Bills could still make enough moves to warrant some attention. To this point I don't see a commitment from the front office to win. There are several obvious areas of need that have not been addressed at all. Even if they are, the coaching still looks like the ball and chain to me. The best moves for this team with Jauron as coach IMO would be to stockpile as much young talent as possible for the next coach to work with. I don't think T.O. or whoever else the Bills acquire by September can save Jauron from a mutiny by the fans and ultimately the front office. Jauron is a great guy who is a victim of the "Peter Principle".
  13. Easy now. Jauron would still be the head coach.
  14. Keep him as long as Jauron is the coach. When the Bills get serious about fielding a winning effort, then it's time to take another look.
  15. 6 Sake Martinis Saturday night have put me on the wagon for several days.
  16. Yes of course, but how many of them want JP or Matt Jones?
  17. Since he's stuck in Florida, JP probably gets that job before Jones and it really hurts me to say that.
  18. I don't think that's it. You can take two approaches to these things. Compete or cooperate. Cooperation usually brings about a better result. If one side decides to compete, then the other side is usually forced to compete as well and that's when progress often grinds to a halt.
  19. Yes. He's a "tweener" that has never found the right niche IMO.
  20. Yup. How could anyone on this board not believe that Cutler would be a big upgrade for the Bills? Probably not worth the debate. The Buffalo front office would never make this deal, and given the number of needs the Bills have, it might be wise to invest elsewhere.
  21. Travis Henry was wanted in Buffalo once, actually more than once.
  22. He is better than Edwards. What about this bothers you?
  23. As long as Jauron is the coach, Trent should stay.
  24. I think Skooby has taken enough abuse on the car remark. Let it die.
