Way to dig deep into the past, I'm sure the guy you were replying to wanted something more recent to make his point........ Ah, the good old days, just a few months ago, back in August, when an entire fan base fell in love with a UDFA Qb named Tuel who lit up the pre-season in Manuels absence and had fans talking about how they couldn't cut this guy to get him onto the PS because he would be snatched up right away by another team. It took 5 weeks into the regular season and Tuels first game action for everyone to turn on the guy and talk about how the franchise made this huge mistake by keeping him as the #2 and not just putting him on the PS
-
But when else can you trade him where his value will be higher? Your not going to get anything more for him if you wait it out. At the end of the season teams can just wait til he becomes a FATeams can talk informally and get a "handshake agreement" from him that they will pay him what he wants when they can. Trading a mid/late pick for a guy that can start and is an upgrade now will help more then hoping another late round pick becomes a starter. I would trade a 1st to 3rd for one (unless they were one of the better guards in the league now) You never know what your gonna get from a player drafted later As for Monroe, I have heard he has been good (not great) and they did it so they can move this years pick Joekel from RT to LT

[closed]Ravens trade for OT Monroe
apuszczalowski replied to simpleman's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
the only linemen trades right now have been for LTs (Monroe to the Ravens and Brown to the Steelers is todays rumored deal) What great LG is available right now in a deal that the Bills are passing up on and not gone after? Since you know that the Bills have not tried to go after anyone, I'm assuming you know what other organisations are offering. -

Yup, cause then in a couple minutes your going to be right back on the field when the offence goes 3 and out AGAIN putting you back on the field. Only difference is the offence was given a longer rest cause the other team stayed on the field for a little while longer since their offence didn't try and rush things. Of course the problem is the offence is executing, any moron knows that. Its easy to say that an offence or defence just needs to execute the plays better. Its easy to say that the defence just needs to force the other teams offence into a 3 and out every time, or stop the run. Its easy to say that the WRs just need to get open, or catch the ball, etc. The point is that just saying that they need to execute things better is easy to say, but not fixing anything. Right now the defence is spending way to much time on the field. Some of it is their fault for not just "stopping the other teams offence" to get them off the field, but its not helping that the offence can't sustain drives. Its also not helping that the offence they are running is intended to be fast/quick, and not eating up clock -
It just seems like this last season especially, the writters sort of gave up and just wrote things on the fly, and did things that wouldn't lead anywhere except fill time and give an actor some more screen time. Things felt like they came out of left field, like first taking out the brain surgeon, then a few episodes later, he's back and is someone else, and now he is Vogls son, etc. I found the season felt like it had no plan or direction, like they just threw episode story lines in a hat and picked things randomly
-
No, actually, they didn't.They basically traded an early 1st round pick in last years draft for a mid to later round pick 2 years from now, if you leave out the fact that they made a deal to move up to get him in the first place. Then throw in that they never shopped him around, cause if they did, there were other GMs that said they would have been willing to give up more for him

Catholic school? I know, bad joke............

What you have to understand is that theres only so many guys a team can have on its roster. In order to sign a guy, someone has to go on IR which takes them out for the season, or released to open a spot. I know, I know, just cut Rogers, he sucks/is the worst CB to ever play football/etc. but you are removing a player from a seriously depleted at the moment position who atleast knows the playbook to replace them with someone who hasn't played yet (street FA) this year and doesn't know the plays. How much better will that really be? unless your willing to say bye-bye to mcKelvin, Brooks, or Gilmore for the year, I don't think theres much room to sign someone right now

Too bad that was one of your better American hockey players that did that last night............ Yup, Canada shouldn't think that Americans need them, they should just think we need America to survive............... -
I won't say I was impressed by it, it was kind of how I expected things to go. I will say that I found the entire final season a disapointment and seemed hacked together. It seemed like they were just making things up as they go along and not tying everything together that well. It just never tied itself together all that well. There were many unrealistic thing with last night, like how could no one in an airport in the post 911 world not have a photo of Hanna with security if they think she is in the area? No alarms would go off to notify the nurses when Dexter turned off the life support machine? Outside no one would see him carry Debra to his boat? A dangerous killer is being held in a cell that they would just let someone into without a guard nearby? The 2 things that I thought were pointless was him throwing Debra over off his boat after turning off the life support. He could have easily put her out of her pain by just telling the doctors to turn off life support, as her only living kin, I think he has the ability to do that. No need to dump the body, no suspisions, and she gets a proper funeral too. Also what kind of father would just ditch his kid with another killer who is taking him to another part of the world. He has grandparents that could have taken him to live with his half siblings and then went off to live his life with hanna and not have to worry about Harrison being safe from him.

The Bills defense so far
apuszczalowski replied to dave mcbride's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The defence held the offence in all 3 games so far this season while the offence sputters to try and get going. The offence is bordering on incompetence right now and can't seem to stay on the field. The first 12 points scored by the bills were all field goals yesterday and they were still in the game. If the Jets defence didn't spend most of the game trying to give the bills the win and extending drives for them with penalties, this could have easily been a blow out by the Jets. The Bills defence should be sending them a gift basket and thank you cards for giving them some extra time to rest yesterday. Its gotta be really tough for these guys on defence to make a big stop, or get a turn over, only to have the offence give them the ball back on 3 plays (3 plays that only took 20 seconds off the clock) This defence is good enough for a playoff team, no defence is perfect and going to stop everything. The key stat is that they are keeping the opponents from scoring many points/TDs and giving the offence a chance to stay in games -
Tebow may have been part of a group of people that killed other people and helped cover it up?I have never heard anyone say they disliked Saint Ray for being religious, I have heard many say that they dislike him because he may have been part of a murder though and they find it ironic that he is now a bible thumper

Whole lot of yapping coming out of NJ
apuszczalowski replied to BRH's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I don't know about that, I've seen plenty of guys dunk the ball over the goalpost after scoring, they seem to do it with ease with all their equipment on -
Never seen him do that once, and as I said, it was no more then "Saint Ray Lewis" whom every one gushes over I would say almost the majority of them. Kurt Warner? Ray Lewis always talked about God when speaking to the press. If you have ever been to a football game after its over a large group of players from both teams usually get together and huddle in a circle where they pray together. Might help if he got a better agent who would advise him against some of the recent signings. Going to the jets was a mistake (as it always is), Signing with the Pats was pointless if you want to be a QB.

He was a college superstar with a Heisman (seems to be the death sentence for college Qbs going to the NFL recently), national championships, school records and more he was drafted into the NFL where people either love the guy or despise him (I assume because people love him) he helped the Broncos turnt ehir season around and get into the playoffs where they won a game, and since then he has been tossed to the curb everywhere else. Thats why he gets articles and attention over someone like Aaron Maybin, who outside of Buffalo where they say he was drafted too early, no one gives a crap about or probably knows who he is Sure the Tebow stuff is over the top, and his fans are fanatics for him because of what he did in college, but I never understood the hatred for him. I really think the media is what fuels the hatred for him, they are the ones covering his every move, making it a edia circus around him every where he goes, and constantly promoting/pushing his religious views. I think Ray Lewis talked more religion anytime he spoke then Tebow ever did. If Tebow wants to make it in the league, maybe he should try going on a coke binge for a weekend in vegas, sexually assualt a few woman and get into a gun fight, then maybe people would start liking him more

Sounds about right, they are the younger crowd thats there not to watch a football game, but to tailgate and drink, then drink some more. It seems the older crowd may have drank alot too before and during games, but they actually paid attention to the game and weren't there just to drink

have you been talking to his wife or somtehing? -
Obviously you take that first, over stupid things like getting onto the field, photos at the Bills logo, or Jills coming to your house. I would be pissed if I was a longtime Season ticket holder with good seats, and someone new to season tickets in the 300 level was given a reward of getting to do something like going onto the field when my choice is between a poster or a Bills yearbook
