  1. Overall I thought the commercials were weak. Have to agree that the Doritos girl on the sidewalk got my attention.
  2. His choice of head coach supports your theory. Wilson retaining him after this season supports a number of other theories.
  3. Agree. That was one heck of a football game, well played by both teams. Very close outcome, several close plays, changes in momentum, drama at the end and some great individual plays by both teams. Really enjoyed it and it shows you how far many teams and orgaizations (including the Bills) have to go. You have to feel great about the Cardinals and how they played throughout the playoffs. Warner will be a big loss if he retires. Matt Linehert needs to grow up fast.
  4. It'll be tougher for Reed. He's not a former olympic gold medalist, didn't die before his time and doesn't have personal relationships with the committee.
  5. Sad but true and funny!
  6. I would do it too. More likely he becomes a Patriot or even a Dolphin. They play a 3-4 and have front offices that are not afraid to acquire top talent and pay for it. I'd bet the Dolphins new ownership will be aggressive.
  7. Yes, but Jauron would screw up his game in a matter of weeks.
  8. Saw a number of Cowboys games that he played. Sure it was fun watching him outrun people. The anticipation every time he lined up wide on 3rd and long. Not saying he wasn't good. Just don't think his numbers or one-dimensional style makes him HOF material. He wasn't a complete player and had only 6-7 productive years. average hands or less. 17 fumbles in his career. Someone mentioned Lofton. Lofton was a far better player. Reed too IMO. If only JP Losman was Hayes's QB back then. They would have been a great tandem.
  9. Saw him play plenty. One dimensional, modest numbers or less for HOF. Good player and a great story coming in as world class sprinter, but not HOF material to me.
  10. Exactly. Ever been to the grocery store an hour or two before an away game? Ever notice people in Bills sweatshirts, t-shirts and hats? How about tax on every ticket sold? Tax on concessions. There have been studies that show that in general, every dollar spent at an event turns over something like 6-7 times. Take a hotdog as an example. When you buy a hotdog at the stadium, that generates a sale to the concession vendor, tax to the municipality, earnings for the worker, a purchase of a roll from the roll supplier, a hotdog from that supplier, catsup, mustard, a napkin, garbage bag, labor to empty the garbage bag, garbage pickup, taxes on nearly all of it. No brainer.
  11. We can disagree. Guys who can run fast down the field, with average hands that can't block are a dime a dozen. His career numbers are modest. Yes, he had big average per catch numbers for a few years and played in a time when DBs weren't the athletes that they are today. Reed along with many other receivers were better players IMO. I do give the Cowboys credit for making him a football player and getting good production from him.
  12. Come on. My hope is that this info was presented to Jauron in the same exact words.
  13. Hayes was little more than a novelty item in Football. Nowhere near the player Reed was.
  14. Hmmmm....... Possibly a late '50's model? Right hand drive?
  15. .....and clone him for the other side of the line as well.
  16. That's great to hear. I have never believed that Ralph would simply own the team until he dies and then let the estate do with it whatever they might without a succession plan. I do believe that Ralph knows what he wants for the future of the franchise and has carefully explored privately those options weighing what's good for his family and the city of Buffalo. It would not surprise me if Ralph sold a majority stake in the team in the next couple years while he is alive and continued to be a shareholder until his death. Finding a buyer who can pay market value or close and that will keep the team in Buffalo is likely a difficult task but I believe it has and is being explored.
  17. Searching "Bently" I found that many people mis-spell "Bentley" as you do. That's kind of like the yuppies that refer to BMW's as "Beamers" when the correct nick name for them is "Bimmer". You don't strike me as a car guy, so I'll excuse you from the error. For the record I don't care for Bentley's. Yes, this has a lot to do with football since some NFL players drive Bentley's and they are definitely wannabees when it comes to cars. Roscoe Parrish drives a Bentley and is overpaid but under utilized by his team.
  18. Nah, but calling it a 3-way tie could do.
  19. I'm not so sure he can get there.
  20. I must admit I didn't read your post, but the title is hilarious!
  21. You could make a case that his first was his best. He had a brand new staff and was coaching players that he inherited from previous years. On the other hand his defense was riddled with injuries for much of 2007and he still finished 7-9. This past year featured a 5-1 start. Well, we all know what happened after that. What do ya'll think?
  22. Right, and now that he's gone we should expect Jauron to lead the team to the Superbowl. The longer Jauron remains, the longer the setback for this team will be.
  23. I ran this by Nancy Pelosi. She said that Dockery provides more value. First of all he's paying a lot more in taxes. That's good. If he's spending his money then he is stimulating the economy more than Trent by a wide margin. She went on to say that she and Harry and Barack plan to raise Dockery's taxes which will further increase his value. She was also optimistic that Trent would play well next year and get a big pay increase, maybe enough to make him equal to Dockery. She really surprised me when she said that the government would consider buying the Bills if Ralph dies. She feels that the team would have the most value in Buffalo since the Bills payroll was low and could be increased which would also increase tax revenue. With elections for both NY senate seats and the Governorship in the near future, keeping the Bills in Buffalo would help to get Democrats elected and to maintsain higher taxation and spending. She did say that Ralph is a Republican and that he is no good. Off the subject of football I asked her why they would wait a year to increase taxes. She said that a larger deficit will make it easier to get tax increases passed. She felt spending first was the best measure and after all, it's not her money anyway.
