  1. I'd so love to see this happen. The bills would break every franchise record for passing, scoring, running, TOP, turnovers gained, sacks, and Yards for and against. Part of it is because of the way the bills play. We are still goofy on O, but on D the team plays with a ton of emotion, and has a great secondary. Tom Brady didn't get a TD pass on us when the D was in top form, and that was with a disaster pretending to play QB, Tua may end up being an NFL great one day, but today ain't that day. He'd be confused by the coverage, and would be shell shocked by getting smashed up on every drop back.
  2. he and the texans are playing well, but we really shoulda beat them. peterman, god he sucks
  3. what gets me excited about the D is that we really do not have that much talent on D. we obviously have some key bits who make a big impact (houghs, Tre, less consistently but Edmunds and Milano), but this is a compliment of players playing in a well coached scheme. the wheels have fallen off a couple times (first 6 quarters were on pace to be as bad as our O is), but if you throw all the data together, we are still the best D in the nfl wrt YPG. top 12 or so in points, and that's likely to be top 8 or so by the end of the season.
  4. jeez, the hallmark card moralizing is in overdrive today. yeah, sounds like he had a rough life. so do millions of others, but they don't all think they are above everyone else and just pss away their lives and a small fortune. the point made is that "maybe other people who are good would not be good if they had a tough life". sure, there may be some truth to that, but this guy was DEFINITELY was not good after his tough life. not good is not good.
  5. Why, because he's dead? Truth is truth, dude. he made bad decisions and was pretty horrible to people.
  6. sad story, but he just seems like a total POS to me.
  7. ypp is a solid stat, we are top 3 or so there. we have good over all safety play, one just disgusting CB in tre, and decent 2nd through 4th cb play. our pass rush has been decent over all, and our run D has been solid, just one really bad showing. our weakest positing has been LB, but with a lot of improvement shown there, and edmunds barely old enough to drive, there is a lot of upside. if allen never got hurt we'd be 500, maybe even with a flukey chance at being over 500.
  8. it's a little over stated, but YPP is no joke. it's a very solid D and most def one of the best in the NFL. Say top 5 for sure. a little bit of explosion on O and better special teams play would make the bills a really tough out for anyone. i think the signs for 2019 look good. Allen turning into a stud would make this team pretty tough, assuming we stock up on talent in the draft and in FA next season.
  9. i know we are all sad as fans, but if you look around the league, there are plenty of teams that could end up w a worse record than us. Jets, Giants, Browns, Zona, 49ers, Raiders, colts, jags, lions, and green bay are all within 1 win of us. there are some 500 type teams who could also fall apart. our o has had the worst 9 games i've ever seen, and our special teams are junk, but the D has been nice and at times great. if josh comes back and lights a fire under the team, we could win teh second jets game, sweep miami, and even win one of detroit and jax. I know it isn't likely, and id think 3 to 5 wins is probably a cap, but there are 10 other teams who suck about as bad as we do. the nfl has gone goofy with horrible teams and dominant teams. i know we are all sad as fans, but if you look around the league, there are plenty of teams that could end up w a worse record than us. 10. i gotta say, our raw raw rook allen brings a lot more to the table. i think his ability to be electric and make plays keeps us in games.
  11. if we get to 500 over the next 4 games, and JA is not healthy to go in (conservatively, which you know will be the mantra) it will be pretty hard to put JA back in while the playoffs are still possible. if we are over 500 after 4 or 5, then its' a super hard decision. any other result and the just jam JA back in because playoffs don't look possible. all of that said, if allen is healthy and looks better and is learning well in practice, and if DA is not great but we are still winning (i really don't think he's gonna be as good as say, Orton was for us, so it's not like he's gonna put up crazy numbers) it's an easy thing to justify in the locker room, and given that corch benched tyrod for peterman, i think he'd err on the side of rolling with the rookie. its' also likely that if the O does better, someone else (shady, benji, whoever) is gonna step up large and will be seen as the reason for our winning, so we aren't in much danger of sitting our ticket to the playoffs in DA alone, so i don't see how JA doesn't get back in, and likely sooner. Personally i'd ride the hot hand cuz JA is so young and confident, but Mccorch has shown he likes to act rather then let it play out
  12. i'm on record saying allen is gonna be favrelway, and i still think he will be (of course, a serious throwing arm injury may change that, so here we are). While i totally agree only having a rookie (let a lone a raw one) and WOAT peterman on the roster at qb is inexcusable, if allen doesn't get dinged up we are 3-3 after a tough stretch of opponents and 4 on the road, and that's after peterman gift wrapped us our first loss (heck, he even delivered the 4th loss) and the d was woat for 6 quarters. this shows that the coaching we have as a complete organization is at least decent. i can see dabol just not being good enough (lining up wrong is disgusting) and our special teams leave me wanting much more as well.
  13. we signed star to bolster the run d and get some push up the gut, and we've gotten that. i suppose it's possible that he hasn't contributed as much as his paycheck, but 10mm is basically what a quality smash em up giant DT costs, and he's certainly been that. our D has been playing at a redunk level since 6 quarters in, and star is the closest player to the ball on half of our snaps, so clearly he's contributed. i will say, i don't think lorrax and kyle can keep this up all season given their age, and our lack of 3rd lb and 2nd corner is gonna get us roasted when we face top flight qbs, but i'm more than happy with our d. our o is hot garbage, and some of that was to be expected, but it should improve as allen grows and with less peterman. the real pain this season has been our special teams. it seems like the young punter has a leg, and our kicker is great, but we haven't covered as well as i'd like, and muffs and blocks costs us what would have been a massive road win. imo that's rather fixable tho.
  14. i like the white on white and the red on red, for a change up at least. i'd also like to see blue on blue, have we done that much? i can't recall
  15. bro, i dunno if that's true, but i honestly think it cold be. we are gonna find out at the least!
  16. if he's hurt to start the year, we'll bring in a bigger time vet qb if he's not, we'll bring in a cheaper one eli may be there, frankly if he's there for a trade i'd get him now
  17. obviously our passing attack sucks, but im particularly disappointed with how horrible our running game has been
  18. the talent on o is garbage, but the coaching isn't great either (it's actually terrible). i can dig that some of his schemes and play calls sometimes work, and could work, but pre snap penalties, not being lined up right, holding removing big plays, all of that is on coaches. we really should be 3-3, and given our putrid start that's woulda been pretty good, so we shouldn't can anyone yet, but we need to show some improvement. i think indy stinks, and we should have a shot at winning that, but w our qbs i really don't know if we can pull it off. i hope the monday nighter vs the pats gets cancelled, but somehow i think it has to happen.
  19. i think he'll likely get 15 ints, based on the fact that their d is pretty terrible and they will be pressing on most drives. i don't see them missing the playoffs, but their chances in the playoffs depend on their d just waking up. maybe berry coming back (is that even possible this year?) could wake them up like bob sanders woke up the indy d in their championship season.
  20. JA got smoked, but it was pretty obvious the pack D had one plan and it worked. I feel like our coaches can't self scout, but they did pull out that big win in Minni, so maybe the problem is they have a rigid or complicated O in place, and no flexibility built in when it goes wrong? not reading blitzes pre snap is just a problem with allen at the moment, i've gotta assume the corches are working to overcome that, but i think the whole O is playing wit their pants down.
  21. dude, for real. the rub comes in how you pay for the people tho. seattle got a lot of millage out of the LOB by having the first and second big contracts early in the cycle, so salary cap increases helped them along the way. you really want to stagger out the big contracts you sign, so that you don't get jabbed all at once. look at the bills w watkins and woods. if they were a couple of years apart we may have been able to sign at least one of them, maybe even two. another idea i have on nfl D's is that except for the two starting corners, talent on D is complimentary. a great pass rusher makes the guy beside him better. an MLB who can go side line to side line makes the OLB have less space to cover so they can play faster, DT soaks up blockers, etc. The difference w a starting corner is, his job is very binary. he either removes the WR as an option on a given pass play, or he is letting a guy be open. the saying "being on an island" is very true. for that reason, i think you really need to over invest in corners, because the difference between a B+ and an A corner on a given play can be 6 points.
  22. he got a lot out of his talent, never had wheels even for SEC football, let alone NFL. i think he and a few other guys show how you avoid bama players, and favor urban meyer players. they are basically pro's at the college level, they even get paid!
  23. embrace the poz!
  24. I choose to believe that this is not a typo, and that QBs and DE's are the Brahmins of football.
