Da'rick Rogers cleared waivers
apuszczalowski replied to Floridabillsfan1's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
You can have Manning like talents/ability, but it means absolutly NOTHING if you don't have the right attitude to use it. Da'Rick, according to many here, seems to have the ability, but he has an attitude that will never let him show this ability unless he changes it. He is a waste of a PS spot if he does not come in with a completly new attitude and wants to play harder. Otherwise he just another one of those players who looked good in college but thought that he everything should come easy and not have to work for it when he got to the pros. For a guy who went from a "potential 1st rounder" to an UDFA signed by the lowly Bills, you would think thats enough to motivate someone to straighten up, but from all reports it sounds like it didn't do a thing........ -
I think that if the idea is ever to go with a more aged batman, like it had been rumored was a way they could go to follow one comic series, they need Adam West to do it

Again, IIRC, the NFLPA is only grieving the money that was still owed to him as a workout bonus for the workouts he attended prior to the arrest. He supposedly met the requirements to receive the workout bonus for that time, therefore he should get the money owed to him. Just because he was arrested for a horrible crime shouldn't mean he is not entitled to be paid for his job that was done prior to being arrested and being kicked off the team. This all could have been a none issue and nothing getting out to the media if Kraft wasn't trying to be cheap and find a way to get out paying a player for something they did earn
-
As bad as it sounds, he deserves the money. This is money he earned prior to the arrest. It would be like going to work for a week or 2, then getting arrested and your work turning around and saying we canceled your paychecks immediately and will not pay you for the weeks we still owe you for. You did your job, earned your pay, and should be paid what your owed. Any bonuses or income that would have been earned after the arrest though (like any future bonuses) should be withheld until the issue is resolved. Also the contracts should have clauses about not being paid any additional money that would become owed for canceling the contract due to actions detrimental to the team/league. (So if the contract is guaranteed like in some sports, when the players contract is canceled and they are realised for some thing detrimental to the team/league, whatever remaining on the contract will no longer be owed to the player)

Sorry, not really a comic book Nerd here, get the 2 confused

Time to say good bye to the Preseason!!!!
apuszczalowski replied to Rob T from OP's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Do teams/owners really make any revenue during the pre-season? When you take into account the cost for the stadium employees, player salaries, additional other expenses to put on a game, those games aren't sold out many times, lots of tickets given away, would they really lose enough revenue to make it worth keeping? -
Is Brandon's plan like the Astros ?
apuszczalowski replied to MAGIC MAN's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
you do realise that the "Salary Cap" is just a number, its not actual money. NFL teams don't have a bank account with over a hundred million dollars just sitting in it that goes to the players, and if it isn't used it is given to the league as revenue. The Bills can spend up to that Cap with salaries , but they have to have that money to actually spend (or have access to that kind of money to spend it). Maybe they figured that this year they may end up taking a hit in revenue because they are starting a new rebuild with a new coaching staff and it may take some time to build back the fan base to sell out the stadium, so instead of just spending money foolishly and overpay for players just so they can maximise their spending with the cap they thought they would spend what they need to and try not to get into the red this season. They could have overpaid Levitre, and even overpaid for Byrd too, just to make the fans happy for this season, but whats going to happn next season, or the year after when they have these high salaries on their books and need cap room to try and improve? Both those guys wanted high salary long term deals. As for Fitzs "dead money", the cap will more then likely go up again next year, so putting it off until then may just eat up the increase in the cap next season, they still will have the money to spend to make improvements they feel are necessary. But as for the original point about the Astros, they are currently in the middle of a complete franchise overhaul that includes their prospects and minor league systems. Most teams won't do what they are doing because the fans are not patient enough to allow them to do this the right way. In Houston the fans, coaching staff, and everyone associated witht he team have bought into the complete overhaul and want to make this work. They have built a very strong prospect pool and in a few years may end up having one hell of a great team. They aren't the marlins who do it because their owner is cheap and just looking at the financial side of every deal. -
Heard that too, since he turned that down it may be the reason why they are saying now it won't be a continuation/based off of the last 3 Batman movies

Would ya, would ya, and you gotta wait a few more years

even the one in the middle appears to have similar style shoes onYou could say that about all of their atire, not exactly the typical "State Fair" attire unless you are there for the photo OPs -
They have already said that they will not be doing this as a continuation, the writer or director (can't remember who said it) has said that they have been reading through the Marvel Universe trying to figure out the direction they are going to go with it but it will be a different Batman. I also saw it written that its being considered a sequel to the Superman 'Man of Steel' Movie

Question about the Toronto games...
apuszczalowski replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I have said this before, I really think this is what is going to end up becoming "Tailgating" at all NFL stadiums soon. They are not going to allow private tailgating anymore and go to NFL/Corporate Sponsored tailgate areas outside the stadiums where you will be able to eat and drink from vendors. With all the incidences of impaired driving and public drunkinness at games, it may come down to this being the best way for the NFL and their teams to protect themselves from lawsuits if they can regulate alcohol consumption on and near their properties at games. I have a feeling that the days of pulling into the parking lot with your BBQ and Cooler will soon by going away with tougher rules in the lots. -
many "Non Yankee" Greats have retired over the years without a quarter of what the Yankee Great is getting for retiring this season. Did Cal Ripken get presented gifts publically at every final stop he made when he retired?

Question about the Toronto games...
apuszczalowski replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Problem with the Hamilton stadium was that it was also supposed to be part of the Pan AM Games coming to Toronto and Southern Ontario and it became a huge mess about where it should/would go and what was to be built. Theres no way the bills would leave Buffalo for Hamilton, Hamilton is almost like the buffalo of Southern Ontraio, only advantage is its a bit closer to Toronto and no border bridge to cross to get there. Toronto is where a team would go, and Torontonians won't have "their" team located anywhere else but in Toronto. If/when getting an NFL team in Toronto gets closer to reality, they will build a stadium for them that may also be used partially by the Argos for the CFL. As for the bridge, Friday afternoon if you tried to cross to go to the family day pre-season game, you would have been in line for about 1-2 hours to cross over. All you have to do is walk the parking lots prior to a game at the Ralph and you will see more Canadian plates in the lot then from anywhere else outside of NY State. I take offence to that, I consider myself a real Bills fan from Canada and I don't hate the toronto game because I understand the point to it and what they are trying to do with it which is hoping that they can increase the fan base for the team to strength it and keep the team in Buffalo. Sure, I would prefer to see games in Buffalo because its much cheaper and a quicker and easier drive (if you take out the occasional hassle of the bridge). But seeing as how I'm not a big drinker, and rarely drink when i go to games, tailgating isn't a huge part of going to a game for me. I'm in the minority that when I buy a ticket to a sporting event or concert, I'm not there to get drunk or high or whatever, I'm there to see the actual game. I'm sure if/when the Bills ever move from Buffalo, they could always take the property that RWS sits on now, level it and install a couple of giant drive in movie screens with parking spaces and broadcast any football game on the screens every sunday and just allow people to come out and tailgate/get drunk and many would be satisfied. They would save some money/have extra beer money by saving on paying for game tickets, and they can enjoy the part many have made the focal point of an NFL football game. I'm surprised that the NFL hasn't tried this with other areas that don't have teams yet....... -
Huh? Are you confusing him with Hideki Matsui?Ichiro came over at the trade deadline last season from the Mariners to be a bench player/occasional starter. He has played about 1 full season as a Yankee Even as a Jays fan who dispises everything New York/Boston sports has to offer I have no issues seeing respect shown to Ichiro for reaching a huge milestone, even if its a combination of stats from both leagues. The japanese league his stats were included from is the equivelant to the MLB in Japan. But of course since its not the North American version of the league it has to be inferior. Even if you take out the hits from his time in Japan, he still passes Lou Gehrig with the hit which is something to acknowledge. I would much rather see what happened last night then the constant circle jerk that goes on whenever Mariono Riveras name is spoken the last couple seasons.....

Question about the Toronto games...
apuszczalowski replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If it was the only condition standing between them getting a team and not getting one, it would be built, they would just use the Rogers Centre until its done. They won't build one just for one game a season though and without the guarantee of a team coming there. Theres already talk about the Argos wanting a new stadium and getting out of the Rogers Centre, and even some quiet talk about the Jays needing a new place. I really wish that Canadians would take this same attuitude towards going to games at the Ralph cause guess what, a nice big chunk of the fanbase at those home games have to go through that same hassel and added expense too. -
I don't think there were many here that were really wanting Nassib because they thought he was the best of the class coming out, most just assumed that he would be the Bills pick (along with many in the media) because of the coaches connection to him. If Marrone was never hired on as a HC this year, many here wouldn't have even mentioned Nassib and he would have bbeen taken where his stats would have put him, and where the Giants ended up taking him Who knows where Nassib and the Bills would have been if he was taken, Manuel according to many was supposed to have had required alot of work to reach his potential as a starter, but thats now looking to not be the case.

Redskins want new stadium
apuszczalowski replied to PromoTheRobot's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
How else are the redskins going to keep up with the Jones Snyder should be praised for using his own money to build it, except that it meant he would do it as cheap as possible until someone else will give him money to build a new one that will have all the luxuries -
Distraught Brady fans take to the highway...

I think some places actually allow calls while driving to the police/911 to report issues on the road -
Distraught Brady fans take to the highway...
apuszczalowski replied to Just Jack's topic in Off the Wall Archives
Can phones make calls these days? I know they are mainly used for internet, texting/sexting, and taking photos of your junk (if your a guy) or Self photos of yourself and friends scantily clad making duck faces, but I'm not sure they make calls.... -
Thats my point, PEDs ruin the integrity of the game and all of the players in this scandal can still continue to play when their suspensions are up, or now if they would have appealed their suspensions. Pete Rose never did anything to ruin the integrity of the game, he never gambled on a game of his and did something to throw the game or effect teh results in the game yet he is banned for life. A-Roid, Braun, they should all be banned for life. A-Roid admitted to using PEDs while with Texas AFTER he couldn't get in trouble for it, and according to an article today may have also been the one to leak Braun and Cervielli (his own teammates) names out to the public with this Biogenesis Crap. Also according to the reports, the reason why the league is going after him so hard is because they actually have the most evidence on him being tied to Biogenesis and getting PEDs. And its true, its pretty said that a long suspension for A-Roid is actually a really nice gift from MLB to the Yankees who seem to not want him anywhere near the team anymore
-
So which one does the use of PEDs fall under? The thing thats putting asteriks all over the history books and stats sheets in the league and currently making the game into a big joke? There are also plenty of employers who have written into their employees contracts clauses for termination if they are caught doing something that can diminish teh reputation of the business/organisation. As long as Pete Rose never wagered on an outcome of a game, and then did something to influence that game negatively to favour the outcome in his favour, whats the big deal. He never intentionally threw a game to win a bet. The problem is that MLB was just pissed that he continued to lie and say he never did it. Ryan Braun can win an award for MVP, test positive for PEDs, deny it and win an appeal on a technicality (never proving that the test results were wrong but that they shouldn't be allowed to be used cause of a technicality), brag about beating the system, and then get caught making the league, the brewers (and Aaron Rodgers) look like fools and he gets off with a season ending suspension where he will only lose a small percentage of his guaranteed pay (less then 10%)

Doubtful, I think Wood was already a starter for the Bills when Lynch was drafted.....

The Colts should probably just fold their franchise now, they lost to the Bills in Pre-season game #1, thats it, seasons over now........
