  1. I took a lot of time out of my day to include the proper gif that conveys the exact degree of anything being wrong with that, and now I dont feel appreciated at all.
  2. Interesting take. It'll be fun watching it all play out. I think the Bills are in a good spot right now at OL. (Does SVPG become the next Teller as we send him the Cleveland to sweeten the deal for Garrett? 🙃 )
  3. The UDFA RT who we signed to only a 1-year deal? What secrets do you know?
  4. I'm already convinced you want Von's underwear and nothing is going to change my mind.
  5. Look in the column to the left for "Cap Hit" then subtract "Dead Money" to determine what we would save. For Milano in 2026, $16.1M Cap Hit and $11M Dead Money. If we keep him, he costs us $16.1M. If we cut him, he costs us $11M in dead money. So we save $5.1M if we cut him.
  6. Well how many have you made and put up for sale? You never know...
  7. There's an entire discussion in this about employers and how much they should be meddling in personal/out-of-work lives. If most of any of us get hit with a DUI, or even arrested for DV, most of our employers wouldnt even know and it wouldnt affect our employment at all. And to a certain extent, nor should it. I get that with the NFL, and pro sports in general, it's a little different since their entire industry is based on being in the spotlight and well-liked. And we, the fans, give them this opportunity to make millions of dollars a year to play a game, so therefore there is a bit of a higher standard. But it isnt on the NFL to be the legal system. Now if a player is charged and convicted, sure, go for it. Suspend, ban, etc. Just like I would lose my job if I had to go spend a few months in jail. But I get why they are harder on things like gambling and PEDs, which directly affect the product and employer, as opposed to off-field legal issues. I'll stop because this isnt really the soap box I want to be on. Just sayin, it makes some sense why...
  8. I was surprised to learn how young Edwards was as well. Thought he was at least 32 when he came to Buffalo. I guess I chalk that up to having won a Super Bowl for some reason.
  9. Oh snap, this thread just made the BIG TIME!
  10. Wrong Connor McGovern. The shlep that played for the Jets is almost 32. Our guy just turned 27. Easy mistake to make, they are very confusing. Same name, same position.
  11. The cap is a myth. (this saying always fires up some folks so lets see how it goes)
  12. Very "Billsy move" letting him go to another team for a worthless pick. I KEED.
  13. I guess. It's good to have competition. But I dont see it as a "must do". Edwards is a Kromer system guy. He was good enough to get a SB ring with the Rams. And he and McGovern are both only 27 yrs old. Those IOLs usually play well into their 30s. Great thread tho. It will be very interesting to see how it all plays out. The good news is, we're watching to see what we do with our wealth of riches. We will always need 3-4 good backups at any of the trench positions. Not a bad thing to be overstocked there. And if they cant break into our starting lineup, Beane has historically been able to trade them off and restock the shelves. Not a bad cycle to be in.
  14. I want to believe it's simply another Brown/Bernard case where he needs a year or two to develop, and in fairness we havent seen ANY play from him like we did those other guys. I'd be fine with a McGovern extension because I like him specifically as a player. We'll just have to wait and see on SVPG. (And you know how patient fans are)
  15. Great point! I havent seen enough from Sedrick Van Pran-Granger to know whether he is the future-future or not. But I do think McGovern was an upgrade over Morris, so I'm all for getting him extended.
  16. Retiring would be horrible for the Bills as that immediately escalates all owed/dead money into our cap. It does NOT wipe his money off the books. Rather, the opposite. He needs to take a big pay cut first, sign a new deal, and then can retire if he wants to. I was confused when I read "collect underpants", and then even worse when you mentioned "squeezing the juice out of him"...
  17. Great post. Zooming in on this part, the way I read these signing updates is: It's 4/$50M if he continues to play at a high level, and in that case even $12.5M/yr is a steal. or It's 4/$25M if he stinks and we have to release him, as the guarantees are the only parts that play into dead money. And in that case, $6M/yr isnt much at all in the grand scheme of things.
  18. No one asked that. We all know why he is the whipping boy no matter what side we're on. He made a couple of social media posts, and some fans are really fired up about that. Yikes. Totally different convo is whether folks believe it affects negotiations between the FO and his agent. Which it doesnt. Beane has his number. He isnt changing it because of some social media posts.
  19. No, Beane DOESNT CARE. He was asked his opinion and gave his general stance that he would "prefer not to" which is literally what anyone and everyone would say. But it doesnt affect anything. As evidenced by him turning around and doing the same thing. Boo hoo hoo to the fanbase who are in their bag of feelings. Build a bridge and get over it. We should all have other things to be concerned with in our lives.
  20. When asked directly about it, Beane answered, completely unsurprisingly, that he would prefer not to. Like anhyone would say. But that doesnt mean it actually affects anything at all. He just answered the question. Even behind closed doors he isnt saying "Well we offered him $14M/yr but now that he posted 3 emojis call his agent and tell him we're changing it to $12M/yr!" And Beane saying $15M was nowhere near what he had in mind is BEANE negotiating through the media. So both sides are "guilty". But it doesnt really matter. Any difficulty in getting a deal done and being far apart in numbers would exist whether Jimbo posts on social media or not.
  21. Luckily my feelings, your feelings, and anyone else here's feelings dont matter one bit.
  22. You guys spend a lot of time on social media, huh?
  23. Literally no one in the FO cares about this. Nor does it change the offers at all. I'm sure by now Beane has made his offer to Cook's camp. There is not a lot of back and forth in early extensions because the team does not want to negotiate against itself. They typically make an offer, and unless the player's camp comes back with a change in their starting number, won't keep making new offers. The only folks that care about social media are fans (aka grown ass men with apparently nothing else to do).
  24. The more signings Beane gets done, the more pressure it puts on Cook's camp. "Hey, we're paying players left and right. But we're about to be out of money. So first ones to sign their offers win. Here's a pen."
  25. He hasnt been a whipping boy in YEARS. The current one is Cook. Agreed on the rest.
