  1. Nothing could be worse for this franchise.
  2. Maybin is young and has to develop as both a pass rusher and a run defender given where he was picked. It'll probably take some time but he has the chance to be very good if we can put the athletism to good use. Bruce became a great run defender over time.
  3. Oh please. Brady himself would have no chance of being good under Jauron and co.
  4. Jauron can't help himself. It's a sickness, really.
  5. Good. He needs a good reason to stay home on a Saturday night.
  6. Yes, and the Bills aren't as active in free agency as some teams. On top of that a good case can be made that the coaching over this period of time does not develop players well or preach a winning brand of football.
  7. Actually the weeks immediately before and after the draft are the most annoying of the year. By tomorrow we'll have any number of threads evaluating drafted players who have never lined up for a single NFL down.
  8. Agree. I'm sure it'll be good for the NFL owners, but it hurts the local economy in a potential host city. Too much of this going on in our economy today. My guess is that the NFL will get some fan backlash if this gets close, maybe enough to keep the game at home.
  9. If that happens, it's time to look deeper than just at the player. Frankly, it's that time now.
  10. Bingo. I'm suprised that we haven't already had 4-5 posts in this thread declaring Losman as the turning point.
  11. It is good to see the FO making moves. Without any public say-so, it looks to me like the FO has gone into a rebuilding mode and that's good. The turning point you mention will come next year with a new coach as well.
  12. Jauron = vanilla pudding. The Bills will have an identity when they get a coach that can instill one.
  13. All drafts are critical. This one is especially critical as these new players will be playing for the next head coach in 2010.
  14. When Brandon replaces the head coach, you can then believe that he's making moves to field a winner. Until then, expectations will remain low. Very few don't realize this. Many are just afraid to embrace it. '09 is a transition year. A good draft will help the next coach.
  15. Probably not. Why would he? Playing for a losing head coach and for way under market value. He probably looked around the locker room, assessed the whole situation and decided he wanted to play for a winner now. More money in Buffalo would only solve half of his problem. To me he looks like a smart guy.
  16. Cleaning house would be reason for great optimism. More of that would be a hopeful signal that Jauron is soon to go as well. Stockpile young talent for the next coach. A very good strategy for this season. '09 is a transition year for the Bills.
  17. We should be thrilled with this move. Let's face it, the Bills are going absolutely nowhere with Jauron as coach or with Peters at LT. They'll have the opportunity to draft some new talent which will benefit the next coach and the team as a whole. This team in the playoffs this year is simply an illusion. They don't have the personnel or braintrust in many areas. Trent is young enough that he can rebound from the Dick/Turk debacle once a real staff is in place. We just have to hope that happens for 2010.
  18. Agree. Always liked Madden.
  19. Relax, it's $99 Canadian.
  20. If they were serious about building a fan base in Toronto, they would schedule the weakest out of division opponent to play in TO.
  21. Actually I think the Toronto thing will be a long term benefit for Bills fans. The Bills laid an egg up there last year. It was a horrible game to watch. Jauron is likely to get a similar result from his team this year. By the time this Toronto deal renews, nobody in Toronto will want to see this team play and the Bills will have a new head coach. Silver lining.
  22. I have new respect for General Managers. Selecting players after seeing all of these scores must be tough. Then you have to pay them Millions and hope they produce.
  23. It's a terrific schedule. Just tough enough to get Jauron canned.
  24. Either one works.
  25. 7-9. Buffalo becomes the only team in NFL history to go to 4 straight superbowls and have 4 consecutive 7-9 seasons. Jauron is Fired. Talk of getting Bill Cowher out of retirement heats up. Football Gods determine that Bills fans paid enough for success in the 90's during this most recent decade. Bills return to playoffs in 2011 as division champs.
