GDT: 2018 Draft Day 2 - Rounds 2 and 3
apuszczalowski replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Hard to call it a reach when the Cardinals were supposedly trying to make the same deal with Tampa to get him when the Bill's did...... It's a reach of they took him at 7 when they could have waited till 12th or 22nd. -
GDT: 2018 Draft Day 2 - Rounds 2 and 3

You would think so, but it appears to be the same old browns..... -
Irresponsible to trade away so many picks?
apuszczalowski replied to Klaista2k's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
So just 24 hours ago everyone was saying how they have to give up everything for one of the top QBs in the draft. Both 1sts, next years 1st, both 2nds and 3rds, etc. You dont worry about holes cause you can fill them in free agency. You gamble and do whatever it takes to get one. So they manage to get one and it only cost them the 2 seconds. And then was able to get one of the top linebackers for a couple later picks and now everyone's crying cause they cant fill the holes and dont have enough picks? -
I think that's similar to Mayfield, his antics are going to pass off the wrong people and may get him a few extra "welcome to the NFL shots". How many of the truly elite guys in the league are cocky and arrogant like him? Brady might be a prick/ass but you dont see him taunting opponents. Manning's, Brees, those guys always seemed humble and classy on the field

It's funny how fans and media know that accuracy is something that can never improve (therefore a qb who had poor accuracy in college will never succeed in the NFL) yet Allen was still considered In the top tier of the draft this year and at times discussed as the #1 overall pick by the professional front office personal of real NFL teams...

2018 Draft: 1st round discussion
apuszczalowski replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Is that why everyone wanted him to be a WR instead of QB? And why he was taken at the end of the first round and never considered a serious contender in the top tier of this drafts QBs? -
2018 Draft: 1st round discussion
apuszczalowski replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
How do you know they could have done it without the other 2nd? Unless your part of TBs front office, you cant know they could have. TB may have said we want both 2nds or we make the deal with Arizona? -
By your thinking, they could have moved back and collected more picks and still got Rosen and Evans! Arizona had to trade up to get Rosen, but he would have just fallen back to the Bill's spot. And maybe the Bill's believe that Edmund's is much better than Evans and wouldn't have been happy settling for Evan's?

2018 Draft: 1st round discussion
apuszczalowski replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Except that the "value charts" dont mean anything when it comes down to real life. It may give a baseline to get an idea of how a deal could start, but it all comes down to supply and demand. Arizona was trying to get the pick, Bill's also wanted it. TB knew both wanted a QB and there were only 2 left. With another team potentially willing to take one before either time was supposed to pick. -
Fans also get the added benefit of hindsight with their picks

Well he turned down a multi year deal from the Ravens, why would he take a deal with Buffalo unless they overpay long term? Also isn't his mom a prostitute?

2018 Draft: 1st round discussion
apuszczalowski replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Apples and oranges. There was 1 QB left and 1, maybe 2 teams willing to trade up. No one is sure that Miami wanted to trade up and take a QB, they may have o ly been interested if one fell to them. It was said that Arizona was ready to trade for the 7th pick TB made the deal with Buffalo instead. Tb had a higher demand for the pick then Oakland -
In other words "those guys dont count cause they prove the theory wrong"........

Lol, so a few hours ago no one cared about the online or holes, you had to sell the farm to get one of the top 4 Franchise QBs in this draft. Not all of their picks would pan out so who cares, its house money! If the online sucks you put in AJ and let him get killed! Now the same people who were sell the farm whomever the front office determined to be their QB are crying cause they used a couple of the picks to move up and now cant fill holes. All because the Bill's front office didnt take the guy they felt they should have.

2018 Draft: 1st round discussion
apuszczalowski replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
But he walked away with the QB with the highest ceiling and a very good LB for less then what people wanted him to give up for just a QB. Remember when around here all those extra picks were house money that could be thrown away to get their QB -
2018 Draft: 1st round discussion
apuszczalowski replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
So just a few hours ago it was how the Bill's have to pay whatever price to get one of the 4 franchise QBs in the draft. Who cares about the holes in the roster, they have to get a franchise QB! So they move up using only 2 2nds, get the QB with the highest upside and athletic ability, and use the other 1st plus 2 other picks to move up and grab one of the top linebackers and everyone throwing a tantrum because they gave up picks and didn't get the franchise QB they wanted. Now they should have stayed put and filled the holes in their roster -
I think people here are really overvaluing the Bill's picks. Sure they have a bunch, but the best ones are out of the top 10 and it's more quantity over quality as most are in the middle of the rounds. Next years first is most likely to be a 10-20 pick also. Teams may look at the Bill's and like the quantity they could ask for, but may look at a bunch of other teams and prefer the quality of them.

Why Do You Think Bills Are Waiting to Make a Deal
apuszczalowski replied to Irv's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
And if the Bill's want a QB they can get one at 12 also, possibly the leftover of the top 4, Jackson, Rudolph or others. But the difference is if the Giants want to almost guarantee themselves a game changer like Barkley or Chubb, or a lower tier guy. The Guants can stay put and get what most are calling the best player in the draft (or grab Elis replacement) if they dont get what they want in return. It's not like they walk away with nothing if they dont trade back -
Rex & Polian on ESPN NFL Live - Trade
apuszczalowski replied to wppete's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
So Rex believed Tyrod would be great and doesn't believe in McCaron. Stick with the picks and grab someone later cause AJ is a franchise guy if Rex thinks he sucks! -
Why Do You Think Bills Are Waiting to Make a Deal
apuszczalowski replied to Irv's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
You dont just offer them twice what they are asking so you dont lose out on a franchise couch that will be with you for 12-15 years? -
You heard about what the Jets gave up to move up 3 spots from 6th to 3rd, right? You think the Giants, who probably have multiple teams inquiring, would drop from 2nd to 12th for only a 2nd and a 1st next year? Gentlemen wouldn't make it through his first off season as GM to become the fastest GM fired ever. The Jets set the bar with their trade the draft value chart can be thrown out the window this year, only way it comes down is if a team desperately wants to move down and are going to just take the best offer made to them.

Why Do You Think Bills Are Waiting to Make a Deal
apuszczalowski replied to Irv's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Because unlike the fans, they know what they are doing and either have 1 person they like or multiple and are not willing to just give up whatever someone wants to move up to put the fans at ease. You dont trade up until you see how the cards fall. If you trade up to 2 and spend all your picks to do it, then the browns take the guy you want, what do you do then? If you dont trade up to the top spot, you have no control of what happens and may have traded up for nothing because either the player you wanted are gone before, someone else gets ahead of you somehow, or you spent a bunch of picks for no reason cause you poked multiple guys the same and they are all available when you originally were sitting at.
