  1. Wow, is this is a bombshell story. Niners gonna be in the running for the top pick in '16. Total implosion of the organization since the midpoint of last season. I think both are discussion worthy.
  2. The shlt storm from the haters if Tebow makes the team would be epic. Really hope he's refined his game and makes it work.
  3. What's funny is how there was so m uch less interest in the signing of our possible starting QB(s). No need to panic, people. If it happens, great. If not, we'll fill the spot either in the draft or another signing. Either way, we're gonna be a damn tough team to handle this year.
  4. Or, as is/was the case with Graham, a super anti-Fan.
  5. Maybe someone should tell him you can't sign an offer that hasn't been presented yet.
  6. As far as strategy on waiting, letting Clay sweat works to our advantage. He already saw the Dolphins door shut (in all likelihood), and other potential suitors will eventually start running out of interest and spending room, so as he continues to hold out he may be compelled to take a more affordable offer from us. This seems to be about negotiation process more than our ability to get a deal now.
  7. If we spend $9 million on Clay it may prevent us from signing an impact OL like Wisniewski. That's what concerns me. If we can have it all, well, great. Not so sure we can, but I'm no capologist
  8. Don't care about his personal spending habits, do care about cap space value.
  9. The best D's are Buffalo, NYJ, MIA, NE - in that order. Best offense is obviously New England. After that, Miami has the edge at QB while we have the edge in the running game and have the best receivers, while the Jets are still likely to struggle to score points. Overall: Bills: 1D/2O Pats: 1O/4D Fish: 3D/3O Jets: 2D/4O Bottom line: It's all about the QB. If we get passing comparable to what the Fish had last year with Tanny we'll be Super Bowl contenders. If we get more of the same lackluster play we've seen over the past couple years we're still playoff contenders, much like Arizona without Carson Palmer, but no threat to the top tier.
  10. The fact I don't want to blow $9 million of cap space on Clay shouldn't cloud the fact I do agree he's more of an impact player than Chandler. Just not 9x better. Closer to 2x better. The price is skewed. What I love about the guy is he runs through tackles like a bowling ball thru pins, and fits the toughness profile Rex is trying to establish. Guess I'm still scarred from Pegula WAY overbuying on Ville Leino and Christian Ehrhoff in an effort to make a splash as new Sabres owner. Both busted, Leino fantastically so, and now we have the worst team in hockey two years running to show for it.
  11. Dolphins also love Sims. He's got size, can catch, block and give you a complete game at the position. Be a strong 1-2 punch for them. If Clay signs with us for more $$ than Cameron did with Miama I'll be really annoyed. Cameron was a real difference maker on a Cleveland team with ZERO offense.
  12. The significance of signing a good H-back is comprable to signing a quality Fullback. Nice to have, helps the offense, but keep the investment proportional.
  13. Chandler actually ran a 4.78, but speed aside he has been a better deep threat than Clay. He has a higher YPC without significant YAC. Reason being he has height and boxes out well on the intermediate/long routs. Clay doesn't have the speed to go deep or the height to be the tallest target on longer throws. Like I said, Clay is a system guy. A short/mid range limit on receptions, tough YAC runner and an excellent screen pass option. He is a different position in that sense from Chandler. Also, Chandler is rated an adequate blocker while Clay is generally regarded as weak. H-back might be better fit for how Roman is scheming, and if the money was similar or slightly higher than the departing Chandler I'd be all in, but it's so grossly disparate that I'm more skeptical of the investment than most of you seem to be.
  14. Clay is a better H-back than Chandler. TE? I disagree. If H-Back is the preferred position of scheme for Roman than he's getting one of the better ones. If TE is what he wants, he would be getting one too short, too weak of a blocker and little production as an intermediate/deep threat receiver. Remember, he's significantly slower than Vernon Davis, and will not stretch the field as a receiver like that for us. I wouldn't overpay for Clay. If it were me, I'd rather grab a TE with our 1st pick who can play a complete game. Save our money to upgrade the OL.
  15. If we cut Chandler to sign Clay for $9 million/year someone needs to be fired, or have their head examined.
  16. Contrary to the opinions of many on this board, Clay is not a very good blocker. I live in South Florida, and his blocking ability has always been the knock on his game. See below...
  17. He may blossom into a true star, or he may remain a 2nd tier TE at the Chandler level. Clay runs tougher than Chandler after the catch, but Chandler is a bigger target who can also stretch the field. People are excited by the new toy possibilities, which is great, but this swap would not appreciably change the quality of our offense IMO.
  18. Not even sure about the marginal increase as a blocker. He's a converted FB who was considered more of a receiving TE with below average blocking skills. He's 4" shorter and 10 lbs lighter than Chandler. Not saying I don't want him, just reminding those who disliked Chandler so much, and think Clay is the 2nd coming, need to understand we're probably getting a wash at TE in this swap...if that.
  19. Since 2011: Clay: 58 GP, 161 rec, 1,809 yds, 14 TDs Chandler: 60 GP, 181 rec, 2,112 yds, 17 TDs Have a great day.
  20. Incredible. 28 pages and counting of anticipation for maybe signing a still unproven RFA TE. No other fan base is this invested.
  21. What you fail to realize is by Buffalo standards "Meh" is actually somewhat complimentary as a QB reference.
  22. Meaningless poll. Both top backs in their prime. I like McCoy because he has more dynamic big play capability.
  23. This is no contest. Tannehill in a landslide.
