  1. Fair enough, I'd take your word for it over any of the draft sites I'm looking at. I also need to check our mock draft to see if Alec Lindstrom went yet. edit: Lindstrom still available as the #2 ranked Center. I might push for that pick as well. Of course I'm only going off of position they play as need, and some rankings I can find (and I am familiar with Lindstrom's brother who has done fairly well in Atlanta, all things considered).
  2. Ed Ingram, OG, LSU could be considered. Is it too early to look at Cam Jurgens, C, Nebraska? Might be able to get him in the 4th or 5th I think...
  3. Not thrilled that most/all of the OL choices are OTs when we have the bigger needs at C/G. I guess Zac Tom played some Center, so I'll lean that way. Would like to know what C/G options are available.
  4. I think the quotes make it a reference to the incorrect assessment of Diggs that was made by the Vikings, their fans, and most of the league at the time of his trade. Doesnt read to me like Brown is calling him a diva, even sarcastically. He's referring to the quotes by others.
  5. If he has another season like last year, he definitely gets a top 5 TE contract because he will be a top 5 TE.
  6. I mean, in Whaley's defense, he was simply asked to give his opinion about what the Bills might do. And just like us, he had no clue what Diggs was asking for, and what we would offer. Plus, talking about trades fills waaaayyy more airtime in this dead part of the offseason than simply saying "Nah, they'll re-sign him". But I wont get in the way of the Bash Doug parade. I'm over it.
  7. So much better than that "Cap to Cash" bullsh*t
  8. I'm trying to customize a jersey t-shirt on fanatics.com, but it wont let me put $$ as the jersey number
  9. Great point. Dude was hated here for so long, but has proven he definitely wasnt the problem at OBD. He deserves big credit and appreciation, and really some apologies.
  10. This is a great idea. But would it be a blue blazer with "BEANE" on the back name plate?
  11. I'm giving Epenesa the leeway I used to give Edmunds (who I no longer have patience for), considering Epenesa's rookie year was 2020 in the height of COVID, with no rookie camps, and remote training camp. I'm putting him on the same timeline as Rousseau/Basham, so I expect to see some progress this year. I think Rousseau has already showed enough for us to feel confident he is on his way. We'll see what these young guys pick up from Miller.
  12. My point is that the numbers will all be significantly shifting around in the near future. So the graphics and reports and whatnot that show we had no money left, while technically accurate in this moment, will be changing. And it is only internally that Beane has the money earmarked, not that it would show up on any of these reports.
  13. We already had that available. Remember the cap numbers change significantly once it shifts to only counting the Top-51. We were already expected to have the room to sign rookies earmarked. Any savings from this Diggs deal will likely (hopefully) go to more Free Agent signings. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  14. Nothing is impossible in the world of the NFL. Even if most of us feel it is unlikely, we really dont know what Beane and Co. are thinking in the long term. Trading players is always an option, and worth the discussion in the offseason when we really have nothing else to talk about. I talked about it a few times, but that doesnt mean I wanted or preferred it to happen. Only that it's one possibility, and if it did happen, what would the fallout look like. Especially if dude was going to ask for $30M starting immediately. We just didnt know.
  15. But people here will tell you that players, even QBs, shouldnt have any say in GM moves and coach hirings.
  16. We traded a ton for Sammy when we had EJ and Kyle Orton at QB. Of course it failed. We traded a similar amount for Diggs with Josh at QB, and it's worked out pretty well. Completely different teams. Cant compare to old trades in a vacuum.
  17. But if a DB like Gardner is on the field, do we even end up in the 13 second situation? Or does this 6'2" elite talent help prevent Hill taking it to the house or any of the other TDs scored on a backfield lead by Levi Wallace, and we have the game wrapped by the 2 min warning?
  18. Right. That's exactly what I'm saying. But Josh will be, which is the point. It's much easier to churn and cycle young WRs when you have a Franchise QB than churning defensive players. Re-sign Davis, re-sign Knox, trade Diggs to recoup some picks we used to land Sauce. Profit.
  19. Sure, but unlikely that any other CB2 we get is as good as Sauce. And CB doesnt have the help to look good like our WRs do with Josh. I'm not even really for this trade, nor do I think the proposed offering is enough to move up to get him, but I wouldnt hate the move. edit: And honestly, if Sauce is even half of what he's hyped to be, he really becomes our CB1, and gives up flexibility with Tre's deal and maybe trading him or letting him go elsewhere when his deal is up.
  20. We found Davis in the 4th round. We could/likely trade Diggs for a handful of picks. There are other avenues to finding WRs, who Josh is always going to make look better than they are, than the 1st round.
  21. Not one like Sauce Gardner tho. I hear what youre saying about the 3rd and additional 1st. But Sauce is tempting. Although I'm not sure 2 1sts, a 3rd, and a 5th is enough to move as far up as we'd need to in order to draft him. It's fun to imagine in this part of the offseason.
