  1. I think the OL will benefit more than people realize by the addition of Incignito. Reminds me of when the Billls signed Dobler in the early 80's, only Cognito still has a lot more left in the tank. Not jumping on the CK bandwagon, however. Until proven otherwise, he's a total washout in my book.
  2. Thus, Whaley's greatest weakness as GM. He will stubbornly, and to the determent of the team if necessary, force feed his pet acquisitions upon the coach and roster to stroke his ego. Fortunately for us fans, he has an owner who isn't shy about smacking him down and ordering him to the corner with a dunce cap when necessary. Clearly, Rex today showed he agrees with the Fans and Pegula regarding Freddy and Bryce. For Whaley, it's deja vu as once again he is reduced to carrying the water for a coach and owner who won't hesitate to override him publicly regarding personnel when necessary.
  3. Hopefully, he won't have feet of clay.
  4. I've long believed the Bills need more cow bell.
  5. Good. Seems Rex and I both see this bum through the same set of eyes. Hope he's one of the first cuts in training camp.
  6. @viccarucci: The #Bills were asked by the #NFL if they'd be interested in being featured on HBO's Hard Knocks tthis summer, They said no.
  7. Meh Cassell vs Ryan Fehpatrick...talk about an irrelevant poll.
  8. I can honestly say I have no clue who will be the opening day starter, but as far as making the final roster Cassell is probably a lock being a game managing veteran who also has value as a mentoring backup. He makes the final cut barring injury. The real battle is between Tyrod and EJ for who will be the lone young gun to make the roster. The loser of the competition between them probably gets waived, while the winner pushes to start.
  9. OK, money argument is over. He's a Bill, and we should all be rooting for him to earn every penny of that investment for us on the field.
  10. Worse still, what if he was a militant atheist or agnostic supremacist who publicly mocked and insulted people who are religious. An angry, radical social progressive who used his celebrity to berate people with his message, and demonized those who didn't agree as racist idiots. Can you imagine?
  11. Same here...he's my favorite sports radio personality. I especially love his extensive college football coverage and discussion. He's obviously pro-Dolphins, but I agree with you he's fair and objective on balance. Seems like a good guy that would be fun to drink some beers with.
  12. No chance Fish match. Fait accompli.
  13. Omar Kelly sounds exactly like Tim Graham. Same person?
  14. Tebow is religious. People who are religious love him. People who are not religious despise him. What happens on the field is just a platform for advancing a culture war. Wash, rinse, repeat.
  15. Well, the modus operandi of Whaley overpaying market value for players he covets has proven to be a consistent pattern. Huge risk/reward philosophy... hit it big you're in the penthouse popping champagne; miss and you're in the shlt house crying in your beer. Whaley's a true riverboat gambler. A thrill-seeker gunning for the hottest commodity cost be damned. I'm personally much more conservative than that, so I cringe when I see what appears on the surface to be reckless decisioning. Sure hope lady luck is with him on this deal.
  16. You got a peaceful easy feelin' this thread can be deflected from the beaten dead horse, Joe?
  17. All it takes for a Tebow thread to blow up is the kindling of a single workout with a single team and "BOOM!" - mushroom cloud explosion.
  18. I'm sorry, but your just not worthy of my attention any further. Putting you on silent. Have a great day.
  19. Yes, every point you made in your post is factually incorrect. Wrong, the NFL was sued by the families of former players diagnosed with CTE or died of CTE related causes between 2006 and July, 2014. The ruling specifically stated the NFL is NOT responsible for any compensation before or after those dates, and not responsible for CTE moving forward unless they test positive for Lou Gerhig's Disease, Alzheimer's or dementia. In other words, the NFL could care less if Daryl Talley shoots himself in the head, and if he does they won't give his estate a penny. OK, so now you are arguing against yourself, saying the league's laughable "protocol" is meaningless. Well, yes, I guess this is your first true statement. Way to go. Uh, actually make rule changes that are substantial, like using soft helmets and soft padding, to prevent repeated brain trauma. Put together a marketing campaign of CTE awareness to raise money for the cause...and then match the funds. Actually put together league funded programs to help former players suffering with CTE, and pay their medical bills in cases of financial hardship. These are just for starters, but you've got to start somewhere. Couldn't have said it better myself. Your post was complete and utter nonsense...and probably just for the troll purpose of pissing people off.
  20. There was another thread that disclosed Whaley and Brandon consult TBD for fan commentary, so the answer is yes. In fact, we also determine who owns the team...just ask Jon Bon Jovi.
  21. False. Football by far has the most, accounting for 47% of all reported high school concussions - more than triple the rate of boys soccer. http://www.headcasecompany.com/concussion_info/stats_on_concussions_sports
  22. On the flip side, I seriously fear what will become of Wes Welker in the coming years. His head is filled with scrambled eggs at this point. If the league had any scruples they'd retire him for his own protection.
  23. So, what can be done for prevention? No easy answers, but I think if you went back to leather helmets you'd drastically reduce the number of concussions. As a former HS and college linebacker, let me tell you that my bell was rung to the point of feeling brain tingles nearly every practice and game. Never was KO'd, but the repetitive shots from all those years of head collisions had to take some toll. I can't imagine the toll it must take on the brains of NFL players. You don't launch with your head, or get hit by a player launching with his head, when the hard shell battering ram strapped to your noggin is replaced by leather. Look at rugby and Australian rules football for examples of contact sports with no helmets that have extremely low rates of brain injury.
  24. Goodell's failure to acknowledge CTE in any meaningful way is what really needs to be discussed. No NFL dedicated testing, awareness campaigns, research or funding for afflicted ex-players. Plenty of time and money for breast cancer awareness and abused women, but not one penny of marketing promotions dedicated to the disease that directly afflicts the players as a result of the game itself. The hypocrisy disgusts me. It would be like the military pretending PTSD didn't exist while promoting awareness of fibromyalgia. Goodell needs to get real with this disease, and start supporting the wounded warriors of the NFL whose lives are at real risk within a few years of retirement. THAT should be the fallout of this story.
  25. By the time the Bills sign Clay his name will be Ali.
