*sigh* The '90 Bills are on NFL Network again.
keepthefaith replied to lets_go_bills's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yes, even Jauron could have got that team to 9-7. -
Sources: Cassel formally accepts franchise tag....

Expect Obama's people to be on the phone Monday to impose a more reasonable salary for Cassel. -
Mr. Wilson at it again I betcha
keepthefaith replied to Kenwick's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
There is a minimum cap number as well. All teams are required to spend to the minimum. I don't have the number but it exists. I'm glad to see the Bills didn't spend all the way to the cap on the mediocrity that they are fielding. A 7-9 team in cap jail would be even harder to take. You might be right on Wilson's agenda to manage to maximum profitability which would explain the retention of Jauron who is cheaper than many coaches and unlikley with his personality to push the owner on any matter. While we don't like this now as fans, there could be amazing wisdom in what Ralph is doing. By managing to more profit, any potential next owner could see that the team can make money in Buffalo. That might help to keep it there. -
What is the offensive system run by Buffalo?

With the Bills mired in mediocrity with no evidence of change, sarcasm and laughter is the best medicine. -
JP a good fit for the Jets

Exactly. A good argument could be made that Jauron is killing the career of many Buffalo players. -

It's his understanding of meteorology that is lacking. -

If you knew coaches and players read your posts...

I would write a compelling argument to Jauron highlighting the honor in his resignation. -
Ralph Wilson Holds City Hostage For New Domed Stadium
keepthefaith replied to May Day 10's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Hardly. The Bills receive far less compared to many cities that get huge public funding for new stadiums or money when a new team located. The Bills operate in a completely differently economic climate from many franchises. Lower revenue, lower expenses and lower profitiability than many. Let's not forget above average state taxation as well. If Ralph was in this only for the money, he could have moved the team a long time ago. -
Still a QB situation in Buffalo?
keepthefaith replied to SWVABillsFan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This question can't be answered until the Bills have a new head coach. -

Shouldn't surprise anyone if any ex-Bill coached by Jauron went on to have a good career somewhere. -
Unfortunately, I'm in the same frame of mind. A few tweaks here and there by the front office won't be enough for me.

Hey, that's what many of us said about Trent at this time last year. Just go out and prove the nay-sayers wrong to which we are now saying - "wait til next year". That's OK, Jauron is on something like his 9th chance at "next year" which makes him one tough cat.
-
Don't forget out-coached as well.
-
My "love" for JP dropped several notches this year. He had some opportunities to show well and for the most part did not. I do still feel that he can be a very good player on the right team with the right coaching. Trent looked to me like his game by the end of the year was no better or even worse than where he started early last year. That's a bad pattern by QBs playing on the Jauron Bills. Trent's best hope is that he gets a new head coach soon. JP's gonna get that before Trent.
-
So you believe that the very few players that have spoken publically on the matter are being open an honest and that those few public opinions reflect the real sentiment of the team as a whole? You believe that these young players most of whom have never played in a winning NFL environment know the difference between a good coaching staff and their coaching staff? You believe that the players really have confidence in Jauron? No doubt in that locker room? Only the fans feel this way?
-
Deep down many of you know I'm right but you can't stand to admit it. As a Bills fan, I don't like it either. There's an old saying: "If you do what you've always done, you'll get what you've always gotten". Look at the Bills objectively. They're going nowhere. They'll be an also-ran in 2009. They lack a coach with a winning formula, a front office that can attract quality free agents and pay for them and a coaching staff that effectively identifies and develops young talent. Until they improve these areas, the players won't matter that much.
-
Not at all. Let's get real. The front office knows now that Jauron can't coach. Probably a lame duck season for him. Most of the players know this too which means they're playing for a guy in which they don't believe and one whom is likely to be fired. The fans for the most part certainly see this as well as does the media. Jauron is retaining his coordinators which likely means the same unsuccessful styles of offense and defense will be deployed. The Bills will be irrelevant in 2009. The best we have to look forward to (realistically) is some new young talent to be drafted that the next coaching staff can work with. Maybe a free agent or two. Jauron getting canned at the end of the year would be the best news for this franchise in 3 years or so. Barring some sort of miracle, the Bills will again be below .500. Not negative people. It's real. I should have posted this yesterday. Grounhog day would have been the perfect time.

Yes, shame on me for forgetting to mention the au jus.

What are your true thoughts on Gibran Hamdan
keepthefaith replied to DIE HARD 1967's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Jauron says he likes him so he probably isn't very good as a player. -
One location is at Cayuga and Wherli. The Creekview on main in Williamsville along with Shepard's Pub on Transit have good beef also. My wife makes it at home in Chicago. Buy kaiser rolls, put the salt and caraway seeds on the top of the bun with some eggwash and pop the rolls in the oven for about 2 minutes. Buy a piece of top round beef (I think) and cook that to medium rare. Carve it up, add some horseradish and you've got a very authentic sandwich.
-
Probably not. He'll be another year or two older by the time the Bills get a real head coach. My FA strategy now with Jauron being retained would be to spend as little as possible on players and do everything I could to eliminate highly paid unproductive players from the team so that there is maximum cap space available for the next coach. The Bills are taking '09 off for the most part.
-
No Bills player that is underperforming can be called a bust as long as Jauron is the coach.

Maybe one day we will experience it.......
