  1. bro, he took away the sky. one thing having our front office love drafting physical freaks gives us, guys like edmunds and groot pop out of there stance and looking like they are jumping before they even extend their legs.
  2. part of it is a fresh lean and supple star, part of it is AJ, boogie, and groot have replaced shaq and that dude w the ginger beard and so on. the whole mcd approach to the D is: secondary play ultra sound smart football, d line comes in waves so every is fresh and making an impact, and everyone on the pitch plays hard and flows to the ball. it's clear on how he has built his teams that he wants at least one super star corner, but after that depth, breadth and quality on the DL is his bread and butter.
  3. he's going to get put in bad positions and make mistakes, but he brings a juice to the field that i haven't seen on the bills since peters was on our team. the difference w him is instead of just being a huge heavy guy, he's an explosive athlete. w knox balling out too, our O should be in 11 most of the season. an extra LB on the field lets us dictate much better in the passing game, and we are so dangerous passing that as long as the running calls and execution stays consistent, we won't be running into 8 man fronts too often.
  4. the D is gonna need a couple turnovers or big stops, and the O needs to score 4TDs. we've been stronger in the first half all season (even vs DC, their points came on total flukes), so i think we need like 17+ in the first half to win this.
  5. BETs best of 1998 line up, with 2015 sensation kendrick lamar thrown in! about a year or so ago i wouldn't have minded this line up, but in my gym the coach's spottify play list always ends up being eminem and dr dre. like always. the irony of Cinderella man by eminem playing while im hitting pads was almost too much the first time i heard it. now it's unbearable.
  6. i presume we can run block decently, but we need to execute that and mix it in, because for how we played last year and how we played vs pittz, our oline is simply a liablity. makes sense whey they drafted three guys this offseason for it. there is just not enough talent there right now.
  7. i recalled the pass rush not hurting us last sunday, and the dc fan board someone linked to on here just had them belly aching the whole time that their d line wasn't showing up. these all 22 breakdowns showed that our o line is really not that good, certainly not up to the task of stonewalling DCs front 4, and that allen pulled a josh allen and strapped the team on the back and rode to W town.
  8. moss just seems like a much better back to me than motor. i suppose motor seems to find the big hole for a massive gainers once in a while, so that's good, but our big need from a running game is first downs and putting the opponent's d where we want them (and not rushing allen to death). I just think moss does that for us much better.
  9. i hear ya. for some reason, i have this idea that dawkins would be a monster LG. either way, our FO wants to get younger cheaper and more athletic on the lines.
  10. down the road some i could see brown at LT, dawkins at LG, williams at RT, and whoever wins it at C and RG. we also drafted that other super athlete in the 4th, and an OG later. would not shock me to see brown at lt, dawkins at LG, who ever at C, later rook at RG, and 4th rounder kid at RT. save as much money and get as young as possible.
  11. i was tipping that he would look good in cackalacky, but he's exceeded what i was expecting at this point so far.
  12. there was one pass to diggs late in the game yesterday, it faked out the camera, i thought for a second the ball was tipped, but the camera man just wasn't fast enough. on the replay, in slow mo, a guest at my house commented that she could barely see the ball. only person i've seen put the ball out that accurately and fast with so little fanfare in his throw was jeff george. as far as his shortcomings, to me it is all in allen's head and feet. he gets the sugar high and that leads to holding the ball or bad decisions, or he gets his feet into the wrong place and just throws from there. the offset of that is his feet allow him to throw darts while rolling out, run for big gainers, and avoid sacks that he has no business doing. as far as his head, his sugar highness is a problem, but he's a freakin dog and will bite down and grind on anyone at anytime, and the team sees that and frankly often plays above themselves. i think the approach of small things to focus on week to week is what you want, you look to refine a guy like him without knocking off too much of the pixie dust. i still think he's gonna go down the GOAT.
  13. well, we know we have talent, and confidence, so that's good. we should have another cakewalk next week, but up after that are some real tests.
  14. all i gotta say about this: if you are nervous about covid, no amount of rigor on the checks for 70K people in close contact will be enough, so if you are scared don't go. makes me think of a guy in my gym, does the BJJ classes. wears a pretty strong looking n95 type mask (i think, never asked him). the way i see it, if you are nervous enough to be the only person in the whole gym wearing a mask, you shouldn't be doing BJJ. a friend of mine's whole family got covid, as near as we can tell they got it going to the giants home opener. vax didn't stop it.
  15. a point i see in this: Simms points out correctly that we are running an offense based heavily on the old NE O. does anyone remember brady getting huge credit for beating up on teams after they ran the ball effectively and then passed out of heavy formations to wide open guys? or when they would spread, hit the quick hitter on first down a few times, and then mix in draws and just grind the d up? dabo gets into insane ruts where he comes in with no balance at all, and it takes earth and heaven to move him off of his stubborn perch. was it against KC or something we ran the ball like 1 time w an rb in the first half? his choice to line up empty (4 and 5 wide, he just can't let a drive go without going empty) vs what is prolly the best 4 man rush in the nfl after it hasn't been working just shows he has an idea coming into the game, and it has nothing with taking advantage of the D on the pitch. the 4th and 1 call was a great example of not doing anything to help your players out. if we convert that we have a really good shot at winning the game, and that's with bad play all over the place otherwise. i was wrong to stop bad mouthing him last year!
  16. i still think dabol has too much junk in the playbook, and too many tricks. he's trying to make the O be about his clever stuff, instead of getting the best results. real basic stuff in practice, running bread and butter plays over and over with some wrinkles to them so you have something to go to get a rhythm or when you are in a bind. just throwing out 5 wide vs nickle and the best pass rush in the nfl, or going 4 wide empty back field, and that garbage on 4th down is no way to get to the superbowl.
  17. i remember the super windy game vs philly, where we were like 6-1 or something and they ran down our throats in 2019. in that game, philly's good O coaching leaned on what was working and mixed it up some but really attacked where the d was weak. dabol tries to run a fine line between dictating everything and overwhelming the d, and just being too cute by half. he was way over the line today. we were vanilla and pressing into a rush that handled us and really frustrating coverage, and took ourselves out of being able to run the ball, along w as said above very predictable allen runs. when allen ran vs pass d it was murder on them, when we ran the ball vs pass d it was very effective, when we run into a wall or most importantly passed against what looked to me like sometimes disguised but really just steady disciplined coverage we were trash passing the ball. i said it the last few years and sadly i have to say it again, other teams play us at a lower level of difficulty than we play them. they take the easy money when it's there and set us up to make their bigger plays easier. we just like dial up stuff like we are playing a video game. mcd made some dumb goofs too, but this is all on hiim. he's got to crack down on dabol and force him to string together drives with fewer wasted plays.
  18. We had the same yards per play, and 130 more yards, we had a much better 3rd down conversion rate, and we won time if possession. The fumble cost us a drive, but not much else. The score shows we lost on the blocked punt, and the stats show it as well. Allen was trash, but pittz d is sick. The blocked punt and trash penalties killed us. I honestly think food coaching would have had us walking away winners, but our coaches were worse than our players today. Lots of trick plays and no bread and butter did us in.
  19. Well, they found some runs and then quickly went to play for the tie. Obviously we need a hard stop now.
  20. Just awful football since the first half. Both sides of the ball making just the right mistakes to lose. I don't think this team is as well prepared as pittz, but the execution is plumb terrible. One good drove all day.
  21. Awful, this team needs to catch fire to win this game
  22. Allen and the o need to pull their heads out and put together some drives. Pittz is tough on d but this kinda play leaves much to be desired. I've been ripping them for the chip this season, they better do it, or I may look slightly foolish!
  23. You hate to say it, but honestly that's what the data shows thus far. He can turn this around with a quickness tho
  24. Agree, they seem to want to keep in the 5 wide but can't handle the pittz rush. They gotta make a lil change up
  25. a new jeep for his mom and a wrangler for himself?!?! these new players are living way too high off the hog I tell ya. i liked it better when players rode the bus, hoping on without paying half the time, with open wounds because they didn't need any fancy medical treatment, just drinking whiskey and walking it off.
