  1. Hughes and Mario are being switched to OLB
  2. This has always been, and always will be, about the money. The civil suit was the play all along after Team Kinsman's initial extortion attempts of Winston failed (Kinsman's aunt tried to score $7 million from Winston in exchange for dropping the suit). This civil suit will likely fail, too. She was clearly lying from the start, and contradicts herself repeatedly in depositions. Her story has changed so many times it's almost comical. Winston would be wise to not settle.
  3. Whenever I hear the self-described term "free thinker" I know almost without exception it's coming from the mouth of a closed mind.
  4. We ain't going 0-3. I'd put money on it. We're better than the Dolphins, and no chance we drop our first two at home...to anyone...Colts and Pats included. I say we come out of it 2-1. We're not the same old Bills anymore, kiddies. This team has some teeth.
  5. Ending the curse against the Dolphins in 1980 was the greatest sports experience of my entire life. I was 13 at the time, and we had season tickets. Hadn't beat Miami since 1969, when I was just two years old. It was the wildest atmosphere I've ever been around. We hated the Dolphins then even more than the Patriots now. We had some good teams in the OJ mid 70s era, but could never beat them. Not once, and usually not even close. Talkin' Proud was blaring. The fans never sat down, even in the lower sideline seats. The crowd was so loud you couldn't hear yourself scream. When it ended and we won, ending an 0-20 decade, I cried like a baby and so did most of the fans around me. The goalposts came down. It was a total love fest. I've never been around anything like it.
  6. Did you read what I wrote? You're making my point. I agree he won't get cut because he still has trade value. Taylor, on the other hand, could be cut because he has little or no trade value. If he looks as good or better than EJ than it would make more sense to trade EJ than cut Taylor. I have no bias. EJ to me is just another young player trying to make the team. Same goes with Taylor.
  7. For many militants in the anti-Tebow camp Aaron Hernandez is less objectionable. Tebow represents a culture war to them. He's a white, pro-life, religious conservative from the south - public enemy #1 to them. Hernandez could easily be explained away as an unfortunate victim of the white privilege of a "culture of intolerance" created by people like Tebow. He symbolizes everything they hate. What happens on the field has little to do with what makes Tebow such a polarizing figure.
  8. I look at EJ as just another QB prospect in camp. No more, no less, and his original draft position is of no consequence anymore. We have 3 equal competitors for the starting position, maybe 4 if we draft a QB with our 2nd or 3rd rd pick. If during camp EJ is more impressive than the others ride him. If he's less, trade him while he still has some value. I am not interested in nurturing any of the QBs currently on the roster. Keep the top two performers, trade/cut the 3rd, and if we have a rookie keep him in clipboard cocoon for a year. Which brings us to the 3rd QB. Of the 3 on the roster, the only one with any market value is EJ. Cassel is the only vet with lengthy NFL experience, so provided he's healthy it's hard to see him being cut. That means a roster spot is on the line between EJ and Tyrod. Winner take all. If both are performing at an equal level you trade EJ since he has more market value. That's just the cold, hard, objective reality folks. I know some on this board might not like to hear it, but that's life.
  9. Tebow...the legend continues.
  10. The omniscient, omnipresent, omnipotent, omnivorous curse is the glue that holds us all together. Without our unrivaled suffering we'd just be another crap town like Indianapolis. Unimaginable pain and heartbreak is what sets the 716 apart, and what binds us together as a people. When we see another Buffalo fan around the country we can nod with a knowing understanding of the countless calamities that we've had to endure. We "get it" without having to say a word. In a sense, perpetual crushing defeat is really more a blessing than a curse. Long live the curse!
  11. Article seemed like a pretty rational analysis to me. Wasn't biased or bashing EJ,
  12. Roethlisberger was accused of rape twice and wrecked his motorcycle driving without a licence. Ended up suspended for detrimental conduct for a time. He's matured a lot since then, but the style of player Big Ben is is very similar to Winston, so I think that's also a fair on-field comparison.
  13. I'm feeling a {gulp} 11-5 season. Hard for me to even type such a lofty record after so many years of suffering in the desert, but I've got a good feeling about this team.
  14. Love how Rex eschews the coach speak and fires back with guns blazing. So much more fun than the "blah, blah, blah, I respect him as a player...blah, blah, blah...I don't concern myself with these distractions...blah, blah, blah..."
  15. I'd take him with the top pick. Risk is worth the reward. He's an incredible talent, plays his best in the clutch, has no fear, and is a great leader both on the field and in the locker room. Just gotta hope he's learned from his personal mistakes and matured away from football.
  16. As Wilson learned the hard way with Donahoe's trendy clown suits, football fans from old school, shot-and-a-beer towns hate the Madison Avenue chic BS. Ted Black just waived the white flag on his Turd Burger alternates just like Larry Quinn had to do with the heinous slug for the Sabres. The Browns aren't quite as much of a blasphemy, but fans will still hate it and I expect them to return to their originals within 5-6 years.
  17. Former Gator and Patriot teammate staying true to his boy. If he lacks the intelligence and common sense to be able to separate team loyalty from sociopathic a mass murderer, well, I'm damn glad his time here is over.
  18. Hang him high. In the public square.
  19. Saban, Moulds, Freddy, Kyle, Moorman, Conlan.
  20. If by elite you mean worst QB to ever win a Super Bowl, than, yes...he is in rarefied air.
  21. We really do need to add a slow, undersized drama/drag/dancing queen at our position of greatest talent and depth.
  22. Great offensive line? Obviously, Sims took one too many headshots.
  23. I'd say calculated with the exception of Clay. Breaking the bank on him was definitely a leap. He'll need to become a perennial pro-bowler for that deal to pay off.
