50 years ago today occurred the devastating plane crash in Huntington WV that claimed the lives of 75 people including the players, coaches and boosters of the Marshall University football team. This event is told by the movie "We Are...Marshall" that was made in 2006. The movie is a pretty good depiction of the events and the return of the football program. On this day there is a ceremony to turn off the memorial fountain that is in the center of the campus. Normally 2 to 3 thousand attend, but not in 2020. The ceremony was streamed online. The sense of 'community' at the Marshall campus and Huntington is very high. My avatar is a picture of the fountain Go HERD !!

I am enjoying the camera shots from the drone ESPN / CBS is using. The drone can capture angles the blimp can not.

In the late 1970s and early 1980s my mom and step father attended the par three tournament and they said the same thing about television. TV does not do the grounds justice with all the beauty and all the terrain.

In the past 5 years we have had a large gathering in northern WV at my SIL's parents house. Not this year. Just having a gathering at our house with oldest daughter and grandkids. We grilled steak for Christmas 2019 and it was awesome.

I always wear a Bills shirt or hat on a cruise. It is a great way to meet new friends.

Grandson is dressing as the grim reaper. Our neighborhood has 100 houses so it is a gold mine for out of area kids to be dropped off and pillage the streets for the 2 hours that are scheduled. Many communities around have canceled so Mrs. Lew and I estimate we will have 300.

The latest member of the WV Bills fan club entered the world with the birth of me and Mrs. Lew's first grand daughter. She was born on Monday night at a healthy 6 lb 13 oz. Mom and dad and older brother (Age 7) are all fine. Elizabeth Anne.

Multiple times here in WV. The most memorable was a bear came out of the woods and waddled across the fairway as we were ready to tee off on number one. Yes, we let him play through. Alas in the county where I live some knotheads are feeding the bears and they are losing their fear of humans. Naturally they will come back to where the food is and go to other houses other than the peeps who feed them.
