I think Daboll and Schoen are linked to the Giants. They have draft capital (5 picks in the top 80) and enough players to build a better team. They will have to cut guys to create cap space.
He battles every snap and might be the only defensive lineman who draws a double team on occasion. NE blocked Star straight up with the center and blocked our DE with TE's and receivers. Either scheme or players don't work. None of our guys can get off a block it seems.
He hesitated looking left, if he takes the ball forward, I think Williams and Morse had enough push. Oh well, woulda coulda shoulda. I was curious why the play before was never reviewed.
I remember after Tampa beat up on them in the Super Bowl reading an article about the path of their pass rush taking into account Mahomes deeper than standard dropbacks. As a result they had him backpedaling all over the field. They also jammed Kelce at the line to throw off the timing.
I think Haack is a better punter. More height on kicks, takes advantage of our good punt coverage team. Bojo was good for a costly shank every couple games and he had no feel for the coffin corner kicks (yes, I am aware he did it on his longest kick last year).
Preseason is all vanilla defense. I recollect two touchdowns on two drives for Josh Allen when he played preseason. I feel comfortable that they will figure things out.
I thought they overdid it with the substance recovery angle for Crosby and the big TE. They covered it pregame and blathered on like they split the atom all night.
With all the what if scenarios being tossed out about the OPI and the kicker, what if Godwin doesn't fumble on a dumb play near the end zone? That game illustrated the need to outscore teams in today's NFL. I think the Bills have that base covered.
LT, Joe Greene, Reggie White, Ray Lewis, Bruce Smith and a somewhat underrated Ted Hendricks were the best I have seen. Butkus was before my time but the clips show he was as violent a hitter as there ever was.
Bills are loaded with talent. Was impressed how much ground Speedy covers on the punt return touchdown, the guy needs a spot on the squad, even if its an injury stash.
Bam Johnson has really come on at DE. Whoever gets cut on the DL is getting signed by someone.
Becker #84 did some nice blocking and made a good grab. Not sure there is room for too many TE's with Gilliam grabbing a spot.
Andre Smith and Ty Adams both looked good as well.
I fall into the fanatical knows too much category, even been know to change jerseys and change rooms if the Bills are struggling. My wife doesn't get it but after 28 years, she at least is humored by it.
