Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D
apuszczalowski replied to BillsWatch's topic in Off the Wall Archives
Is there really any new show this season thats actually worth watching? I was just thinking the other day, I can't think of a new show that I have been able to get into and I find most nights that if there isn't a Baseball, hockey, or football game on, I'm watching repeats of other shows or Shows on HGTV and the Food network -
the thing about this map and its results, does it count Real AND Fake?

So because he has been excelling at running down the field and tackling the guy catching a punt, he should be given a chance to go out and play WR??I'm glad you don't have a hand in deciding who gets playing time on the field. no one is saying he should be limited or taken out of his special teams role where he has been great, but that doesn't mean he deserves to play WR, unless he starts showing he can catch the ball and make plays as a WR. The 2 jobs have nothing to do with each other

Fans aren't saying that Easley should be given a chance because of his special teams play, they are saying to give him a chance because they think the other guys suck and he can't be all that bad, he looked good when they saw him at times in Training Camp or Pre-Season, plus he stuck for so long on this team while he couldn't see the field due to injuries so there must be something special........

Matt Flynn on flight to Buffalo, (update - now signed)
apuszczalowski replied to Punch's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This is a weird move to me, makes me wonder if theres something up behind the scenes and someone is more injured then they are letting on about. I don't think Flynn was signed just to gain intel on the Dolphins head coach, they haven't been on the same team in years, and the Dolphins have him as a HC not a co-ordinator Because they had this workout scheduled pre-Bengals game, it doesn't appear to be that this move was made to fill in for Lewis since hes hurt, looks more like they want some more experience at QB moving forward just in case. I would assume they are going to try and get Tuel onto the PS now that its at a point in the season where he didn't look good in an actual game, and teams already have the PS's full. Unless of course they see Thad as a better option as a development/backup QB then Tuel and they will release him completely when Manuels back and Lewis becomes their developmental QB/future backup. Still seems weird seeing how Thad played a good game and at times looked just as good or better then EJ out there, and they go ahead and sign someone else that they say could end up starting, while having just signed another guy to their PS last week. -
Tickets left for Bengals game

Theres always excuses why the "NFLs greatest fans" who deserve their team can't sell out the cheapest tickets in the league. -
Thaddeus Lewis starting against Bengals
apuszczalowski replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Its not hard to understand, Dixon goes to the PS because he doesn't know the offence, and because even if he did, it would require them to have to make another roster move on the active roster to add him (Cutting someone or putting someone else on IR for the season, etc.) The Bills aren't looking at the season right now as one where games are "must wins", they are trying to build a team and are using this season to develop players and gain experience so they will be closer next year. This is a team that just started over again with another rebuild this offseason. They could move Tuel to the PS, but then they may risk losing him, and thats something that the organisation doesn't want to happen, they think he could become something special over time. They feel he knows the offence enough that he can atleast fill in for the rest of a game if the starter goes down. From what it sounds like, last week was probably they worst week for them to have their starter go down to injury during the game and have to put the backup in because ti was the one week where they were crunched for time and could not spend time letting the backup get reps with the first team and thats why they feel Tuel looked out of sync with the WRs. They see something in him right now, but they don't feel he is ready to handle the starting job yet for them if needed. Right now, it appears that for this season, the team is focused more on developing players, then worrying about winning a couple extra games. I'm not going to argue if that is the right or wrong approach for them to take, but thats whats apparently going on and explains their actions this year so far -

Who says they thought Tuel was ready? Again, as Marrone has said, they are high on Tuel as a future/development QB guy and did not want to risk losing him after the Preseason if they had to put him on waivers to get him onto the Practice Squad so they kept him on the roster knowing they could put Lewis on the PS and bring him in to replace EJ if he had to miss anything more then the game they were playing in. They never said they thought Tuel was good enough to start in this league right now, and thats exactly their reasoning for not starting him now and putting Lewis in while bringing in Dixon to replace Lewis on the PS. Tuel at this time is going to go in and take some lumps to finish out a game if the starter goes down, hoping that he will be able to atleast hold them in a game or just get them through it. -
So I'm assuming the Bills did not actually sign Pat White last night as reported? sounds like with this move they are going to since he was scheduled to come in for a tryout today. Otherwise there is no point getting rid of Flynn today unless they needed a roster spot for someone else

Its simple and has been explained a few times already (with comments directly from the coach himself). They think highly enough of Tuels potential to be a good QB in the future for this team, and a guy worth developing. With the way he performed in the pre-season, they knew he would not last if they released him to try and sneak him onto the practice squad at the time so he had to stay on the active roster. They like Lewis also and feel he has the better chance at being successful right now, and he was the easier player to sneak onto the PS they decided that they would make Tuel the #2 and Lewis would be the #3 on the PS. I think the way they looked at it this season was that if EJ goes down in game, Tuel can fill the position and get them through the game. He might not be someone who can step in and win a game for them if they were down, but he can call the plays and run the offence to get them through. If EJ is to be out for more then just that game, they could bring up Lewis or try and find a street FA to fill in. They did say EJs replacement would come from outside the organisation, so it does look like Lewis will get the start this week because he is more familiar with the offence then a Street FA, but once they can get the FA up to speed (by the next game after the Bengals?) Lewis will go back to the PS or they may move Tuel there assuming now that teams probably won't try and poach him for their active roster. -
people seriously think that one player is going to turn around that franchise in Jacksonville? The Colts already had a core/base in place when they lucked into Luck. The jags are a complete mess of a team. So what if they have the #1 pick, how many of the guys who were locks to be the #1 pick and great players come in and bombed?

I wouldn't get too cocky just yet, they still have to play tonight, hopefully Atlanta plays like they should and beats them..........

They would throw the usual tantrums about how bad this franchise is for IRing Hopkins when he could be healthy during the year and how since Carpenter is older it was obvious he might not last through the year. just more of the same old, same old from the crowd here............ Oh, and then there would be a few guys asking if the Bills could take Hopkins of the IR list so he could play again this year remember the comments about how Carpenter was done when the Bills signed him to replace Hopkins til he got healthy? -

I don't even think money was much of a factor for Freeman, Tampa is stilling paying him his salary if he plays or not. But Minnesota is looking for a #1 QB, they are giving up on Ponder, and have the chance to sign a young #1 QB who appears to need a change of scenery and was cut just because the coach didn't like him and he wasn't the coaches guy. If he plays well, he has the job. In Buffalo, he gets a few weeks to learn an offence and show he can be a #1 guy again and then has to go find a new team and learn another new offence this offseason because unless he has a stellar few weeks here, he won't be taking over the job from the Bills first pick in this years draft. -
Pat White not signed at this time
apuszczalowski replied to FluffHead's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It was either he makes the Redskins as their #3, behind RGIII and Cousins, or he becomes a FA. Redskins went with proven NFL experience over more "potential" and inexperience, that's why Grossman beat him out -
Normally I can take it off no problem, but for some reason from this computer I couldn't. This computer also will not let me hit Enter to go to the next line. I have to just type everything into one paragraph

I'm not horrible disappointed with White, the worst that happens is he starts, sucks, and they lose a bunch of games, kind of what most people expected here anyways. If he plays great and they win a few games, great, we now have a decent backup QB behind EJ. Freeman was never coming here, for his best chance at taking over a teams starting job, his limited choices would be Oakland, Jacksonville, or Minneosota basically. Minneosota is the most attractive spot because its probably the closest to being just a QB away. With Buffalo he is going to get pushed back to the #2 spot behind EJ when he is healthy, unless he looks like the next Brady/Manning out there

Injured and just moved up to #2 (Well, technically staying at #2 since Hoyer was their #3 and jumped Campbell to start apparently) in Cleveland now that Hoyer is done -
The Vikings have one win against a bad Steelers team, they are done with Ponder and are looking for a long term solution. If they are considering him, he won't be the backup to Cassels whos already proven to be a full time starter. If they sign Freeman he will be the starter and if he plays well the rest of this season he will be their full time guy. With the Bills, he has to light things up and have some amazing games to even have a chance to be considered as a starter when EJs healthy. The Bills have their starter now and unless he has no better offer, I don't think he comes here
-
Yeah, don't quite understand the 49ers as a potential spot unless its just to be around a team that is a SB contender. Vikings are his best spot because they seem done with Ponder and would love an upgrade. Come in and play a good few games and you have a starting job. in Buffalo, unless you blow the team away, your a starter until EJ comes back then your on the bench until they agree to release you for free or you become a FA this offseason
-
Funny how the first post at the start of September were all about how they should have just cut Kolb cause Tuel can be the back-up and is better, now that Tuel gets into a game its about if he can come back from IR and play Ugh, don't know why that showed up with strikethrough on but it won't come off
-
yeah, explain that to the NFL Players Association, they may have a problem with a team stashing players on IR who don't have injuries that will actually keep them out for the season.........
-
Good, another cost saving move by the BillsBring Morgan Freeman in to Qb and this will also allow them to fire the guy they get to do voice overs for promotions/commercials, and in game announcements! If I was Freeman, the second that I was cut I would have had my agent booking me a flight to Minneosota with a football and a couple of guys to catch it and just stood in the front offices parking lot playing catch. Thats the best spot for him right now to be a starter. He won't come to Buffalo unless Manuel is done for a long time (don't see that happening unless his knee got worse on the sidelines), its a waste for him to sign here because he won't have the chance to show what he can do unless manuel becomes injury prone. Even Cleveland would be tough after Weedons performance last night and Hoyers performance the last 2 games. If Hoyer is done for the year it might make more sence because they will probably give up on Weedon again during their next loss.
